  1. A dentist can fix the chip by filling it. This will achieve an excellent cosmetic result however is a temporary solution and depending on how you care for your tooth (no heavy biting into apples), it should last a few years. Ultimately, the long term solution is to have it crowned.

  2. Online backup is only viable for relatively small amounts of data (2-10GB), especially with the unreliable internet often experienced in Thailand. While online backup is a great concept for keeping a copy of valuable data off-site, it is not viable when you have a lot of data.

  3. Just have them sent by normal airmail. Theres a good chance they won't be stopped by customs unless the packaging is very large. You could also try sending them individually. I've had plenty of inward parcels sent to Thailand and only very occassionally have I received a card in the mail requesting import duty, and incidently, these have been for larger packages.

  4. Usually bronchitis is caused by a virus not a bacteria infectional so antibiotics are unlikely to be very effective. However, antibiotics are often prescribed as a precaution for bronchitis. If you go down this route, I recommend you take Zythromax, which you can buy from any drug store for around 500 baht. It is a short course antibiotic, take two tablets daily for three days. Eventhough bronchitis is usually caused by a viral infection, taking antibiotics may reduce the symptoms. Drinking plenty of water will make a huge difference as well.

  5. There is plenty of accommodation around the ABAC Hua Mark area. ABAC is located in Ramkhamhaeng and there is no shortage of accommodation there. Bang Na is too far in my view, especially if you do not have a car. If you wanted to be closer to the skytrain transport, there is also plenty of cheap and quality acommodation in On Nut, which is only a short drive to Hua Mark.

  6. The most direct route from Bangkok to Wellington is to fly TG, which operates a daily direct flight to Auckland. From Auckland, you can fly either Air New Zealand, Qantas or Pacific Blue for the short one hour flight to Wellington. There are no direct flights between Bangkok and Wellington. Emirates used to fly direct from Bangkok to Auckland but now fly with a stop in Sydney. Thai Airways is your best choice for the fastest possible connection. Enjoy your trip.

  7. I would recommend you at least get a second hard drive and motherboard with on-board RAID, and implement a RAID 1 mirror as part of your plan. Also for gaming you'll need a decent graphics card (the more RAM the better) and your base system memory of 1GB is a bit lean in todays terms. Go for 2GB especially if you want to run Vista smoothly.

  8. I'm looking to do a complete bathroom renovation, including new tiling, building of custom shower, new vanities with granite surface, etc. All in all, looking for a top class job and finish.

I would be interested to hear of recommendations for any bathroom designers in Bangkok, or perhaps some recommended showrooms which can handle the supply and renovation from start to finish? Are there any turn-key providers who can handle the design and fulfilment for this type of project?

  9. If the steps are followed as I outlined, the old user account would need to be deleted to prevent having two accounts. If the original poster is a novice computer user, creating a new account will probably be easier. Otherwise, of course, the same can be achieved by changing the permissions on the existing user. There are different ways to achieve the same result.
