Visa, Mastercard and American Express announced in March 2022 that they will suspend all operations in Russia and any transactions abroad for russian holders of Visa and MC in protest of Puti-Russia iinvasion of Ukraine. Now its time even for Thai banks to follow and join American / Western sanctions against Russia and stop opening accounts and Visa and Master Card for holders of russian passport in Thailand . The new American law signed by President Biden in April 2024 makes it unlawful for any foreign companies , banks or individuals to help russians to avoid sanctipns and US can impose additional sanctions against a wide range of foreign individuals , banks and other entities/companies, dealing with Russia . Thai banks seem to be smart enough:))

It’s sad and outrageous that Thailand authorities wellcome Putin mercenaries for medical treatment who killed and raped civil Ukrainian women in occupied Ukrainian territories. To open bank accounts easily and issue Visa/MC cards for Putinstan nationals for money laundering is an extreme violation of international sanctions, both European and US ones which can affect even Thai banks that help Russians to avoid financial sanctions imposed by international community. Let’s hope that Thailand will join international community and condemn putin Russia for their Ukraine s brutal invasion as other Asian countries like South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore etc

It’s a sad reality and it’s high time Thailand should join sanctions of the world community and stop favoring Russian scumbags. Its obviously that’ was a wrong decision of the Prime Minister to extend visa free stay to 3 months for Russian particular nationals /Putin thugs . Thailand has become the major hub for these criminal putinoids to escape sanctions of civilized countries for the barbaric invasion of Ukraine and killing of civilians there. Sll expats know that They work illegally on Thailand, freely deal with money laundering, slip financial sanctions by opening accounts in Thai banks and getting Visa and Master cards there, (forbidden in Russia now) taking easily thai driving license and buying air tickets worldwide easily, buying 49% all foreign quotas condos, opening hundreds of fake Thai companies with fake Thai owners and taking jobs from Thais in tourist , guide , transport snd catering sector. 😞 Now there are lots of former Wagner criminal mercenaries scumbags wounded in Ukraine coming to Phuket and Pattaya for rehabilitation in order to get medical treatment and return to Ukraine to continue this bloody Putin war against Ukraine. What a shame! To my opinion Thailand should join the world community and impose sestrictions and sanctions on all nationals of Russian Putinstan! Support bleeding Ukraine!

Thai government should Stop invasion of Russian thugs to Thailand! Most countries in the world impose sanctions and restrictions to Putin thugs regime , Russia and Russian nationals for their brutal war in Ukraine. Expeot Thailand who favour Russian tourists providing 6 month visa waver, give them freely American Visa and Master cards ((are under sanctions of OFAC by Dep of US treasury)in Thai banks and giving them possibility for money laundering, buying properties and businesses illegally under Thai names, Its amazing irony of history that Thailand which has been an reliable US ally during Cold Warvand provided a shelter and treatment for wounded American troops in Vietnam war in Pattaya give a treatment and residence permit to Putin thugs from Wagner mercenaries group wounded in fights against ukranians troops protecting their country! What a shame ..
