When I was there 12 years ago I became friendly with a local who was a fringe worker on the island, he told me very matter of factly that the island was controlled by it's own Mafia,with the empathise on 'Controlled'. you have to take into consideration that most police are corrupt sorry to say and i have been coming to Thailand for over 50 years and that doesn't change

You must ask yourself why his nick-name is 'Big Joke' ? I would say self exoplanetary, like so many of these fools that put on a pretty uniform with lot's of 'Pips' and work to feather there own nest's.

As usual discrimination and racism on display in Thailand where they 'smile'as they rip you off..! not bad enough to openly display two cost's when you travel through a National Park or Themed attraction. WAKE UP THAILAND,your going backwards.

Take a few minutes and think about this, the Govt. will have a very tight control over the entire society and YOUR freedom is stripped from you in the blink of your eye. DON'T EVER AGREE TO IT..!

Put a 'Submarine' tax on all the Chinese that are coming to Thailand, also garnishee Prayut's wages and make him pay for HIS mistakes, I'm sure there was a nice little 'Backhander' in it for him in the first instance.

Thailand..! your discrimination is showing again, of course Thai men don't get aggressively drunk and want to fight. I try to understand Thai people and I've been married to a wonderful Thai lady for 50 years now and have been coming here now since 1966,however when i read articles like this it makes my blood boil.

Dreamer's,,,! every day they come up with a number and every day they get it wrong. First of all I'd get rid of the mandate that you have to be vaccinated to enter Thailand,it's costing you thousands of potential tourists.

Do Thai people pay the tax as well? or is it just another racist tax for 'Farangs' to pay? I have commented before about Thai Govt. implementing a tax on tourists but not on Thai nationals ( National parks of Thailand e.g),bit hard to say this is not discrimination when your wife doesn't pay but everyone else is slugged Baht.People aren't stupid and I've been coming to Thailand 50 years now (no exaggeration) and getting sick of being ripped off..! and to say it's for helping tourists,can't stop laughing,it will go into consolidated revenue e.g. Thai police'

I personally know 18 people who want to go back to Thailand but can't because of the stupid vaccination rule,the sooner it's changed the sooner your tourism will pick-up.
