Another piece of history gone. Not much left in Bangkok. Just bland shopping malls and pizza outlets.
Sad.
It appears the whole site is owned by Thais now so the life expectancy of any remaining buildings is bleak.
UK gov don't care
They're broke which is why they're selling off land & diplomat residences around the globe.
They own a lot of it.(or did)

Rawai Mayor Rushed to the scene to help co-ordinate the recovery effort.
Is it his development?
Mind boggles to think what the compo payouts will be expecially if theyre Burmese.

How can she be on the run if her bail money was returned.
Sounds like a senior cop goofed up with the cash remittances. She hasnt paid this month? Yes she has ,no she hadnt yes she has or hadnt.
Ok, we better arrest her again and hold a document in front of the camera.
Makes us look professional.

Don't believe this story. 200 k baht for a hit on a soi Thai ?
Where would a brainless soi skank get hold of 200k?
Try 10k more like it. The clowns she hired didnt even finish the job.
Why are street workers sitting around the table.?

You may call it provocation, but long ago in Patpong, when some of the upstairs bars preyed on drunken or unwary foreigners, and salted their bills by thousands of Baht, leading to an argument, it used to be a regular occurrence to see the girls smash glass ashtrays on the foreigners' heads as they tried to escape, and see the wolves come running to take free kicks at their heads as they lay bleeding and unconscious in the gutter outside.
Misguided? Certainly, but when you are a tourist new to a culture, you don't always understand the consequences of your behaviour and actions.
They used to be called clip joints.
Don't know if they still operate but likely they do.
They made a big mistake one night some 30 years back when they locked the doors and trapped an Australian rugby side on a transit stop back to Australia.
The British publican telling the story laughed and said the Thais were locked in with them!.
Thais.Never attack farangs in numbers.

Probably some Burmese workers live on site and left a cooking fire burning after passing out from too much laokhao and ya dong.
Happens all the time in Bangkok.

As soon as he was refused bail people would have been laying bets on his life expectancy. He knew too much about some of the most well known and powerful men in the world.
Alot of hi-so on both sides of the Atlantic slept snuggly in their beds last night.
How could an inmate just recently off suicide watch get hold of a belt or anything to hang himself with. Was there a chair in his cell or a closet? Too convenient.....as usual. You can buy anything in this world including your own form of justice.

Would expect to see farang investigators on site soon. Can't believe an insurance company would take seriously anything the Thai police say without a professional investigation.

How do you identify experienced drinkers? Those who check out? What an inane statement.
Yes, I've seen it here for years. Mostly Thais and many farang.
That's not inane. How long have you lived in Thailand. If ever?

QANTAS has been the worlds safest airline for decades and will likely continue so.
If this incident happened on another carrier it probably won't of been reported or pop up on the media grid.
The media and flying public loves sticking it to QF.
Any issue with QF is newsworthy.
If it happened to Aeroflot ,Air India or Boganair the media wouldn't give a toss.

The average age of farang deaths in Thailand seems to be dropping.
Twenty years ago it was mostly older farang bar punters.
Nowadays its guys in their twenties and thirties who get carried out feet first.
This story is credible. Thai men drop dead all the time from alcohol poisoning expecially ,ya dong and soi moonshine which is about 40 baht for small bottle.
Farangs will die as well even experienced drinkers like the Frenchman will check out.
I think it's the humidity, burning money and stress of living in Thailand that accelerates problems. Some people just can't handle living in Asia and should go home.

Yep, tell that to the Chinese and they will ignore you. They never take advise about anything.
They always want to be the first on the plane and the first to disembark.
Not unusual for Chinese to jump up from their seat as the plane is slowing down on the runway after landing.
Unbelievable.

Grab are a welcome game changer that's for sure
1800 baht to the airport from where? A regular street taxi from Thonburi on the west side of Bangkok to Swampy Airport is about 400 b.
Bangkok to Korat is 2000 b.

The Indians are the experts at dismantling marine junk for scrap.
Recruit 20 Indian men on holidays and pay them 1000 baht a day to pull it apart where it is.
Sell what you can for scrap.
You would have to pay someone to tow it away.
Nobody will buy it unless a favour is called in by a 'dark influence'.

Thailands success has always been its ability to bring people back again and again particularly Pattaya/hua hin.
I don't think that allure exists anymore. Thai resorts are overdeveloped ,expensive, polluted and tired looking.
Too many other new destinations coming on line not to mention Myanamar which will eventually open up its hundreds of islands to tourists.

Thai Wellness and spas? Nordic countries are famous for their natural spas or hot baths/sauna etc. They don't come here for wellness.
Get over it TAT !
The main attraction here is cheap sexy massage, supa sexy spa and sauna .
Thailand's sex industry is no longer good value for the farang demographic that used to visit Thailand.
They're going elsewhere.
You wanted lowly Russians,Chinese and Indians...you got them although it spells the end of Isaan beer bars.

Rubbish. I was in Khao San last month. The Chinese are not there in droves. Its still mostly farangs of all ages but they don't seem to be shopping because its now basically the same as any district in Bangkok albeit more expensive of course.
Most backpackers are gone incl Korean and Japs.

Therevada Buddhism seems to have alot in common with TV Evangelists in the US. Take as much money from the plebs as you can get away with and hide in the biggest palace you can build with a fleet of private jets for a quick getaway.

It always seems to be the poorer people demographic who are vulnerable to US gun crime and natural disasters ie tornado's and floods.
Never heard of Wall st bankers or the residents of The Hamptons,Bedford or Martha's Vineyard getting blown away or flooded out of their homes.
The only exception being JFK and RFK.
I doubt if the Democraps or the Rebsate really any different.

Alot of Thai police stations are well furnished some with executive style chairs and polished timber desks( very expensive).
Far more lavish than western police stations.
However many Thai government schools are just sheds with rickety old desks and a mangled blackboard.
They need to get their priorities in order.

Govt to spend Bt50 billion in cash handouts for poor, tourism stimulus package

This is what happens when you have clowns running the country.
Theyre clueless.
The money will be spent in a matter of days then back to square one.
Most of it will go in lottery tickets ,booze and smokes not tourism so the gov will get alot of it back anyway.
Prayut can't take that smirk off his face.
