  1. Hi everyone! I had a Non-B before I left Thailand which eventually expired so I went to Vietnam to get a 2-month tourist visa, I just received my passport and the sticker's got a "VOID" stamp on it. I asked the officer if I can still enter Thailand, and he said yes, but no longer than 30 days. Another thing is, there is a Thai hand-written mark on the sticker that says "You are not allowed to stay longer than 60 days", so I'm quite confused. Has anyone been on the same situation as I am? Or even has any idea about this? Thank you

If you employer could get the application for the work permit done to get a work permit application approval letter from the DOE you could apply for a new non-b visa at a embassy or consulate.

I'm afraid this won't do as my Non-B will expire this 29th of July and she just told me yesterday that I can't apply for work permit yet since the immigration asked them for more documents and they can't finish it by the time my Non-b expires

  3. Hi! Can someone help me with my situation.

I live in Ayutthaya and I'm currently holding a Non-B visa, however, my employer failed to process my work permit on time. Now, they asked me to check if I can extend my Non-b visa, is it possible?

If I can't, the second option is for me to go back to Tourist Visa, and I'm thinking about getting it in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. I'm planning to go there by plane to save time, but return here by land travel all the way to Cambodia-Thailand border in Koh Kong.
Question is, how sure is it that I can get a tourist visa in HCM? Given that I have lived in Thailand since April last year.

Also, if I do get a tourist visa from HCM, will there be any problem entering Thailand through the border?

    Thank you.

If you have a multiple entry non-b visa issued by an embassy or consulate you would have to be leaving the country every 90 days anyway. No problems to leave and enter the country as many times as you want or need to.

Same if you actually have an extension of stay based upon working issued by immigration if you have a multiple re-entry permit.

I don't have a Non-B yet, but I think it would only be a single entry visa. How about that?

Your employer can apply using a WP1 and obtain a work permit approval letter. It normally takes a couple of days to get the letter.

You would have to be out of the country for them to use a WP3 form.

Ooooh, so we should prepare WP1 then since I'm already here in Thailand. Is the completed form the only requirement to get the letter of approval? No other documents needed when we go to the Ministry of Labor?

Unless you have a METV your tourist visa is invalid since you have used it.

It is possible to do a change of visa status to get a 90 day non immigrant visa (category B) entry based upon qualify for an extension of stay based upon working. No need to go out for a non-b visa if you can qualify to do it.

    See: https://www.immigration.go.th/content/service_72

I will surely check that link, thank you. One thing i’m also confused with, which form is applicable for me? WP1 or WP3? And how long does it usually take until they release the letter of approval? If you have any idea....

The embassy will not count you previous stays on a tourist visas and a ED visa against you.

FYI you have to apply for the non-b visa online at the Singapore embassy and you get pre approval before you go to the embassy.

Hi, user @ubonjoe! Thank you for the info.

Do you have any idea if I should do anything about my tourist visa before applying for Non-B?

I've read somewhere that one should apply for a change of visa (like from tourist to non-b) at the immigration first before the actual Non-B application?

  8. Hi guys!

My company wants me to get my Non-B Visa in Singapore. It's my first ever Non-B but I already have several stamps of tourist visa AND an Ed Visa (i canceled it after the first three months) on my passport. Would it be a problem? I'm quite worried about the approval of my Non-B in Singapore and getting back in Thailand as well ????
