  1. Hi all,

I will be exiting Thailand next month and renewing my passport with a new book and number in my home country.

My non-immigrant o visa will also be expiring whilst I am out of Thailand and I will be reapplying for a new single entry 90 day non-immigrant o visa from overseas.

Upon return to Thailand in a few months, I will be residing back at my current address in Bangkok. Given I will be on a new passport number, have a new TM6 card and new non-immigrant o visa, would I need to resubmit a TM30 with the updated information? I want to avoid any issues when I then go Chaeng Wattana for my 1 year extension so want ensure I have all the red tape properly covered and in order.

Thanks, for your help in advance.

  2. Just going through the Thai eVisa application process for a new non O visa single entry application based on marriage under my renewed UK passport from London and it is asking for a residence permit in the country of application as being mandatory even though I am a UK citizen. The exact wording is "Residence permit in a country in which visa application is submitted (In case that applicant is not a national of the country in which visa application is submitted.)". It doesn't let me submit my application without it.

Anyone else encounter this and if so what supporting document did you provide (another reupload of your passport or anything else?)? Really strange question.

On the same subject, is there a prescribed template anyone has used when getting a spouse letter is written for supporting documentation and accommodation invitation letter from friends/family? This is for the "Proof of accommodation in Thailand, e.g. Accommodation bookings, invitation letters from family/friends in Thailand" and "The letter from your spouse indicated that you both are still married and he/she acknowledges of your visit." requirements.

  3. Hello, I will be renewing my passport through UK VFS office this week in Bangkok, however it will overlap with my 90 Day Reporting in the coming month. I would like to understand whether I will be able to keep hold of my current passport for the 90 day report whilst I am waiting for my new passport to arrive?

I am currently on a Non O Immigrant Visa based on marriage.

  4. Hi, all I am about send my foreign passport that is about to expire for renewal. After I receive my new one, does anyone know what the normal procedure is to get the Bangkok Bank details updated with the new passport details to ensure everything is matching? Is it as straight forward as going to the local branch (EmQuartier in Bangkok) and showing my new and old passports so they can update?

Also should I do this prior to transferring my re-entry permit and entry of stay into the new passport at the IO? Just trying to figure out logistics of the whole process in renewing my passport and transferring visas etc. to try and ensure as a few things can go wrong as possible.

    Thanks,

  5. So it would be best to go to IO around the reporting time period it seems.

After the IO has updated the 90 day reporting, should it automatically update in the system so next time I can do it online? How do I get them to check it has. I am based in Asoke Bangkok and it would be a bit inconvinient having to go to Chaeng Wattana every 90 days and a bit worried using the postal system to get a form sent and turned around incase it were to get lost in transit.

  6. Hi all,

When you re-enter the country after a trip abroad on a Non-O extension of stay, I understand that your 90 day reporting period gets reset to 0. How is the 90 days calculated for when I then next have to report (i.e. does it include public holidays etc.) .

I assume there is no way to get a slip to say when you next need to report after you go through immigration at the airport right? Also I assume I would have go in person to the IO or do by post for my next 90 day report in this situation and not online. Is that correct?

I completed my extension of stay in Phayao last week. They wanted a copy of my latest TM30 which was almost 3 years old. All offices have different rules.

Ah ok, so did you just give them the printed copy of TM30 report that was 3 years old or did you have to go back and print a new copy with updated stays around Thailand? I am assuming that you hadn't changed your permanent address in 3 years...

  8. Hi, I have been resident with my Thai wife in the same household for the last year. My extension of stay application is approaching and am checking to see whether I would need to have a printed copy of a TM30 report when I go to CW.

I have been on a few local trips around Thailand during the year and my 90 day reporting is being completed on time every quarter. From my understanding based on an article I read last year, it is no longer a requirement for your landlord/house master to complete a TM30 every time you make short trip to another province for a holiday etc, so I am unclear if the IO will need/look at the report.

I have all the main documents listed ready for the application (TM7, house registration book, spouse Thai-ID, marriage certificate, bank book, photos around the house, house-master ID) and have ensured I meet the financial requirements. Is there anything else that I have missed?

    Thanks,

I had plans to revisit family in the UK this July, but due to the current situation, there are to many if, buts and maybe's on restrictions or conditions of re-entry at the moment. You should consider these possible issues also.

yes for this year unfortunately I am in same boat. I am just trying to prepare myself for the following year. I like to plan in advance as much as possible.

I doubt that immigration would give you until July 25th for the report back date,

You re-entry permit would be valid to the date your current extension ends. When you get your new extension stamp it would become invalid.

OK great and because I would be able to apply for my new re-entry permit at the same time as my extension stamp, I should be able to collect two stamps at the IO when I report back on the under consideration stamp date?

So based on all the information, from my understanding it would be better/more wise to amend my travel plans over the holiday period to after I got my permission to stay (hopefully!), as I would be able to then travel freely as I wish and I would have both my re-entry and extension of stay.

(i.e. I apply for extension of stay on 15th June and hopefully get a consideration stamp report date for 15th July after which I get hopefully both my extension of stay and reentry permit for the year).

Apologies for all the questions and everyone having to spell it out for me, I am still fairly new to this somewhat complex/confusing process.

What is wrong with a report back date of July 15th.

You wrote that you wanted to travel on the 20th. You would have your new one year extension by then.

Apologies if my message was not written clearly. What I was trying to say was if I was apply for my permission to stay on the 15th June and then travel on 20th June and I then wanted to arrive back to Thailand on say the 25th July, would the IO be able to issue me a reporting date beyond "the 30 day consideration" with a re-entry permit? FYI my permission to stay is currently set to the 31st July.

Also would I be right in assuming that my current re-entry permit I have that stamped would become invalid after my application for permission to stay is made?

  12. OK. So final scenario, if I was apply for my extension on 15th June, 45 days before my visa expiry at CW and let's say I want to travel on 20th June and arrive back on 25th July with rentry permit, would IO be flexible to set my reporting date accordingly? This would be before my visa expiry date.

  13. Hi all. I am hoping this should be fairly quick to answer. I got my 1-year extension on my Non Immigrant O Visa by marriage last year at CW and it its due to expire at the end of this July. I remember last year when I first applied for an extension that I got an under consideration stamp and had to go back to CW approximately 30 days after my application to be approved.

I am curious to know but does this happen every year you apply for 1-year extension? I am getting all the required documents together ahead of our visit to CW in mid June (we want go and get it renewed as soon as possible) so hoping we only have to make one visit to the office.

  14. Hi all sorry to bring this old thread back up again. Anyone else finding that if you do not use the Bangkok Bank mobile app or i-banking every 3 days that your PIN expires?

I have had to reset my PIN twice and logged in within 3 days of changing it in order to make sure that my PIN does not expire, however after that I then didn't check my banking app until around a week later and my PIN expired....
