I always found all work to be drudgery.

Maybe not for the first month or two, but after that completely dull.

And the people that were happy in their work, I also found completely dull.

The only exception was cutting up logs for the wood burner, chainsaw and axe, quite happy to do that for an hour or so every day.

A couple of jobs I had were fun . I was on a project crew so the work changed day to day or week to week

Sure are. Don't personally know many people with assets of over 1M dollars in their home countries. I have absolutely no assets in the UK. Nothing. Nadda. Zilch.

I'm with you I have 0 assets in the US other than my 401 we sold everything to move here and buy a house. I have the 800,000 BHT in savings for my retirement visa for some reason I couldn't get a marriage visa even with a US marriage license

Wrong, I could turn it on 24/7 if I wanted to but I enjoy the warm climate in Thailand all the year as opposed to the cold and grey winters in Europe.

I have a wonderful and replenishing sleep with the fan next to my bed.

During the dry cooler months we just use a fan if our house had of been insulated and a whole house fan installed most of the year we wouldn't use a/c but as it is when we run the a/c it's set at 27

Your best bet for getting something done about this would be to make a complaint at your local Tessabaan (Council) office.

Avoid direct confrontation as he might get nasty, let the local Thai gov't deal with it.

Since burning plastic is an everyday event the local govt probably won't do anything either

You have a link to verify that because I didn't make this up -- I saw multiple links saying very explicitly NO BALLPOINT PEN.

Also, less weirdly, the color must be black or blue.

    No ballpoint pen:

    [sarcasm]

Haven't you heard?  There is a new rule for those on 'retirement' visas.  You are only allowed to visit Pattaya two times each year.........

Elite visa like me get unlimited visits to Pattaya.. ????????????

    [/sarcasm]

If you're just visiting how do they know. I've been too many places here (including Pattaya 5 times last year) I don't check in with imagration every where I go.
