Surely not! Thais are xenophobic and just want to make it harder and harder to live in the country!

?????????????????? Strange question. No one "knows".
Of course I don't, which is why I believe in something greater than what we can see.
Why do you believe what you cannot see will be greater?

The Bible is historically accurate (Daniel 5:29) as an example.
The Bible is made up of 66 books, written by at least 40 different authors, in 13 different countries on three different continents. It was written in three different languages by people of all professions. The Bible doesn't contradict itself theologically, morally, ethically, doctrinally, scientifically, historically, or in any other way. It was written over a span of approximately 1500 years.
The Bible is the only book in the world that has accurate prophecy. Jesus Christ died for our sins, and will forgive all those who ask for forgiveness and believes in Him. Jesus confirmed the Bible was accurate and the word of God, when He walked the earth.
It takes about 70 hours to read the Bible. This is the most important book anyone could possibly ever read. I'm not going to waste my time responding to silly comments or questions.

It is not difficult to believe if you have an open mind. I do not want anyone to die for my sins, let alone put that burden on god.

You are looking for a prospective partner in Thailand as a companion, hopefully for life, and you are calculating how much she may be making if she is getting banged. Widen you horizon, mate. Think about compatibility, education, current employment and salary, neediness scale, personality, money honey or not. There are good ones out there, you need to take your time and practice good judgement.

That can't be right, not at Savannakhet. If you stay In Thailand you can't be expected to have the passbook and bank letter updated the same day?
No, not in Savannakhet. But when the applicant want to request 12 months extension, after Non O visa expires, while living in Thailand.

Does this Non O retirement visa give you an initial full 12 months permission to stay?, or do you have to extend it at your local immigration within 3 months with the full proof of income or deposited funds circus?
The Non O retirement visa is valid for 90 days. Which can be extended for 12 months, at the discretion of the IO, provided same day 800K baht bank book entry and bank account guarantee letter and legit passport is made available at time of application.

If they suspect drug smuggling, a careful search of your luggage would seem more appropriate than denied entry. If you are engaged in human trafficking, presumably you are travelling with one or more additional people. It would be appropriate to carry out a complete investigation, and prosecute if you are, indeed, trying to bring people into the country. I believe, however, that most people smuggling into Thailand is done by land, not using regular border crossings. I am not sure what the other crimes against humanity you think are suggested by frequent visits (unless, perhaps, you believe frequenting go-go bars is a crime against humanity). Recent reports suggest the officials do not give you a chance to provide a "convincing reason". They just deny you without questioning.
Too many tourists/exempt visas are viewed as suspicious activity, imo. If you are engaged in nefarious activities and your base is Thailand then, under cover as a tourist with multiple visits to the country, you have probably established an underground network. I think Thailand is being more strict re abuse of tourist/ exempt entry.

With drugs smuggling, human trafficking, and other crimes against humanity on the rise I think foreigners who repeatedly use tourist or exempt visas are probably flagged. And since IO's have the final authority to admit or deny entry flagged "tourists" need to have a convincing reason for visiting Thailand again and again for IO to be satisfied of the tourists intent of visit.

At Udon Thani IM for immigration extension for Non-O, on application day, 800K in bank, same day account guarantee verification letter, and same day updated bank book was needed for me. Transaction entry on same day of application was not a requirement. I guess each office has its own interpretation. Expected in a bureaucracy.

By keeping this up, tarrgeting the wrong people according to the OP's post - as he clearly can a f f o r d these expensive flights... Thailand will lose expats to other countries. At some point, people have had enough! This will be an individual choice, of course.
I guess if farangs abuse the exempt/tourist visa of any country to stay long term in that country, they are likely to be caught and expelled at some time. Best to get the right long term stay visa if the intention is to stay long term. Otherwise its suspicious and/or abusive activity likely to result in expulsion.

1. You can apply for it on the 25th, Just be sure you have everything needed on that day.
2. I think you would get a 30 day visa exempt entry not a 15 day visa on arrival that is only for those from 21 countries.
3. You can only apply for a OA long stay visa in your home country or country of legal residence.
It is possible to apply for a 90 day non immigrant visa (category O) entry at immigration with a visa exempt entry. You must have at least 15 days remaining of the 30 day day entry or the 30 day extension of it. See: https://www.immigration.go.th/content/service_80
Then you could apply for the one year extension of stay based upon retirement during the last 30 days of the 90 day entry from the visa.
- "The application must be submitted more than 15 days before visa expiration and, in case of overstaying in Thailand, application could not be submitted". I had my application for Non-O visa rejected because the IM office require "more than 15 days before visa expiration" So there should be at least 16 days to expiration before submitting the Non-O application. Application submission day is "0" day.

It is a one year extension of stay. After getting it you do not have to leave the country unless you want to. You just do reports of staying longer than 90 days in the country to immigration.
Then when it ends you can apply for another extension without needing to leave the country.
Great. Thanks for all your help.

You cannot apply for a visa for here while you are in the country.
If you tried from here the embassy would probably notice that you never left the country by looking at your passport.
For an OA visa I am not sure how you could even attempt to it from another country near here. A bit difficult to get a medical certificate and a police clearance without being the states.
You could apply for a extension of stay based upon retirement at immigration here if you can meet the financial requirements.
"The extension of stay based on retirement" will require visa runs to the border every 90 days while the extension is open. Is that right?

Hi,
I had a Retirement O-A visa that lapsed due to my mistake. I am still in Thailand on visa exempt entry and hopefully on visa Type O (over 50 and retired) soon. But I do not want to be going for border runs every 90 days with Type O visa. Boring, time consuming, needless expense.
I would like to apply for retirement O-A visa again but I don't want travel to USA only for this.
Does anyone have experience, while living in Thailand, in applying for retirement O-A visa by mail to Thai Embassy/Consulate in DC or NYC?
Or the only option is to go back to US for getting O-A visa?
-
Does anyone have personal experience about getting an O-A visa from Savannakhet?
If so do you know if the consulate accepts Thai police report and medical certificate from Thai doctor?
I have adequate finances in my name in a Thai bank.

Different requirements at different embassies and consulates.
There is no rule that it cannot be issued for retirement purposes.
This from the MFA website.
" other activities (Category "O") as follows:
to stay with the family, to perfrom duties for the state enterprise or social welfare organizations, to stay after retirement for the elderly, to receive medical treatment, to be a sport coach as required by Thai Government, to be a contestant or witness for the judicial process."Source: http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/services/4908/15398-Issuance-of-Visa.html
Yes, it clearly states "to stay after retirement for the elderly" for grant of Non-O visa. But makes no mention of Type O-A visa for retirement. Strange.

Hi , I got a multiple-entry one year non-immigrant O visa from Savannakhet last month based on retirement. I gave copy of my U.K. State Pension statement and Thai bank statement & bank letter , combi method , no Embassy Letter was asked for. This was after being given the runaround , then refused an extension by Immigration at Phuket. This will give ~15months till I need to renew and I will continue this method while it lasts. Hope this helps!
"Non-Immigrant Visa Category “O”
Purpose of Visit: Applicants who wish to stay with family in Thailand (Thai Family)
Applicants who wish for volunteering work with the state enterprises or social welfare organizations in Thailand (Volunteering)"
The above is an extract from Royal Thai Embassy website in Washington, DC https://thaiembdc.org/consular-services/non-immigrant-visas/non-immigrant-visa-category-o/
There is no mention of Non-O visa issue to those above 50 and retired. How did you get a Non-O visa for >50 and retired? Am I missing something?

good for one entry for a 90 day stay, your then supposed to apply for the 1 year extension.
Non o VISA can be issued for visiting family, married, retired, spouse of a farang on a Non B visa or supporting a child.
Thanks. Please see post above. Non-O for retired people not mentioned. Just confusing to me.
