I would go to BKK Speed (couple locations in Bangkok and try the Shoei there. Personally I was in the US and was checking out the Neotec 3, but it was just too heavy. I ended up with an RF1400. I don't think that is available here, but they have lots of good choices.
Not sure if Shark is Snell or ECE rated, but that is an important consideration. You only have onehead.

My helmets are quite expensive... I take them with me, along with the jacket etc... and then I'm also hot and sweaty etc..
so this contribute the fact that I'm riding less and less these days... Just to local chores..to play football etc.. (when alone)
If going to a shopping mall or dinner... its always with the car anyway as I'll be with my Wife (and she's 100% a no-go on the back of the bike - I'll risk myself to a certain extent but not her).
My wife rides her own PCX around our house, but I made sure to get a single seater big bike. No questions about who is on it.

Depends on the situation:
1. On my Wave in my soi - glasses, no helmet, shorts, flipflops
2. On my Wave running around pattaya - glasses, cheap helmet, shorts, flipflops
3. On my big bike running around pattaya - imported Shoei race helmet, jeans, riding gloves and shoes.
4. On my big bike touring - full riding gear even in the heat of summer.
I guess I am lazy, I am not spending 20 minutes getting dressed to go to 7 and get a beer, but an all day ride I couldn't imagine not having all the gear on.

I have been riding bikes, from trail bikes to motocross to street bike to superbikes for 45 years before I got a big bike in Pattaya. My rules are:
1. Ride for the slide. It is gonna happen and I am old now and don't want to hurt more than required.
2. Don't ride at night, that is when the drunks come out (on foot, bike and car).
3. In town, take the Honda Wave, much easier to wiggle around and stop.
4. Drive at speeds similar to traffic, fast lane splitting or shoulder riding is a guaranteed accident.
How simple is that??

A good idea. If there are many that want to get rid of them, why not assign 3 people to check and follow for 1-2 months and record all the violence and threats they see? It would cost the neighborhood about 20-30k to collect evidence enough. If it is as bad as you post, I would personally pay such thing myself if I were in your shoes.
There is a group monitoring them and keep the spot they hang out under CCTV surveillance. They used to live in the villa but lost their house to gambling. They live in a shack at the end of Soi 12 now, but do "business" at the entrance to our villa.

So, you say they abuse, children, women and animals equally. At the same time, you say the neighborhood is trying to run them off or get rid of them, right?
I must say, they do a very bad job if you can prove what you are posting.Well, the issue is they are trying to do it without the family being able to prove it, they are violent. The woman (mother of the kid that taped up the dogs and the woman who admitted to it) got into it with my wife and now we have to worry about the extended family. Luckily we know enough people that they haven't dared to directly attack my wife.

So it's not the woman who admitted to doing it? She just lied to cover up for the family?
Probably, they stick together. I just saw him yesterday riding down the soi, so he is still out and about.

Although it´s cruel, I can understand why as they might be barking all night. In an organized world, there would be no dogs running around barking, biting and chasing people in the cities.
I know the guy who did it and he and his entire family are all entitled pricks. Who knows what his motives were but he, and other members of his family, do dick moves like this to people as well as animals. They abuse kids, women and animals equally. The neighborhood is trying to run them off. They probably did not assist in the investigation for fear of retribution, but they are well known.

Who hasn't used their phone while driving ? I do quite often, and even send msgs, although when ever texting/typing on the phone, it's via the voice to text app, as typing on such a small device is annoying.
And don't even try to tell me, you've never used your phone while driving, as simply not buying it
Some of us, can multitask safely.
I am old enough to remember when the phone was in the house. I also remember when phones became portable and I used them while driving. I also remember when that became illegal and I stopped it. This century I have not answered a phone call or text while driving. Whoever calls can wait, I want to arrive in one piece. Multitasking is a BS excuse, traffic in Thailand is so erratic you have to pay attention to it 100%!

Hire a lady with a feather duster to keep the dust off, bonus if she is cute and wears skimpy maid outfit that can also perform polishing duties.
LOL - I am pretty sure my wife would not approve, but I like your thinking!

I just got a new bike, I bought a bike "tent" for it even though it is in my carport, I just ordered a battery trickle charger and am considering getting a de-humidifier to put in the bike tent to prevent rust. It is pretty and I want it to stay that way.

My friends and family in Aus and NZ have seen housing prices skyrocket into the unattainable as Chinese investors buy up property all over those countries. I don't think this law is trying to target Westerners buying one house for themselves, it is trying to prevent China from taking over and driving Thais to homelessness and poverty.

When I went to renew my non-o for marriage this year at Jomtien, they asked for a TM-30. As my company sends a law clerk to assist, he went over to the desk and got one. It was the first time in 20 years I have had to do that, I think they are increasing the scrutiny now.

Concerns my righ eye. I experience lower eye-lid "flickering". As if an electric current goes thru my lower eye-lid, causing "nervous vibrations". If comes and goes.
Eye-Doctor finds nothing wrong with the eye itself. Strange.I have had that issue in my left eyelid while driving for the last few years, I just chalked it up to being an old f$%cker

Blood pressure can be an issue. I had a similar situation a few years ago. When I sat up on the bed in the morning I felt a bit dizzy and sometimes when I reached for something high up I felt off balance. I'm 67 now and the first thing the doctor mentioned was blood pressure, hypertension. I'm ok now and it all went away. My blood pressure is good, not overweight. Just suggesting in may not be bad weather.
I started having a similar issue recently. I started checking my BP in the morning and it is critically high, even though I am on BP medicine. I immediately got an appointment with my cardiologist and will get it under control.

Mine is big enough to make me happy, and I don't get any complaints, so that is enough. worrying about your junk is pretty self serving. There wlll always be millions of guys with bigger junk than you have, but you can't change it (safely) so just make your way thru life and with what you have and make sure you can please her some way so you are both happy

Logic dictates that if you ban or alter something they should provide alternative parking solution for this ban being a holiday resort and destination unless they just don't care.
My wife told me that when they banned parking on the right side of beach road they told people to park in Central's parking. Not sure if it is true, but I have noticed an uptick of traffic in that parking lot.

I have lived here a while and travel a lot. Whenever someone says they are planning a trip to Thailand, the first thing I tell them is DON'T RENT A BIKE. If you are not an extremely experienced rider using a ton of common sense, just don't. I have 22 years riding a superbike before moving to Thailand and only by the grace of god I haven't had an accident in the 17 years I have been here.

My wife's friend and her English husband just went to The W hotel with their little dog, my wife said the pictures showed an excellent accommodation. I have stayed there once and it is an exceptional property.

I stopped smoking 3 years back, but people near me belching out clouds of vape smoke that I/we have do breath and smell is out of order and illegal...????
I wish it was that simple for me. As I have epilepsy, every time I have tried to quit smoking without an alternative I have serious seizure issues, Vaping has kept me from smoking and seizing. I consider it a win win. I promise I will vape far away from you.

Plus, users look tools.....????
I might look like a tool but my smokers cough is gone and I have only had one cold in the 5 years I vaped compared to every year as a smoker. It has been helpful for me, no smoking for over 5 years now.
