  1. It was a very big mistake and I have learned a valuable lesson from this. I am still a good person and my wife loves me and that's all that matters to me.

Good for you mate - a very unfortunate thing that could happen to anyone - I sympathise. At least you cared enough to share it with others in the hope that it helps someone else...

    Good luck to you Kringle.

  2. Stayed there in 2003 for 5 nights.... the rooms are small & boxy but ok... no issues with visitor(s) for me.

I think that the place is over-priced and have always stayed elsewhere since. The highlight is definitely the pool so if you are a "read a book by the pool" type of person then it's worth doing it at least once.

  3. Donno... sorry for the slow response - just got back into Bangkok after a few days away.

Yeah - I grew up in Perth - actually played all my junior footy for Subi! Funny that you should support the bombers and the Eags as they have developed a fair bit of rivalry over the years. I was at the MCG the day that Sheeds waved his jacket over his head for the first time. WC got done by a great Essendon comeback led by Salmon at full forward...

Looking forward to this weekend's game against Sydney - I think WC will go alright - might even pull off a win. The larger ground at Telstra Stadium will suit us better than the SCG.

I also reckon the bombers will beat Melbourne this week - travelling back from Perth tends to bring teams undone - you could be in for a great weekend Donno!!

    Bring it on!

    GGG. :o

  4. The Eagles are travelling so-so at the moment so I wouldn't put the farm on it.

So So?? They are THE form side of the competition having won 7 out of their last 8!! Unlike previous years when they have limped into the September action it looks like they will be heading in with a full head of steam....

    It's a funny game football though.... :D

And let's agree not to talk tipping! :o

  5. Definitely a True issue - I have been getting these messages on most websites - started appearing early yesterday.

It's also causing some websites not to load at all - let's hope it's not a sign of the True network beginning to buckle under the strain!

Usually clears up in one to five minutes.

I am not having the same success you are with it going away... look on the bright side - otherwise speed is still good! :o

  6. Looks like you aren't expecting any upsets in the final round Donno? Logic says you are spot on with your tips but with the way things have been going lately anything can happen!

If there are to be upsets it could be:

    * Richmond to push the Swans - Frawley's last game and the lads playing for a spot next year under Wallace.

    * Fremantle v Saints - excellent form for Freo away from Subi (Gellong exception in freezing conditions) so don't be surprised to see them go close too at Telstra Dome.

Either way, I'll be heading down to the Bus Stop to catch some of the action!

    Go Eagles!

  7. Ok - before doing anything make sure you turn off system restore - you can always turn it back on when you know yr machine is clean:

Right-click 'My Computer' then click 'Properties'. Click 'System Restore' tab then uncheck the box before 'Turn off System Restore'

    Click OK. Restart your computer.

Once done, go to Housecall and run an online scan which will disinfect your system.

    Reboot once done.

    Next, download Ad-aware.

    Download Ad-Aware

After installing AAW, and before running the program, you need to FIRST update the reference file using the auto update feature.

    Now do the following:

    - Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Scanning Engine:

check: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."

    - Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Cleaning Engine:

Check: "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."

    Press "Scan Now"

    - Check option "Use Custom scanning options"

    - Check option "Activate In-Depth Scan"

    - Press "Select drives\folders to scan"

    - Select the active partition which is usually C:

Now press "Next" to let Ad-aware scan your drives...

It will find a number of "bad" files and registry keys.

Right-click in that pane and choose "select all"

    Now press "Next" again.

It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.

    Finally, close Ad-Aware, and reboot.

Doing the above should get rid the known spywares in your system.

There's another one called Spybot - Search & Destroy - I'd recommend that you download & install this one too. Fairly self-explanatory.

As a final step - download Hijack This.

Make a new folder to put your HijackThis.exe into. Anywhere on your hard drive is fine other than your Desktop or the Temp folder. I suggest you use something like "C:\Program Files\HijackThis" but feel free to use any name. This is to ensure it makes the necessary backups for recovery if needed. Download and save the contents to the new folder you made and then navigate to the HijackThis.exe. Then, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button. Press that and copy & paste its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet. I'll check back or you can PM me to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

    Hope this helps! :o

    Cheers,

  8. Need some outdoor furniture - have looked at the "usual" suspects... the furniture floor at Central Rama 3, Central in various locations, Chatuchak, Lumpini Night Bazaar.... no joy so far.

Can anyone recommend a place that specialises in outdoor furniture? Timber, plastic, aluminium - don't really care. Even second half stuff would be ok...

    TIA.

  9. Thanks for the advice guys...

stumonster - what's really got me confused abt this green earth wire is why my Otto small appliance oven doesn't have the same? It has the same plug & connector as the microwave...

lopburi3 - I will definitely be quizzing the electricity company ppl on Thursday. The microwave plug has the 2 pins with the strap on the side. I think that regardless of what the "guru's" tell me on Thursday I'll head down to Home Pro anyway.

I'll see if I can confirm that the 3rd hole in the socket is actually connected as it should be.

Thanks again guys - I am a real luddite when it comes to this stuff - you have helped me no end.

  10. There's a couple of women in Patpong selling cheap DVD's. I am a regular customer so I get the following:

    • 100 baht per DVD
    • Box included
    • They make it clear if not a copy from a master

I know they charge some 1 off customers 120 THB so it's over to you & your negotiating skills.

They are situated on Silom Road in between the Food Mart and Soi 2 and they speak excellent English. I continue to only use them.

    Enjoy...

  11. I have read all the posts on here relating to the issue of electricity here in LOS but I am still confused. :o

We have just moved into a new apartment which is a refurbished place in an old building. All sorts of fun & games with the power supply as we are the first people to live in the place since it's refurbishment. Turns out we only have 10A coming into the apartment and there's all sorts of interesting circuit combinations that are tripping the system.... hopefully will be fixed on Thursday when the electricity company comes out.

In the meantime, have bought a new microwave which has a green earth wire on the back - the manual says not to use the microwave without earthing it. But I can't work out where I can earth it or how I go about it?? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    GG.

  12. I started to get the itch approx. 6 months ago and it became a constant frustration. I visitied a number of doctors & spent some time carrying out tests as the doctors were convinced it was an allergic reaction to "something". To this day I still have no idea to what!

The doctors have me taking Telfast which is freely available in most drugstores. They have suggested that I could take this everyday for the rest of my life if needed with no side effects. I have confirmed this with my brother who is a pharmacist in Australia. I now find that I only need to take it every other day (or thereabouts) to be itch free. Initially they had me on 2 tablets per day. It is an anithistamine.

As for the cause of the reaction - it could be the air, water, detergents, etc... I have actually given up trying to identify it. :o

    Good luck!

    GGG.

  13. I have recently moved into an apartment on Sathorn Soi 7 and need to get broadband access ASAP - after 2 years of cable modem access in Singapore dialup is killing me!!  ???

Any suggestions / tips to do with providers or telephone company issues would be most appreciated. Does anyone know the deal with UBC - can it also act as a cable internet provider?

    Thanks in advance.

    GGG.
