Are both the Landing Stages for the Andaman and the place in Ranong town well signposted and is there secure parking if I decide to stay overnight in Burma ?

I had a Bed made in Baan Tawan some 8 years ago, so far no complaints.
The bed maker arranged the mattress and now I am in the market for a new one.
Any recommendations for place to purchase ?

I would say that the location and view from the Galae and the Palaad Tawanron are their best features.
I used to go regularly with a group of older expats, to the Galae but the complaints on food quality grew.
Service was good, mind you a Good Tip from the Old Hands certainly helped.
Palaad Tawanron food was OK but not outstanding and service was decent.

Back in 2009 I developed Bronchitis, for my first time ever, during the Burning Season.
Last year I had a month down Cha Am at the worst point.
This year I have booked 6 weeks in a seaside hotel in Hue Hin.
My respirator system is my weak point so I am off come mid February or sooner if I start to feel bad.
On a bad day I can see the low lieing cloud of scum over CM from my Condo window.

The Old Mr Chan's has moved location further up Huey Kaew to be Opposite the Main Entrance of CM Uni.
Name changed to Bella Pizza, Sign in same style as old.
I went last night, after receiving report, to find alterations to premises still underway.
Due to open in one weeks time and Staff informed me menu will be same as before.
I mentioned about the Large car park next to the Mr Chan by Night Market.
Shows what I know, for three days a week Mon Wed Fri it's the site of a local Thai market.

I did my 90 day reporting this morning all paperwork complete.
I got there at 07.55 and took my place in the Queue outside on second step down from top.
About 08.05 movement started as the official issuing tickets started work.
By 08.25 I was sat down with my number.
Things moved quickly and I was out by 08.45.
There where folks who did not get a number and where 'Trying it on' with the counter staff.
One guy on some other business was trying to explain just what He wanted from them.
He was politely advised to leave the country and obtain a Visa from a Thai Embassy.

Goforit
Going from the intersection of Suthep Rd and the "Irrigation' canal road.
Head out of town for 11 Kms, 10 mins to the Night Safari Irrigation Canal intersection.
Now very close.
Cross the traffic light getting into the right hand lane and take the second 'U' turn about 600 mtrs passed the lights.
Mr Chan's is immediately on your left.
Go past and there is a Large car park next to Mr Chan's.
Very good menu.

I tried the site by the Night Safari and was impressed.
Very Friendly atmosphere.
I mention That I used to use the place on Huay Keew and that it was now closed and stripped and received a reply of
Yes he just up and moved !

Last night I went to find that the Mr Chan & Miss Pauline restaurant opposite North Food on Huey Keaw had closed and the premises 'Stripped'.
Does anyone know if they have opened new premises ?

Apologies.
Last night the Notice and the letter where subject of much comment by Frang customers.
A Thai wife, very well educated lady, read the letter and accompanying lefleats and says words to the effect of
'This is a letter from the Municipality about measures to prevent the spread of FLUE.'
The leaflets also from the Municipality where Requests that Alcohol should not be sold on Buddha Days and did mention the 2-5 time scale.

I had lunch in The Pub today.
They have a notice and a Police letter from Bangkok on the board.
The letter states that no Booze may be sold or consumed from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Daughter has checked with local police Station who confirm ban.

I had problems with 3BB, frequently dropping off.
I did some investigation and decided it was the router that was at fault (7-8 year old).
I went to 3 BB office and asked to buy a new router.
They rented me a new route at B100 per year.
No problems since.

I know from the owner of The Pub, that there have been problems with internet connection in the area of the Rimping Hotel.
Line problems that the company have been working on.
I have what is a good connection in Suthep area and pay B1166 for connection.
Recently my old (8 years min) Router packed up and 3BB 'rented' me a new Router at B100 per year.
I made enquirers about a faster service.
The staff showed me what was available.
All the higher grade ones have the same Minimum offered speed, your paying more for the Highest Possible speed.
ASDL to me is a 'Con' you MAY get the higher speed but we cannot/willnot guarantee it.

This 'Poor Frang Fool' is quite happy with Rim Ping.
I traded about 9,000 points and got an excellent German made 'Oven/Cooker'. Delivered on time from Mee Chock branch.
Now I have very tasty Roast Chicken, done on the rotisserie cooked with, Free Range Chicken, from my Cheap and cheerful local Thai Market.

Without going to some reference books, after CM was built with the Moat and Walls, extra communities set up between the New City and the river.
Thaepe was the connecting road and the new settlements built a Earth Wall as their outer Protection. East and South sides, Burma was still main enemy.
There is still one of the Original Corner Forts in existence, Lower South West corner.
I once had a naughty little argument with a local historian who insisted that the Earth Embankment was never brick faced.
If you walk along the extension from the SW corner of the moat down to the remaining Fort you can see the the original almost as constructed. Most bricks have been removed but some are still there.
Yes years later the street became home to Small houses of ill repute but building of the big hotel got rid of most of them.

Hinlay Outstanding.
You gets what you pay for and Hinlay must be best value for money.
Good Indian for 120-150 is not reality.

Memory says that back in my Married in Issan Days, rates where 3% for a known good risk and a starting rate of 5 % for an unknown risk.
That's per month.
My Misses wanted to do this Loan Sharking and was annoyed that I would not finance.
Still she sorted matters out and 'Bought' the Concession for the Lottery.
I am too embarrassed to say the Debt she got Lumbered/Stitched up with, needless to say Ex wife.

I normally say you can meet every weirdo imaginable in Chiang Mai, but I will conceded that Pattayay probably has it licked.

"Oh i thought they may be the two leg type"
'I live in Pattaya so I hate to say it, but it's fitting.
We already have some of the worst falangs, some of worst Thais, some of worst street dogs, so may as well have lots and lots of rats!'
Now I thought it was going to be about the Brit who "led' the Red shirts, my Yank friends keep ramming it down my throat.

"Andaman has secured parking. In town none. Overnight in Burma from town pier isnt much to brag about
Cant recall any signs, but the pier in Ranong town is close to Thai Immigration
Andaman trip, Thai Immigration is done at pier terminal"
Cheers for the info, The Andaman looks like the better bet.
Just where is the Andaman pier terminal, or is it obvious to anyone driving down.
