I read elsewhere that they now only accept online applications in the first 7 days of the 14 days before the due-date.   I changed my reminder/calendar to fit this schedule, Please correct this information, if others are currently having success up until the due-date.

In person / at the immigration office, one can submit it from 14 days before, to 7 days after, without penalty.

Did our 90 day online on June 10. Due date June 17. Already accepted and in my PP.

The other way around. Thai female living with a Farang for 22 years under the same roof in Farangland. Never married.

Now Farang is going to retire in Thailand, financially well off. Recommending to the Thai female life partner of 22 years: Stay in Farangland, apply for Social Security Benefits, as I will not support you financially.

As not married, no legal action could be instigated by Thai authorities. Also: With no criminal record, nobody can be prevented from travelling to Thailand. I feel sorry for the Thai Lady.

Rare, because it's usually the other way around, but this time a Thai Lady is the victim.

Hmmm, 13 states recognise common-law marriage in the USA. I guess hypothetical girl does not live in one of them 😉

So, how do you see an outcome that both avoids WW3 AND kicks Russia out of all occupied Ukranian territory, including the Crimea?

First, why, in your fantasy premise, does Crimea have to be included?

Second, current risk of a "world war" is single digits.

Finally, the current long-term commitments from Europe and the US for equipment, training, arms, ammo etc will grind dwindling Russian resolve and resources.

    Easy n done.

You make valid points, but let's consider for a moment that there were absolutely no promises on NATO expansion and that Putin could not use such non-existent promises or agreements as a reason to invade Ukraine. Don't you think that bringing NATO closer and closer to Russia's borders would just be asking for trouble, especially in an area as sensitive as Ukraine?

On the other hand, the US has the Monroe Doctrine, which essentially states that no foreign great powers should form military alliances with countries in the Western Hemisphere. The Cuban Missile Crisis was a prime example of how this doctrine was applied in practice and what happens to countries that don't comply. Russia likely wants this same principle respected on their side, though within a much more limited area since Russia cannot project its power as far as the US can.

Russia may "want" the same sort of thing as the Monroe Doctrine, but without the ability to force project (let's be real it is military might, not diplomatic "wants" that enforce any doctrine like this) they are going to be sadly disappointed.

You say you are gay but fail to see that I do not give a rat's rear whether you are or not - OK??  As I said I played golf with a gay mate for 20 years - I am no homophobic at all - I met his Partner many times and went often out with them and had a meal and a beer and to the footy and cricket - we played cricket together for over 10 years. This is not about me having a problem with gays - yet you clearly are trying to take that view.

What I am saying is that 'gay rights' in Thailand must be done IMO, so that it allows gays to get married and have equal legal rights under the law etc. - but that is it - it must stop there.  Otherwise, as has happened in the west, those 'gay rights' had many unanticipated downstream issues. If a boy decides that he is a girl, but is still an 'intact' boy, then IMO 'gay rights' does not means that he can use the girl's toilets and changerooms if he wants to, and if the girls do not want him to.  Sure - any boy giving him/her abuse in the boy's rooms should and must be brought into line strongly.  But your unlimited views fails to see that 'gay rights' leads to that exact situation which becomes 'trans rights' which leads to all those downstream issues. Gay Rights must be 'controlled' so that it does not take away the rights of girls to things like their privacy for a start, let alone being forced to compete in sports against males.   Surely you understand that and agree with that? Or are you saying that a gay's rights over-ride the rights of girls??

Ahh, we finally got to the, "I have a gay friend", non-logic. Classic.

I know to you it seems 'obvious' - but that is because you are locked into a left wing radical way of thinking.

Have yet to read past this post. Up to now you are the only one trying to politicize the topic. You are aware that "right wingers" are not immune to having LGBTQ+ children, right? Are they supposed to be as homophobic as you towards their own offspring? Sad.

Depends what city you are in. All the large cities have many gyms. As cheap as 40 baht a day. I can see 3 to 5 good ones in each large city that are inexpensive. The cleaner said he loves the gym but did not mention going to many.

I have only frequented a gyms when recovering from motorbike crashes. Gyms are the definition of boring.

Then you have no life then. I was right. If you were busy doing so many things you would never join a forum.

Please show me where I said I was busy doing many things. I said I wasn't bored. Do you even understand the difference?

I gotta ask why I wouldn't join a forum? I am a member of MotoGP/WSBK forums, NHL/ice hockey forums, reggae and Bob Marley forums, Photoshop, Adobe, and design forums...

I find those other forums a good way to talk to other English speakers about my passions.

AN is just for pure entertainment 😅 ya never know what crazy stuff peeps will be whinging about here 😂

If that what makes him happy all the best. In the long run probably better off than just doing hobbies on rotate for 25 years. I've never yet met a person who retired young and lasted more than 10 years as boredom sets in or they spent too much money.

Well, it's true we have never met, but my farang wife and I retired at 44. Moved here 18 years ago. Never worked since, never been bored, have enough dosh for many decades more.

Russian President Putin has made Russia's red-line clear to Western leaders.  Defensive nukes are on the table.

In one of the stupidest moves of the Ukraine war, Ukraine launched drones and hit two of Russia's Over-The-Horizon Early Warning radars which are the tripwires which watch for Western first-strike ballistic missile launches.  I've checked the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists regarding the Doomsday Clock but nothing is recent and it does not take in account the latest developments of the attack on Russian nuclear deterrence infrastructure.

The Doomsday Clock is still officially at 90 seconds to midnight.  Personally I believe with the strikes on Russian nuclear Early Warning radars that clock has move to about 15 seconds from midnight.

Do you believe we will see a nuclear Armageddon before 2025, or do you think we'll all still be around this time next year.  Why?

Personally - I'd say there is about an 90% chance that we collectively won't see the New Year.  But I hope I'm wrong.  Thoughts?

    Please keep it civil.  Thanks.
