If this nonsense played out in the UK, the people would burn down Parliament. I am not suggesting that should happen here, but the majority of people are apathetic towards taking on the establishment.
No we wouldn’t. We’d moan and tut and maybe raise an eyebrow but then the majority would tune into Love Island. -

Except that China will not be goaded into a war, even though it will almost certainly win. China is playing three dimensional chess while the US is still playing checkers. Anyone that doesn’t see this is only ever capable of playing checkers.
Just because it appears that way in your head doesn’t actually make it true.- 1

THAI NEWS REPORTS: First group of Chinese tourists arrived in #Thailand this afternoon. There were 286 tourists who traveled from Xiamen. The Minister of Public Health was there to welcome them. No news whether their documents for vaccination and insurance were checked.

Firstly, I said "Russians aren't targeting ...", not "Russians aern't targeting ..." That's a pretty ugly typo which I didn't make. Did you actually write out what I wrote instead of copy/paste? No ...
Furthermore, "aren't" is present tense, "will be" is future. Jeez, I feel like a college-educated person (which I am) patiently explaining things to a high-school dropout (which I have no idea if you are).
Laughable.Do some reading, you’ll be amazed at how helpful it can be.

Would be great to have an ASEAN World Cup.

Back in November 2021 I paid £350 for LHR to Phuket rtn for March with Etihad.
Back in April I paid £650 for BHX to BKK rtn for June with KLM. (This was Economy Comfort and checked baggage)
Last week I paid £580 for LHR to BKK rtn for October with Eva.
I’m looking at Skyscanner now and you can get an indirect flight in October for £380with Saudi or £480 with Royal Jordanian, both flying from LHR return. Both include checked baggage (Something that the European airlines do not).
The key as always is flexibility.

As a Brit who’ll be flying to Thailand next week I’m pretty nervous about how this is going. I can envisage a ban on new arrivals from the UK if our numbers continue to rise as they have been over the past few days.
All of this caused by some absolute plonker deciding to visit some s-hole in Africa.

Daft question alert:
If your Thailand Pass was approved before the latest changes do you need to apply again?

You should ask for a refund kindly at FIRST for this on May 2nd I suggest. There is no way a reputable hotel will not refund you. Maybe minis 1-5% ad fee. I as well as many reported getting back my day 5 $$ after test and go went ATK only day 5. This is just common sense for a hotel.
Indeed - they did say that in the event that test and go is cancelled I'll get my money back but I'm still waiting for the refund on my second PCR test from March when I did the Phuket sandbox.

Yup - I was expecting it to be cancelled in July.

Great news but I’m annoyed with myself for already paying for a test and go package for my June arrival ????

I don’t see this happening any time soon, July 1 would be my guess. It’s a little silly because as has been pointed out already a farang is more likely to be infected in Thailand.

@Scouse123 you're last point totally contradicts your post. because according to you the vaccines are the way out of this and Thailand are not getting out of this because they're still thais refusing the vaccine and use the UK as the example because the majority of people in the uk are jabbed. But the UK as far as i know are still having as many cases as thailand if not more and still as many deaths. the UK are doing something that Thailand should be doing and that is learning to live with covid and moving on. because covid isnt going anywhere. so we have to learn to live with it
In the UK the common flu is more deadly than covid. This is due to the high vaccination rate and the sheer number of people who were previously infected.

Most knew at the start that zero covid is a bird brain idea and China and Hong Kong were wrong to think that it was feasible. -

No it wasn't at all.
Your wee story reminds me of a 100 year chain smoker saying that proves smoking is healthy.
Get it now snookums?
I'd like to think you're more intelligent than you're pretending to be.
What we see is that provided you're vaccinated and not already at deaths door then Omicron is nothing to be particularly worried about and this is the case for the overwhelming majority. The question is should society continue to be ground into dust to protect those who would likely die from influenza anyway? I think not, if you think differently then that's your prerogative.

Covid is pretty much done and dusted in Europe. People will get sick and die of course but that happens every winter *shrugs*

Proving what?
That omicron should not be considered a major concern. I thought that was quite obvious, darling.

Well done Air Asia! Omicron is just a cold - learn to live with it..
Indeed. My elderly mother (66 YO) and longtime sufferer of MS caught omicron and easily survived, saying it just felt like a severe cold.

That's because you couldn't afford to buy or rent a property.
Not the UK's fault you haven't got a pot to p*ss in.
He’s right though. As a Brit I’d rather live in Spain than the UK right now. It’s also not his fault if he can’t afford a place in the UK. I’m on an average salary and needed my parents help - not everyone is so fortunate.

I’ll be arriving for two weeks next month but I have a nagging feeling I’ve made a huge mistake in already committing myself to the best part of a grand when reading the horrors many tourists have suffered from. My holiday after March will likely be elsewhere.

Srettha invites Putin to visit Thailand
in Thailand News

PTI but such obvious BS needs calling out.
There’ll be a more equal playing field but in the main, the US, Europe and other Western aligned nations will still rule supreme. China is going to go through an almighty demographic crisis, Russia is already going through one that’s set to get worse. That’s not to forget that China already has its designs for Russia and wants its eastern territories, with its abundant natural resources, back. They will strike at a time when it makes the most sense, which will be when Russia has a power vacuum through the natural (or unnatural) demise of Putin.
The only current and prospective BRICS nation that I’d be willing to put money on in the long term is India, but there’s one trump (not him 555) card that the west can play, and should do, that will dwarf BRICS.
