I live in Bangkok and I can tell you there are some great rental deals around. A place near me in ekkamai 47sqm, super modern, new, japanese toilet, bathtub 13,000 a month. Regardless making any long term predictions is hard. I think the cost of healthcare will become unaffordable. I also think the choice of western amenities will diminish in favor of more....how to say...ethnic Chinese fare. Already many great restaurants disappeared. Perhaps the subway and mcdo will still be here. The older I get the more anal I become about food. Thai slop just doesn't cut it for me.

What are you talking about? Most 60yo posters here are in excellent shape and look better than Brad Pitt. I always said it's better to do your travelling while you are young rather than old and still have functioning brain cells. How many young guys do buy a house for the bargirl? No, they live and enjoy life and eventually return to their home country where they at least have security until they die.

From my experience a condo managed by developer is usually a good thing. Sena developer manages some of their better condo buildings and they are in much better state than the ones where Thai grubby hands got hold of your maintenance fee cash.

Oh yes... Chicken is really cheap in Thailand compared to Canada.

What's ironic is that even Tim Hortons tastes better in Bangkok. My favorite is yuzu donut. I find that McDonald's v doesn't taste better than in Canada. The burger meat is better and you can choose really awesome salad instead of fries.

Look at hotels like banyan tree and Crowne plaza built by japanese decades ago. Then turn around and have a look at any Thai condo 5 years or older. What do you see?

You should but from apple store direct. From what I heard all their refurbished stuff is actually brand new they just advertise it that way not to ruin the brand with lower prices. There will be no original box with the item
