My neighbor's visa expires tomorrow and he is wondering which visa run is better?
Fly to cambodia for a week and return with a new 30 day TV
or try to find a visa run service this late to guarantee his chances of getting a return ticket.
He must leave tomorrow. Already had a 30 day extension and does not want to get the 7 days to leave denial stamp.
Which route is the best? Flying into BKK or land?

Yes they still grant 7 days to leave the country.
It is a small stamp saying the extension was denied. No problem for anything after getting the stamp.
No problem? I would think some immigration officers would mistakenly or subliminally be inclined to deny visa in the future if they see any stamp that says denial.

A friend of mine tried this last week and was denied due to insufficient evidence to extend 7 days!!. They had all his details already from his TV and 30 day extension but requested business cards etc. Very bizarre. He also said the officer was extremely unpleasant to deal with.
Maybe your friend had a bad attitude? So what happened after? Immigration jail?

You can apply for a 7 day extension, pay 1900 baht and be given 7 days to leave the country. It can be done for any type of entry or after getting an extension.
Why do you think that you cannot get another tourist visa?
My friend wanted me to ask if this thread is still relavent?
They still do 7 days denied extension time to leave?
Does it say a big stamp, denied extension?

Follow up,
The 6 month multiple entries visa has been nice. The first time back, there was a hesitation. Since, then I have traveled to Europe a couple of times. I always pack my bags as if I will be returned to the US. However, (with fingers crossed) 3 times entering the country has not been a problem.
I do spend $$, I don't work in Thailand. I do travel, by motorcycle, as much as I can. I have learned, don't give any red flags, then it's easy coming into the country.
The tourist visa gives 90 days, so no more 30 day stress.
I am going on my 3rd year of being primarily here. I find that I have less stress here than I do in the US. Probably because I can ride everyday. No politics and a wonderful fiance.
When they denied you, did they make you buy a plane ticket back or gave u one? lol
Can anyone summarize 18 pages of what happened? thanks

No, the embassy in Phnom Penh takes your money, puts the visa in your visa, and then stamps it void so it is no longer usable. Immigration at Poipet will not void your visa (they cannot do that). They will simply deny you entry anyway, telling you to return to a Bangkok airport, where worse might befall you.
In fairness, Phnom Penh is not as free with the voided stamp as South Asia consulates or Penang.
Ok if I fly out to Phnom Penh, stay a few weeks, go to thai embassy and get a thai visa and return to Bangkok, I will be denied entry? Sorry for the confusion and thanks for your reply.

Visa in passport with "Void" stamped across it, after taking your money. It happens a lot from Thai Consulates in South Asia, and also visas issued by Phnom Penh.
So after you get a visa from cambodia thai embassy, and go to the border or BKK airport, they will stamp void on it and you have to buy another ticket out? Why void it

Phnom Penh for example is known for issuing a lot of single entry tourist visas with voided stamps.
What do you mean voided stamps? Not allowed back in thai?

Never having any piece of mind anymore, always being scared and living in fear about the 'visa'.
I worry about the visa more then anything else. I have rich friends, 2 bought the elite but the rest of us think that is a waste of money and its not guaranteed

Be ready for not coming here much pretty soon. You can even feel it when going out and about. Something different is in the air. The way some Thais look at you or speak to you. Something has CHANGED.
I've noticed this a bit......
How many times do u visit her per 3 months or year?
Funny how they do not want anyone to come now. <deleted> is going on.

If you are not taking a thais job and doing it online, immigration does not care.

Works like a breeze now. My last order, for a dash cam, got delivered in a few days. On one instance they even refunded a couple of bucks, as the actual import fee ended up cheaper than their estimate. I'd say it becomes an interesting alternative to Lazada.
Lazada is like amazon?
Seems like a lot is used for "duties"

I would much rather shop online then waste time trying to communicate it stores.
Anyone buy online? Are there high fees?

Thailand is too unpredictable and changes by the day to invest any sizeable amount in any business here

Warning, Friend says Immigration Officers are enforcing on those that fly in and out trying to get a 30 day stamp visa.
Example, Fly to vietnam, stay a week and come back into thailand. Not get visa, spend night in jail and deported.Anyone had these experiences or did he piss someone off.

I will never forget how a mexican lady (back when mexico was good) found $4,000 euro in a pillow case that I had hidden. She left it under my pillow when changing pillow.
Shocked she did not take 2-3 years salary and run

"Get a lawyer" may be tongue in cheek, but it's also a warning that things you'd do back home without a second thought can get you in serious trouble with Thailand's defamation (and LM) laws combined with their computer crime laws. Saying anything that causes someone or a business harm can result in a lawsuit, and even criminal prosecution for defamation. Use a computer to get the word out, and they can pile on computer crimes.
Ask some Euro reporters how they've been doing with their stories about some Thai business practices. Stories that wouldn't have raised an iota of a defamation charge in the west, but could have resulted in long jail time for the reporters (and even those who repost someone else's stories)
so leaving a google review is jail time?
OP what city and hotel?
Being a cleaning lady in a 3rd world country is shit. Do not tempt them with money. She needed school uniforms for her kids or they can not go to school maybe.

All posts are excellent suggestions...especially getting the hell outta there FAST. No telling what danger you will be in. This is Thailand, you apply western logic with confrontation, the money you lost will be the value of your life taken away...Be careful. Many great suggestions though... Good luck whatever you do.
