  1. Lots of question...few answers. What's my strongest concern? Visa and attitude! After 27 years in Thailand (on work permit and tourist visa), I have seen many changes. Changes to the better? It's depends on whom you will ask....some will say yes and some say no. Remember EVERY country will change over the years. Visa and attitude somehow are all coming together; and sorry to say so, but Thailand is one of the worst country's if it comes to visa and the ways of applying for it. Even Kurdistan (Northern Iraq) was better than Thailand. I am also holding a yearly residents visa for Egypt, which took 1 form, 20 minutes waiting and 87 dollars. Would I sell and saddle now for Thailand? Hell NO, and I love Thailand and my Thai family.
  2. Mmmh... what about suing the China Government for sending all the tourist which destroying pristine landscapes and environment? Would this include Thai Tourist and Environmental Protection Agency as well?...as they all failed their responsibilities.
  3. Just pathetic...this happen ALL over the world for century's and know one cares; only makes the front-page in Thailand and asiannow. Nothing else to do?
  4. Amazing...but also pathetic! Thailand takes care of the environment??? Is this a joke? Lets see some facts of maritime environment here: Parrot fish - there is plenty in the seven seas, in fact there is so much that the fish is even wrongly sold under the Grouper name to catch more profit And yes the Parrot fish is good for coral reefs; which is harm by greedy tourist business (especially by the so loved Chinese tourist, which crash the reefs with their feet and decorating it with their garbage) all under the watchful eyes of the Thai Tourist Ministry. Lets face it there is NO Ëco-friendly Tourist business - Tourisms always hurts the environment around the world. I should know working in this industry more than 50 years, especially in new development. And last not least - what about the hordes of Thai's littering their parks and beaches for years? So who is throwing the first stone...
  5. FARANG seems to become the "<deleted>" word in Thailand for as. What about the "Captain" of the boat which provide the opportunity, and even the fishing gears? Pathetic....
  6. I am sorry to say so, but you must be plain innocence (or was it stupid) to visit countries without proper vaccination and genuine PCR test. The rules when testing positive are international regulation, and not only for Thailand. So what's the point of this news? You take the risk...is simple your responsibility.
  7. Hope...there is always hope...until reality bites. Russian market in Egypt, Turkey, and Greece is an ALL-Inclusive market with the need of free flow alcohol; this was always important. The Thai package is flight, hotel and breakfast only; otherwise the price tag for the Russians will be to high. In Thailand it is than street food and supermarket, not the high roller Thailand was hoping for. But let's face it every tourist counts for a recovery, it does not matter the numbers; just would be nice if TAT will deal with the facts rather then waiting for Prince Charming...
