Not correct. This used to be the law but it has been amended a few months ago. Unpaid volunteering and interning is no longer considered work and does not require a WP. I'm repeating these words from the mouth of the director of foreign employee division from the ministry of labour.
Thanks, perhaps sanity is creeping in, albeit painfully slowly ????

And there’s the rub. I totally agree with the OP. The local schools are desperate for me to pop in and get advice from someone who is actually from England about the English language, it if I do this altruistic act I am liable to deportation. Can’t this country learn to help itself a little more?

I plan on teaching English (as an unpaid assistant) in various local schools purely to pass the time - should I be worried that I don’t have a WP?

We use it in Mukdahan. The IO prefers it as it saves them work. Problem is, you have to go to the office for them to show you how to use it because it is so poorly written

There are many huge factory areas within a two hour radius of Bangkok and Pattaya.
Samut Prakan, Samut Sakorn, Donhua loh area in Chonburi, Amata city in Rayong all have literally tens of thousands of single girls under thirty.
It is amazing and you will rarely see other farangs.
They are factory workers but a lot of them are in admin etc. I have even scored a few engineers, senior managers etc over the years.
It really is like shooting fish in a barrel as soon as you get your game plan sorted.
It is very possible to have three or four on the go. Many work the night shift, some work weekends and get a weekday off.
Get yourself a “dumb” phone if you want to play the field. A smartphone will bring you undone. This is important.
Also tell them you have contract work which will give you freedom to tell them you are busy and give you an excuse for not answering your dumb phone. Don’t join LINE etc.
I can’t remember exactly how many I have scored in the last nine years this way but it is well over 200.
All the factories have a different uniform. Get to know the uniforms as you won’t remember all of their friends you will meet, and it helps you spot people who might see you and give you up. You have to be aware that you will stand out like dogs balls being the only farang. Most of the factories are Japanese owned but occasionally you will see a few farangs who work for farang companies.
They mostly go out straight from work in their uniforms and don’t go home to get changed first (too much traffic at peak times in these areas)
This is where you want to hunt. Even girls with real jobs in Pattaya, Phuket etc are generally spoiled and know too much about our bad sides.
The upside with most of these factory girls is they are living away from their home villages, so away from prying eyes, families and neighbor gossip, so they are a lot easier.
These factory areas have a great nightlife scene as they are full of young people who work and therefore have money to go out. Many are also quite lonely and bored if they haven’t made work mates yet. A steady stream of newbies arriving daily. Women generally outnumber the men two or three to one in these areas.
If you are in a pub, I suggest not approaching girls with males in the group. I never had much success this way, you end up wasting time speaking to the males and the girls just seem harder when males are around. They are more likely to slut about if in a group of girls.
Many have studied English to a certain degree and will enjoy showing off a bit talking English with you. Probably best to meet them on ThaiFriendly etc until you improve your game strategy.
Dont pressure them for sex on the first night. Don’t even expect to stay with them on the first night. They will end up chasing you this way.
If you end up staying in the same house, but In different rooms, act the gentleman and say goodnight. Then mention that you thought you saw a ghost there previously and it is very likely they will get scared after an hour or two and actually ask if they can sleep next to you.
Best of luck, if you follow my advice you really won’t believe how much quantity and quality you will get. It is unbelievable.
Don’t do the bar sluts in Tourist areas.
Highly informative post, I bet you could write a lot more ????

For me it’s in reverse - I can’t get my Yellow tabien baan book until I get my visa extension ( no witnesses required for extension - first time too)

A report is due every time you spend the night somewhere different than your registered address with Marriage Extension in Mukdahan, but can do it online - easy as pie

That is fairly new and is only at Chaeng Wattana immigration.
They have been informing applicants recently about the requirement after the application is accepted.
Just had to do it in Mukdahan for Marriage Extension too

My local IO are keen on me doing 90 reports online, saying that it saves them work. Haven’t tried it yet, but how hard can it be? Wondering if you could do change of address online too.

esterday, the 13th, I got another phone call from them asking me how much I now had in my bank account and saying they want to see my bank book again, updated on the day and with another letter from the bank.
Virtually the same thing happened to me 2 days ago for the same extension as you. The IOs said the request came from above and didn’t understand the reasoning. Specifically they needed copies of an updated bank book showing a deposit of ‘200 to 300 bahts’ that day, not a withdrawal. Luckily the amount in my account was still fine, and I stuck in 1000baht, got the copies and delIvered them to the IO, who seemed apologetic and happy. Still waiting for final approval.
This was in Mukdahan.

Saw a whole family in their home yesterday, all sleeping comfortably on the tiled floor - there was an empty bed right next to them.

Don’t listen to the cynics, there’s plenty of genuine bargirls looking for a genuine relationship, yours sounds okay.
best of luck ????

I’ve just had mine done for my visa extension.
The photographer gave me a choice of blue or white background. I asked which one he recommended and he said that blue was the norm, so I went for that.
Sizewise I was told by the IO that they should be 4 by 6cms, the same size as the shape where you stick them on the form, and they had to have been taken less than 6 months before submission, although lord knows how they check this.
They we’re happily accepted at Immigration, just hope I can say the same for my extension in a couple of weeks ????

The police would be a more appropriate place to file your report.
If this happened in a western country I would agree 100%, but I’ve become very wary of involving the police here, the falang vs Thai thing, you know?
I think using a Thai (the real agent) to catch a Thai was the best option in this case, and fortunately seems to have worked.

UPDATE:
my documents have just arrived and appear to be in order, albeit 3 weeks late and 4000 bahts ‘surcharge’.
Things only started happening from the day that the legit agent talked to the woman in question, the same day that she appeared on this forum (she phoned me up in a panic ????). I believe that without this joint pressure I would never have received my documents - I think I am one of the lucky ones, and she’s still a person to avoid at all costs.
So we have a relatively happy ending, and I’m a little wiser.
A massive thank you to all that showed interest and support.

Was she a (very) plump middle aged Thai woman?
If it is the same Thai woman that I have in mind - further investigation will show that she has a connection with a Visa Agency here in Pattaya - run by an English man. When I showed 'a possible interest' in their 'services' both my girlfriend and I were inundated with phone calls from this Thai woman.
How it works:
You go into the *un-named* Pattaya Visa Agency with an enquiry and then if your enquiry falls within the plump Thai ladies (ahem)'expertise' the English guy will phone the plump Thai woman to tell her that he has 'caught-a-fish' then he will pass on your contact details to her so she can 'reel-in-the-fish!'
Her name begins with "P" and the Visa Agency is in close proximity to the Pattaya City Hospital.
AVOID????
Not that plump and certainly no oil painting, but I don’t think she’s the same woman.
I have a copy of her ID card and all the details contained therein.
Anyone wanting these details can PM me

What did you need a certified copy of passport and Visa for?
I'm aware of the woman in question, so is the British Embassy.
They cannot stop these street touts from operating.
Any official representative of an agent or translator touting outside the Embassies, will take you to their office personally.
The copies were for obtaining my ‘yellow book’, which will now have to wait until after my visa extension.
In retrospect I was naive not to go to her office - guess you live and learn.
On a brighter note, the pressure from the real agent is having some effect -just received a call from the woman in question saying that my stuff is on its way, not holding my breath though.....

Thought about that, but can’t talk to them without an appointment ????

So, after a 4 week wait for an appointment and a 12 hour bus ride, I obtained a certified copy of passport and visa from the British Embassy in Bangkok. These had to be translated and stamped, so I used an agent for this service who was at the entrance to the Embassy and happily talking to everyone who was waiting to go into the building.
She purported to work for an agency which I had used before and knew their names and other details. Turns out she used to work next to them, and does not have an office.
A week after my stuff should have arrived, she stiffed me over the phone for a further 4000bahts on top of the 1700 already given her, saying there was some discrepancy she had had to sort out. Alarms bells started ringing but I felt I had no choice in order to get my documents- needless to say, they never arrived, and she won’t answer her phone.
On a brighter note, we are currently in touch with the real agency that she lied about working for, who know of this woman and her antics (i’m not the first person she’s conned) and are going to try and pressure her into doing the right thing, as she is ruining the name of reputable agencies.
Apologies to those of you who are rolling your eyes and thinking ‘already knew that’, but if this post stops just one other person from being p@ssed about like I’ve been, then it’s worth it.
I have this woman’s details but I know I can’t name and defame, no matter how much I’d like to. But if you PM me I’d be only too pleased to share details so you can avoid her.

The Mukdahan immigration office (details as above) is close to the Thai - Laos bridge ("Second Thai Laos Friendship Bridge").
Just turn towards the bridge and then turn right on first occasion.
Hard to miss.
Here is a typical hand drawn map:
