For those critical of the farang's behavior, I think it was fairly restrained if one considers he got knocked down by the car. But yeah, yuk yuk, this isn't Kansas, so just dust myself off and wait till I get hit again. Geesus.

No apparent accountability. No mention of police involvement in the article. No apparent willingness to identify the company. No apparent willingness to identify the driver. An apparent effort to distort the photo that reveals the license plate. Yup others will certainly be deterred in the future by all this accountability.

The civilized way to handle a bill dispute would have been to call the police. In fact it appears that's what the victim tried to do. The video doesn't make a case for self-defense. I'd be mildly surprised under Thai law if one is entitled to use physical force or deadly force to resolve a bill dispute. The sad thing is if you go into some of these establishments you're very  vulnerable. This story is really ironic in lieu of the constant blustering by immigration about how many farang are such a problem here.

Well I guess they got the last European tourist that's in the country. all in an effort to enforce the letter of the law but do violence to its spirit. The bye poster is really classy. Low class.

I think of a goal, like making us all safer, then I take away reason and accountability which evidently leads to the T28 and the TM30.

I get it that plastic bags can result in damage to the environment but in my experience here in Bangkok, I shudder to think of what I would do without them.  Trash disposal would be a nightmare without plastic bags. If you think the smell, rat and roach problem is bad now, just wait until trash is put out in paper bags. I would gladly pay extra at the counter for a biodegradable plastic bag.

If you've got the 800,000 plus baht in the bank to get the retirement visa then it seems to me that would provide twice the medical coverage oficials say is required. Seems to me that the insurance policy is just piling on to the investment you make to live here.
