Have you tried giving them a call?

    Phone number on their webpage;

    https://www.lmginsurance.co.th/en/Products/Pages/Universal-Series.aspx

I did have that idea. When I call, I get a menu saying "press 9 for English" and a bunch of other options, but pressing number keys on my phone has no effect, perhaps because I'm calling from the UK? The menu keeps repeating and I never get through.

  2. I'm trying to apply for LMG's health insurance as one of my visa requirements, but I'm not having much luck.

I've downloaded their application form, printed it off, filled it in, and scanned it. I've tried sending it to a couple of their email addresses, but they aren't responding.

Has anybody had any dealings with LMG? What steps am I supposed to follow to successfully apply for some insurance with them? I would give up and use somebody else, but their annual insurance is way cheaper than all the other companies.

Go on the Thai Embassy website London rather than listen to opinions of people that do not really know!!. Uk citizens can apply online now for the new evisa. On there is a tool that shows what is available. Put in "ordinary passport" then reason for your visit. You will see STV is not available at all now. TR is, 60+30 days, then it's the non immigration 90 day version to extend a further 90 days. that can be done in Thailand.

Put in "ordinary passport". For "Purpose of Visit", select "Duration of stay no longer than 90 days".

You can now apply for an STV!!!

  4. What nighttime restrictions are currently in place in Phuket?

Am I allowed to travel 24/7, or is this prevented by a curfew? Also, I'd be interested to know if Phuket's remaining 7/11s are open 24 hours a day.

For my COE the Stockholm embassy required a return ticket.

Bought a refundable ticket to Singapore and it was accepted.

Has anyone who applied through the London Embassy been asked for proof of a return ticket? I was hoping that a one-way ticket would be sufficient.

Stay clear of Kamala Town in Phuket. Its almost entirely Muslim with loud spekaers calling them to prayer 5 times a day and night.  My friend bought there at Kamala Regent and ended up selling it cheap. Even the local convenience shops don't stock alcohol. Its ultra ultra religious !

The local convenience shops don't stock alcohol? How odd - a couple of years ago, there were several 7/11s selling alcohol, as well as the Tesco/Lotus and Big C, and the mom n pop shop on the main street.

Thanks for the posts from the people who are currently in Phuket, very helpful.

I know Kamala isn't "party central", a few hours of pool and beer is more than enough for me most of the time.

  8. I'm planning on heading back to Thailand via the Sandbox soon, and I was going to stay in Kamala, where I've spent time before.

Is there any nightlife to speak of in Kamala? I know officially everything has closed down. If I wanted a light beverage and a game of pool on a Saturday night, would I be out of luck?

  9. I'm planning on heading to the Phuket Sandbox soon from the UK. Getting a Single Entry Tourist Visa seems to be the obvious choice, but to do it I need the following:

    Confirmed paid flights

    Confirmed paid accomodation

    Confirmed paid covid insurance

Bank statement showing proof of funds

If I do all this, presumably I'd have to wait 1-2 weeks for the Visa to come back, then I could start applying for the CoE, which could also take several days. Is applying for an SETV worth the hassle?

I'm planning on staying in Thailand for several months, I'm prepared to get an ED visa or do whatever else is necessary.

There is no hiding from vlogging.  That defeats the purpose.  Just go to youtube and search "thailand vlog".  Boom, there they are.  So it's trivial for Thai authorities to figure out if you are vlogging in Thailand or not.  The more money you make from it the easier you will be discovered.  The only thing you can do is not post your full name to make it a little harder for them.  They can still figure it out though and of course they have your picture.

Why, were you thinking of grassing someone up?

I think this is one reason that Centrum Silver for Men is especially high in the B vitamins.

Yes, good multivitamins like this one can make a big difference to your health.

It's worth pointing out, though, that multivitamins and even special B-Complex vitamins typically only contain relatively small amounts of B1. Looking up the numbers, Centrum Silver for men contains 1.5mg of B1 (Thiamine). Standalone Thiamine supplements are usually 100mg or more per tablet.

Don't worry...your liver will fail long before your brain gives out

Well then, Wernicke–Korsakoff syndrome must not be a real medical condition. It's impossible to get it according to "Professor tonray", because your liver will always fail first.

    Quote

Wernicke encephalopathy and WKS are most commonly seen in people with an alcohol use disorder. Failure in diagnosis of WE and thus treatment of the disease leads to death in approximately 20% of cases, while 75% are left with permanent brain damage associated with WKS. Of those affected, 25% require long-term institutionalization in order to receive effective care

Look at how the doctors and wikipedia are colluding to scare people. Why, it's not even a real problem. "Your liver fails first" - everybody knows that.

OR you could just cut down on the alcohol intake.

Why don't you post that reply under every thread? Then we can close this forum. I had no idea it was so easy for everybody.

"Cut down on your alcohol intake, everybody!". Job done. They might as well shut down all the AA meetings too, now that you've shared your amazing insight with us all.

We could cure drug addiction worldwide if only "HuskerDo" would appear on TV and say "Stop taking drugs, everybody!". So long as we have "HuskerDo" here to state the bleeding obvious, we could solve all of society's problems.

  14. The NIAAA publishes that up to 80 percent of alcoholics may have a thiamine (B1) deficiency.

    Quote

Thiamine deficiency can cause brain damage and result in Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome (WKS), “wet brain.” It is most commonly the result of alcohol abuse

    https://dualdiagnosis.org/alcohol-addiction/wet-brain/

After one period of particularly heavy drinking, I began taking Vitamin B1 supplements (100mg), and I felt a lot healthier as a consequence. Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) is cheap and widely available. I'd recommend Googling "thiamine" "alcohol" and reading up on the subject.
