  1. I hear one TH women married to 10 foreign persons so now they know the scam. So keep pictures of togather with child, home outside photo with address even if she is not there. Home address should be visible while 3 of you standing besides. Your wife can show job letter or school certificate orignal to show reason of being away.

Still it would be trouble free if she is there.

I’m in the Uk with the wife, she can’t beleive how cheap food is here, 1 gbp for a punnit of any fruit, 1gbp for 10 bananas, 2 gbp for palma ham and salami, 4gbp for a full cooked roasted chicken, 1 gbp for a litre of milk, 4 gbp for a 200g Nescafé gold coffee, the free range eggs are cheaper and gigantic here in comparison to those tiny Thai battery eggs and the list goes on etc etc etc.

She wants to move here now to live a better standard, I can’t blame her etc things do look rather cheap and lush here at the moment.

Are these fruits and chicken made in China? ????

  3. If we compare more then 12-15 years back THB was around same or lower rate 29/1usd but people survived. It is clear that even groceries are quite higher especially in last 4-5 years.

When its not enough money to spend then dont buy imported stuff. Let those fat supermarkets reduce their profits as well.

If go back to EU and start surviving on the same budget then one may only afford proceesed meat and Chez beer. So be kind to yourself by spending less and complain less.

Why come to Thailand if so fond of Australian cheese and cant live withtout it? The quality of MAKRO arrow cheese is good as well. Just a comparison by reading some comments of other members.

This is rice, seafood and pork appetite country where bread just become affordable in recent years and now locals eat more in fashion like drinking wine.

I know there are some Christians here. My wife and her family are Christian. But, she has never heard of the Pope. Are there alot of Catholics here? There are only about 750,000 Christians, from what I hear. How many of those are Catholic? Seems an odd place to visit.

His ideal place to visit is Latin America, where they are more Catholic then the Pope.

His visit for 35 years ..... makes no sense. After all he is not welcome anymore anywhere as he lost that zest due to keeping his mouth shut on the child molesters team of priest brothers. Plenty of money is also involved and no actions.

People earlier thought of him as a Massiah to make correctional decisions within the Vatican but never happened.

  5. Pope Francis was a hope not only to Catholics but to whole world to keep a balance between religions and for humens.

But regret to say that the corrupt Vatican team and the sex offender priest are of stronger lobby then the Pope. He simply could not do anything.

Sorry this is not to offend anyone but its reality.

TM30 really doesn't affect real tourists, as hotels are (should be) doing the reporting. It's only us long term moaners that suffer the inconvenience. I see the situation gettign worse rather than better. When was the last time an immigtation law or policy made life easier for expats to live here? None that I can remember. If a policy significantly affects tourist numbers, there may be changes, but I don't see it happening.

Actually in this forum TM30 is the prime discussion and an unknown fear is created for no reason. Your clarification is true.

  7. Well I dont know that clever person who wrote this article but mind it that tourist influx has nothing to do with terrorism. Article reflects that 2 nations under discussion for visa free might bring these problems. Its absolute BS.

Top tourist destinations does not even have police visible in public. It all has to be monitored by intelligent and efficient intelligence services. Just an example, how many police or paramilitary visible in public in Singapore, Dubai, etc etc ref for Asia as example.

  8. Iranians never stopped enrichment. They will make nuclear bombs sooner or later. It is the sanctions thats more frustrating for them. Europeans are just in a thin lane and would do anything to get their Iranian investments start to give returns

Just look at the shameless Macron and the Iranian FM visited same day to meet him after G7 meeting. He seems more focused on Citreon and Total.

Even if there is a new deal, still what is the solution:

    1. US Sanctions

    2. If they make after 5 or 10 years? In that region, there are already 3 nuclear powers bordering to each other and from a distance both Russia and Israel watching the show.

I think the regional countries should decide on this rather then the EU and the USA.

  9. What will happen to all the plastic industry?

The solution is to make garbage disposal in 4 categories for recycling:

    1. Food waste wrapped in plastic (to be burnt)

    2. Paper and plastic (recycle)

    3. Bottles (reuse)

    4. Wood material (reuse)

It is a matter of giving infrastructure to effeciently handle the process from collection to execution and also giving public awarenes to segregate these items.

Many times I have seen people just throw food waste also in recycling container but with awareness campaign they will catchup.

  10. Thailand was taken for granted by many retirees and long term stay without a residense visa as follows:

    1. Many worked without WP, earned by putting investment on Thai citizen's name, evade tax by doing so. Many provided false docs to get residense O

    2. Many lived more then 3-6 months on tourist visa and visa run was considered a legitemate option

Now the govt seems to be more focused on above. Hope all goes well for everyone. Good weekend.
