While you are here maybe observe all those smart foreigners.
Some meet a lady who tells them they are a hansom man and these guys actually believe it. It's hilarious.
And some are even crazier and invite their new lady friends to a trip to Pattaya to celebrate with lots of beer.
To be fair most of these idiots try to keep a low profile. And some even learn from their mistakes.
But then there are the guys who experience all this and then they go out to the bars to find true love.
You would think these people don't exist but they do. I read some crazy stories like this on TVF - hilarious!
she's not bad though to be fair????
i've seen a lot worse.

Whilst you may be salivating at something else yet again to complain and show your displeasure at here in Thailand why dont you give it a rest and take your negative Thai complaints elsewhere.
what is negative about my observation?
I say what i saw.
are you saying what I saw was negative?

As I am still in bangkok and will be till the end of the month I am going to post an account of the most bizarre things I see in the big smog on a regular basis..
Today was really something.
I was in a taxi, heading home after lunch with a friend in Ekamai.
I was stopped at the lights when these two kids (one about 12 and one maybe 5 or 6) came rushing past me on bikes.
The bigger kid was riding a PCX 150 and the little one was riding a kind of 50cc kids motocross bike.
Both had no helmets on and were chasing each other around the Ekamai intersection onto Phetchaburi road.
The little kid was pulling wheelies all over the road and the big brother was driving behind him, laughing.
My first thought was, 'where the hell are the parents?'
Dont they care?
If that was my kid I would be furious.
Of course to them it's all just a big joke.
The police box was literally 50 feet away.
No action was taken.
They Wouldn't find it very funny when he hits a lampost or ends up under a bus!!
The things you see in BKK.
Stay tuned for more as it happens!
(hopefully with pics next time!)

Odd i have heard this more this once. Foreigners eating at expensive restaurants believing the food is a higher quality and safer. Have you learned a lesson here?
I have also been poisoned many times by street food stalls. Its not just the so called quality of the establishment, its down to the carelessness of whoever is cooking!

Poor dear needs to go back to the good ole USA, a place where nothing bad happens, everything is good.
Poor food hygiene is a serious issue Colin.
Especially in developing countries.
Many people die from it every year around the world.
Food standards should always be heavily regulated to avoid such deaths and hospitalizations from under cooked and improper storage of food.

Why would you order a well done steak
I personally don't
I order mine medium (ie, juicy but no visible blood).
I was using the well done as an analogy.
I agree that well done steaks are typically very tough.
However, there have been times when I have ordered my steak medium and it has come back dripping in blood.
Therefore, I need to tell the server for well done. As it seems western medium and eastern medium are not quite the same thing.

Sounds like prison stuff.

Eating mostly in high end places is by no means a guarantee that you won't get food poisoning in Thailand.
But surely their kitchens should be better cleansed than say some street vendor selling pork on a stick?
That's just what I think.

It happens a lot.
Already been sick 4 times this year (bad stomach, diarrhea, vomiting etc.)
I don't eat anything out the ordinary (no dead fish, som tum, seafood etc)
and I mostly eat at high end places (except when eating local food in phuket)
Just coming off the back of yet another tummy bug,
this time I believe it was from chicken curry at a hotel restaurant in bkk.
within 5 hours of eating i was vomiting violently, with severe cramps.
What causes this?
Is it a lack of basic hygiene or is it something else?
anyone else get sick from food at least once a year?
I can safely say that from being a kid growing up in Nashville I never once got sick from food.
That only started happening once i moved to Asia.

Have you ever caught a train or used the MRT or BTS?
Both the MRT & BTS are private, for profit enterprises.
They are not nationalized.

Morning yall,,
having a chat this morning with my buddy over breakfast and we got onto talking about working in Thailand.
He has been working here since 1992 in the oil & gas industry and is about to retire this year.
I asked him how much does he reckon he has paid in tax over those years?
'Multiple millions of baht' was is answer.
That led me to question, 'so what do you get for that money?'
Of course, the answer is nothing.
Why should foreigners pay high amounts of tax here when we cannot claim anything back through the system?
We have no rights, no benefits, no government sponsored health care, no state pension.
A foreigner who has lived and worked here all his life, paid his taxes and social security gets absolutely nothing back in return.
Where is all that money going??
Seems to me it's for the birds.
Makes my 15,000 seem like a drop in the ocean compared to multiple millions..

I would love to see an episode of kitchen nightmares in Thailand!
Wonder if gordon would use greng jai or let the lazy chefs have it with both barrels!
