  1. When it comes to showing I have 400k in the bank, is it sufficient to just download a PDF statement from my Bangkok Bank app? Or do I need a tangible paper statement from a branch of Bangkok Bank?
  2. Is it easier to extend a visa based on marriage at a local immigration office? Or is it easier to just let the visa expire, go to a nearby country and apply for new visa based on marriage at a thai consulate there? The main reason I ask is because I'm under 50 and work online, and it seems that can be something of a gray area in Thailand. So I'd rather avoid face-to-face interaction about that subject.
  3. How would you say รอนานไหมรอนานแค่ไหนin ภาษาอีสาน ? I realize speaking it as central Thai would likely be understood, but I'd prefer to make it authentically Isan. This endeavor has become somewhat confusing to me, and here is why... If you translate Thai to Lao on Google, รอนานไหมwill come out as ถ้าดนบ่But my wife (from Isan) insists she would say it as ถ่าโดนบ่(note the ไม้เอก instead of ไม้ โท , and note the long โ on โดน) And if you translate รอนานแค่ไหน on Google, it comes out as ถ้าดนปานใดBut my wife insists she would say it as ถ่าโดนปานใด๋(aside from the two previously noted variations, please note the ไม้จัตวา on the last word) What say you?
  4. So I could apply for a one-year extension even after the 90 days if I am on a 60-day extension?
  5. So if I want to upgrade from 90-day visa based on marriage to a full year, when is the best time to apply for the full year extension? I suspect it is right before my 90 days expire, but I am not certain. I have a Thai bank account, but not yet 400k in that account. How long must I have the 400k in my Thai bank account in order to meet Thai immigration requirements once I apply for full-year?
  6. My plan is to either spend the entire rest of my life in Thailand. Or else spend most of the year in Thailand and then like two months per year in Laos. I will likely try for annual marriage extension at some point in 2026.
  7. Is there any limit on the number of times within a calendar year (or any other period of time) in which you can apply for a 90-day visa based on marriage and have a reasonably sure chance of success?
  8. Very likely I really should refuse to buy that stuff for her.
  9. That is what I believe she was seeking to communicate.
  10. I'm sure at least some of us here know there are many words that are not spelled with a ห but are pronounced as if they have a ห To my surprise, the wife just said แล้ว is one of these words. Is she correct? Or has her inveterate ยาดม use muddled her thinking?
  11. I agree that Calibre is a good program. Conversions from Epub to mobi are almost always seamless. But when I convert PDFs to mobi on Calibre, most of the time the result is basically unreadable.
  12. Apparently, this means changing the PDF from a document this is 8.5 X 11 to a document that is 4.5 X 6 Can you do this? If so, how?
  13. I'm still not 100% on these ones. Also, my wife seemed to hesitate here. Am currently pronouncing them as something between long and short.
  14. Those ones are long, my man. Multiple sources, including my Thai wife, have just confirmed so. For years, I had mistakenly thought they were short.
