Rereading the OP, I'm going to assume the OP is Australian and is married to a man in Australia. That's great but that as far as the current law in Thailand is concerned they are two single men. Whether a private company in Thailand would recognize a same sex marriage done in another country would be a matter of company policy but they aren't obligated to do so under Thai law so I'm guessing if that would cost them money, they would tend not to. Also I am not aware of any anti-discrimination in employment laws in Thailand that would protect gay men.

OP is Australian not married to Korean reason why I am not crazy and alive for one thing. U talking about that Thailand in Europe called Amsterdam?

  2. Can anyone give me names of reputable agencies who supply Thai manpower to work for me as security guards, drivers, office clerks with a working knowledge of English and Thai law ( not lawyers). What if I am visiting to interview them, am I working? What if I set up a company in Australia but operate in Thailand?

Working without wp is illegal. So what is your plan? What you going to do? If you going to open business, and hire thai to work for you, you are just å business owner. Nothing more than an cash supplier for a business.

Look here I tried to do a course in teaching English and I got shafted in the process of getting a job. So I am decided on not looking for a job. In the months since I thought about it and came up with the idea of investing in a business and putting them good Thais to work for me in a win win situation in their own backyard. I have tired driving trucks, mate, I am thinking of investing my money and time in it in Thailand where i had good intentions once. I want to go no other place in damned Africa where I was invited.  But I want to see how the decks are stacked in this gig aforehand in Thailand, if you see what I mean. So I want to come over the dogshit and scoop a lot at it myself with a big spoon if thats not work. Now if that IS work and am going to be abused, I want to do whatever I can to avoid it. See where I am going with that mate?

If the authorities raid wherever you are operating and determine that you are "working" then it's off to jail, court appearance, fine, deportation, you really don't have any say in it.

But if, as you say, it's (at least to begin with) business meetings and discussions you won't have a problem.

And it DOES matter what passport you are travelling on as to exactly what's needed to obtain your WP once you get a company going.

the authorities wont raid coz i am not opening a store. and i am not staying. what choice does one have in the matter of passport. how many passports u got? is stupid.
