  1. Rich? I think there must be some kind of visa treaty between Malaysia and Thailand. NON-IMMIGRANT VISA (O-A) FOR LONG STAY
  2. Fortunately for Malaysians like me, Malaysians, Singaporeans and South Koreans are exempted from paying Thai visa fees.
  3. There are 15 daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok alone, not counting Phuket and other Thai destinations. From my observation, most of the passengers are Chinese Malaysians and very few non-Malaysians.
  4. Don't you know Malaysia has a sizeable ethnic Chinese and Indian population? You may have a hard time distinguishing between a Chinese from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. I see plenty of fellow Chinese Malaysians here in Bangkok all the time.
  5. Wrong. Malaysians that travel often to Hat Yai are mostly from the northern states of Malaysia, especially Kedah, Penang and Perak because of the relatively short driving distance. Those from the federal capital Kuala Lumpur tend to fly to Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui and Chiang Mai.
