Rules about Canabis in Thailand by TAT . here the TAT text again from July 14th 2022 Bangkok, 14 July, 2022 – Tourists visiting Thailand should make sure they are familiar with the rules and regulations concerning the use and possession of marijuana and hemp in the kingdom, following the decriminalisation of cannabis by the Thai government on 9 June, 2022. Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health has designated marijuana and hemp as controlled plants, legalising cannabis with the aim of promoting it for medical and health purposes, and limiting its possession and use to people aged 20 years and above (unless they have permission from a doctor). The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) removed cannabis with extracts containing no more than 0.2 percent by weight of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) from its banned narcotics list. Extracts containing over 0.2 percent of THC are still illegal in Thailand. THC is the main psychoactive compound in marijuana. Importantly, it must be noted that smoking of cannabis in public is forbidden. The penalty for this is a potential three-month jail sentence and 25,000 Baht fine. The new cannabis policies permit production and consumption solely for medical or health-related reasons; not recreational purposes. The importation of products containing cannabis and hemp extracts, and hemp derived products, as well as any parts of cannabis and hemp, into Thailand is illegal. Households are able to cultivate plants at home with the registration on the designated application, and companies can also farm the plant with a permit. The Royal Thai Government places the highest priority on the safety and well-being of every visitor to Thailand. As the main government agency responsible for the promotion and marketing of Thailand as a preferred destination, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is working closely with all the concerned public and private organisations to ensure the utmost efforts to prevent any unfortunate incidents occurring on tourists and the local Thai people.

Are ALL people consumed Canabis and having it in their pockets out of jail in Thailand already? Just a question. . I see really strong Canna Buds EVERYWHERE now from a small shop in TESCO Phuket to a Food for Foreigner shop. They are selling the really strong stuff and this has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with CBD anymore or using it for health reasons. Its a drug and it should be banned to use in public, specially when people riding motorcycles or driving a car and to be honest, i dont belive they all take Taxis/TukTuks from now on. ???? . Phukets roads are dangerous enough and we all know there are plenty of ppl driving with alcohol in their bloodstream, I dont need half the world coming to Thailand and think they can have a joint after the other and causing accidents because obviously nobody in our government gives a rats anymore. . I use Canabis sometimes for medical reasons like tea, but dont tell me you are taking care of your health when you are mixing it with tobaco and smoke it! I smoked hardcore from the age of 16 until 25 and it did nothing good. Its making lazy and stupid, the only good thing is, people dont realize it because they are living in a dream world. The best drug is a drug free head! . When the government allowed Canabis, they was talking about MEDICAL Canabis CBD. The Canabis they are selling here are genetically enhanced strains, not created for medical reasons

PLEASE show me where you have this BS from because i spent MILLIONS of Baht since i am living here the past 20+ years for Land, HouseS, Cars, Motorcycles, opened a shop and provided work for a couple of Thais for years, and the usual living ... not to count for the money i spent for BEER wich is more expensive as in every other country in Europe. ???? unfortunately you are right, and i often see it exactly like that. Since i am coming here there was always other countries building stuff. Like the highway or toll road from Don Muang to CityCenter Bkk and a lot of other things. Since centuries they are talking about building a new train system or a normal transport system in Phuket, they even build Bus stations, for around 30million baht wich was never used by busses but are good shelter in bad weather. The guys on wheels in Thailand are too strong i guess, thats the reason for there is still no public transport system in Phuket. . and ANYWAYS I kind of have faith in our Prime Minister. You cant turn around things in 2 years which are usual since centuries. People are used to corruption and its often helpfull too. Many foreigners here yelling at the bribery but love to pay 1000.-Baht when stopped in a car or motorcycle while beeing drunk, instead of going to jail or losing the driving licence for a year. This things will stop sooner or later, and to be honest, i didnt move away from our retarded governments in the West to get exactly the same here!! ????

which highway??? how old are you and how long do you know Thailand? In 2010 or 11 even the former Kings sons Plane was chained in Germany because of exactly this missing payment!! I was once in a train when it was derailed and it took me 16h from Bkk to Surathani and another time for the same reason stuck between Khon Kaen and Udon somewhere, when the train supposed to arrive at 05:00 or 06:00 in Nongkhai arrived at 14:00 sorry i didnt read the rest of your text

actually its a shame for a country like Thailand, depending on some 2nd hand wagons and a Railwaysystem made more then 100 years as a present from England, not spending some more money into more enviromental friendly transport systems. . Sometimes i think they want everything for free, be it the highway in Bkk they never paid for, a motorcycle for the brother of the wifey or a new Railwaysystem sponsored by CHINA ???? . Thailand is one of the richest countries in Asia, but has 3rd world trains like somewhere in Central Africa. Phuket still does not even have access to the Railway system, next station Surathani is 300km away. Since i remember they are talking about it... ????

I spent millions of baht here since i am living here straight in 1997, build houses, supported jobs for Thais in my Restaurant, support a family up North, bought 4 cars, about 12 motorcycles and spent lots of money on everything one needs to make a living here, do WE get anything in return??? In return they make it more difficult for us every year here with lots of things. : Thailand, specially the TAT should STOP lying into their own pockets and focus on whats real important, bringing people into the country which SPENT money, not people using Thairoads for private race competitions or monkey business Russian "Dancers" Russians or people coming here without a buck but for the weather and to avoid another winter in Siberia. Monkey Business VISA shools do not help bringing the so called quality tourism back, specially not with a government changing its regulations every week. : the average working ppl needs to know in advance IF and HOW he can book a holiday and not with a risk of beeing locked into his hotel for quarantine again after arrival when booking a flight 2 month in advance.
