  1. Tickets booked - finally moving to Thailand

My wife, myself and our daughter are moving to Hat Yai

I would love to touch base with anyone living there (or who has lived there) for general questions and of course regarding children.

    Thank you

  2. I know this is and old thread but I have some interest and questions in this area.

Anything new or any contacts recommended for natural pregnancy and birthing in

Thailand would be great. I am a believer in it being natural (I know I'm a guy but so

is the expectant Mum). Looking into options and doing it natural and healthy etc.

Any thoughts or sites for me to pass on would be wonderful.

    Thank you

  3. realthaideal-glad to read your post.

I'm not stuck on the word organic and if lots of it is Mum and Pop type stuff that is cleaner thats all I want. :o

Mum and Pop meat etc available?

As I'm sure you know Monsanto is in Thailand (I did a check) so that alone says watch out for the chemicals (and the lies).

On thier site you can read articles on how GM is good for you!!!!!! crazy crazy bs

Its sad that the Thais are copying the sickly west.

Meat?? - grass fed non-medicated prefferably, if not organic a second. And I am not so concerned with certifications as to how its raised etc

Thanks!! feel better heading out that way again.

  4. Any info on organic in Pattaya yet???

I love the story of the wife buying produce that bugs will eat!

Anyone have experience with organic, especially meat, chicken etc in Pattaya???

    Thanks

  5. Chickenpox Vaccine Works LESS Than Half the Time

New study findings indicate that, at least among one group of children, the varicella vaccine is much less effective than previously reported.

Dr. Jane Seward, from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, and colleagues reported on their investigation of a recent outbreak of chickenpox at a New Hampshire day care center.

The outbreak in 23 children began with a child who had been vaccinated, contradicting the belief that such "breakthrough" cases are not contagious, Dr. Seward noted. The child, a 4-year-old, was confirmed not to have developed chickenpox infection from the vaccine, but probably developed it after exposure to a sibling with shingles.

Previous findings indicate that the vaccine's effectiveness ranges from 71% to 91%. In the current study, however, the effectiveness that was only about 40%.

    ----------

The medical literature has a surprising number of studies documenting vaccine failure. Measles, mumps, small pox, pertussis, polio and Hib outbreaks have all occurred in vaccinated populations. , , , , In 1989 the CDC reported: "Among school-aged children, [measles] outbreaks have occurred in schools with vaccination levels of greater than 98 percent. [They] have occurred in all parts of the country, including areas that had not reported measles for years."

The CDC even reported a measles outbreak in a documented 100% vaccinated population. A study examining this phenomenon concluded, "The apparent paradox is that as measles immunization rates rise to high levels in a population, measles becomes a disease of immunized persons."

A more recent study found that measles vaccination "produces immune suppression which contributes to an increased susceptibility to other infections." These studies suggest that the goal of complete "immunization" may actually be counter-productive, a notion underscored by instances in which epidemics followed complete immunization of entire countries.

Japan experienced yearly increases in small pox following the introduction of compulsory vaccines in 1872. By 1892, there were 29,979 deaths, and all had been vaccinated.

In the early 1900's, the Philippines experienced their worst smallpox epidemic ever after 8 million people received 24.5 million vaccine doses (achieving a vaccination rate of 95%); the death rate quadrupled as a result.

Before England's first compulsory vaccination law in 1853, the largest two-year smallpox death rate was about 2,000; in 1870-71, England and Wales had over 23,000 smallpox deaths. In 1989, the country of Oman experienced a widespread polio outbreak six months after achieving complete vaccination.

In the US in 1986, 90% of 1300 pertussis cases in Kansas were "adequately vaccinated." 72% of pertussis cases in the 1993 Chicago outbreak were fully up to date with their vaccinations.

its largely what we choose to believe and who...

    peace

  6. I believe the mothers health, and fathers health at time of conception-though other aspects if around Mum during pregnacy, is extreamly important to the health of the baby.

Ask anyone that breads animals and they'll tell you. Sadly its barely considered with humans.

Anyone can get pregnant and have unhealthy kids...

About 1930 a book call "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration" -Weston A Price was published thatt clearly shows the links of health in the parents and health of offspring. Of course the focus is more on food. This book will blow anyone away and every single person in the health profession should read IM

It shows a clear link. Toxins in the Mother WILL effect the baby.

    Mental will effect too

The hearts electromagnetic field can have an effect of around 30 feet.

The Mums heart plays a role in the babies heart and health...but others around will effect baby too-be careful who you let get near you IMO

Mental, emotional-even from a sgtrictly western science point of view-all chemical reactions. You can't pretend that doesn't effect the child.

Eating processed food, drinking regular or worse yet diet pops or other sugar waters like juice, being negative, depressed, angry, around others like that, intake of toxins, imbalance of stress (mental/emotional, physical, hormonal, electromagnetic, financial, relationship, work etc etc etc) all add up

Many natuve cultures would prepare women before marriage. They would feed them a different way and get them health and strong to ensure a health offspring.

Women won't like this one but-birthing wasn't hard for them either...not while they were on thier native diets (and not processed crap).

Eskimo women wouldn't even wake up thier husbands. Just pop it our and introduce when he woke in the am.

N American Indian women would just go off into the bush with a sis or mum and come back 15 min later with the new baby

(never mind babies didn't cry hardly at all)

But with the introduction of sugar and processed flour etc they started having these very long and painful labours. There was a doc that lived with the Indians for about 30 years in and around the time of 'white mans' food starting to creep in.

When they started eating processed garbage the degeneration (and birthing probs began).

The degeneration shown, in part, of narrowing of the face and and hips in females-leading to even more birthing probs.

So this study above shows the effects of the mothers health on the baby.

But will anything come from it in the big picture. Or will it only be looked at in regards of interest how those crazy times effect babies??

Price also showed convincingly how the peoples on thier native diets were happier and more independant. Contributed more to village, tribe etc

He even looked at identical twins when one went to work for white man and ate his food.

No, sorry its not all genetics IMO

Off topic?? maybe.. but related to health of mother and child and sorry but shouldn't we be trying to have healthy children??

  7. Digestive problems (breaking wind)-you don't know how many times I've heard that. Many a trainer has bad gas and promotes one of the products causing it...

Its cool that you are aware enough in your body to notice this.

Its important for anyone, especially with blood sugar issues, to get protein, fat and carbs in every meal. The ratios and which ones vary for individuals but no one will do very well on just carbs or just protein etc

    http://www.diabetes-normalsugars.com/

I just found this sight by looking for the name of the book "Dr Burnsteins Diabetes Solution". I have not read yet but it came recommended by people who get results with some of the most difficult cases in many areas.

Basically he had diabetes and cured himself...then went to med school to prove how he did scientifically.

Diabetes is so largely diet and life style...

I would suggest not eating many grains like many docs recommend for diabetes (at least around here) get some protein and fat and carbs in every meal.

  8. Different thoughts as to causes and steps to take.

If you subscribe to the medical modle then look a little at the vaccination (hopefully from more than one angle as well as more than one person).

If you think there may be more to it... I know many people who have gotten rid of allergies and asthma etc by changing diet and life styles.. sugar, grains, alcohol etc are big ones

water and salt are both big players in histamine regulation as well.

If you are interested in any reading or a suggestion how to find someone that may help (only if you are willing to make changes in your life) feel free to msg me.

for a good place to read articles on vaccines from many sources go to

www.mercola.com type in vaccines in the search and you'll likely have 100s of articles to choose from

you may find info on the specific one you are considering.

    good luck :o

  9. I personally wounldn't drink 95+% of the protein drinkns out there if they were free.

They don't get digested well and create issues in digestive system. IMO

I use to take some of the best quality ones I knew of (there are a couple ok ones I've found since but last time I had was after having wisdom teeth out). you want to know what a tell tail sign is?? Bloating, gas, burping, the shape, colour and consitancy of your stool etc..

Now if you eat lots of stuff that isn't right for your body cutting one out might not makle a very obvious difference. But we have experimented with re-introducing (a few of us) after learning what it does and the proof was in the pudding.

My old trainer (trains pro athletes) always had gas (big on the shakes after a work out)

Another guy I studyied from that worked with loads of pro and olympic athletes that promoted the use of shakes made a comment at a party that if you're healthy you fart alot.

Quite frankly I believe that burping, farting, bloating etc etc are signs that something you are eating isn't right and or you have digestive issues.

In my experience, with myself, friends, my trainer, my training, and with clients getting them off of shakes leads to improved digestion. (if its not getting absorbed properly then your not getting much out of it anyway and wasting your money.

Thats what my experiences up to this point cause me to believe anyway.

  10. I think what kind of filter is the question.

As a rule I don't drink tap water in any country (though some have actually improved).

Bottle water-it certainly true much is no better or different than tap and possibly worse. Howevere some, IMO, ARE certainly better. A little research and finding out a good company might be worth it.

  11. kow jai krap. :o

basically I agree in much of the premise..

But I have to stand on all stressors, good and bad need to be added up. If the over all stress load is too high then adding another stress is detremental IMO Even a good stress like exercise.

  12. High intensity will certainly get you a lower body fat % be it swimming or running or weights etc IMO

I think the caloric balance is a little simplistic though...

If one doesn't take enough in they woll loose weight fast (weight always used instead of fat-or do you want to eat up your muscle too??-which 'burns' fat all the time).

Not enough in and too much out (like over doing aerobics) puts the body in a catabilic state and it will burn muscle and store fat...

Look at all the fat aerobics instructors (soft, flabby) that do 4 or 5 classes a day.. hmmmm

Charles Poliquin calls it Fat Aerobics Instructor Syndrome (if memory serves-along those lines)

Eat right for your metabolic type and make sure your body is in an over all anabolic state.

I do believe in higher intensity over all but it also depends on the catabolic/anabolic balance in the body.. If the body is too catabolic then adding exercise is just killing you faster IMO Too much stress plus even a good stress is even more stress.

    IMO

ayakiawe-It tastes so good too lol Thanks for the info

john-I strongly agree at least to looking at the source.. now that said cause its a 'medical' study doesn't make me jump in... very few are really independant..

But yes I think the source is HUGE

Good exercise and bad diet won't work...at least not for long... You may or may not be fat but health will catch up one way or another... then shit happens and we go for drugs and opperations and we think docs are our heros...hmmm

  13. With you MrPlum..

I wouldn't trust anyone that garanteed being 'cured'.

Many factures and a good program should look at and come from many angles even if you are going with the western medical model (your immune system fights cancer your whole life-once you got it no sense getting the immune system working again now is there...) Health could at least be a consideration along with the western approach, no?

No evidence... hmmmm Well the drug companies certainly aren't paying for the evidence. I would suspect people that are now cancer free may have a different opinion. Of course there is no money there..

I know more than one person that is now cancer free thanks to correcting life styels and restoring health.

I am actually off to a funeral for a relative that died or cancer soon..

  14. There are times and places for everything. All I'm saying is I think opening our eyes and being responsible for our own health and looking at where info comes from.

Sick people after need drugs and vaccines as was mentioned above. Is a lessor of evils when things have progressed that far towards death and deacay and away form health and vitality.

There is always a time and place..

Imagine if people were fed healthy, had good water and sanitation and hygene...would these things be such an issue? Would vaccines be essential for survival?

I'm sure there are many wonderful people doing wonderful work. Thats great.

    I'm not knocking that.

But the whole concept of vaccinating the world and for everything and everyone is flawed IMO

The people in the trenchers may be doing saint like work. It doesn't mean that the money and the game and plan to litterally vaccinate everyone isn't flawed, biased, or financially motivated.

Two views can both have truth. There doesn't always need to be a right and wrong :o

I just think we should look for ourselves and not blindly follow 'experts' who like it or not ARE influenced in many ways, if nothing else, in that most studies are funded by the people that profit of the results..

(according to The Ecologist 75 out of 15,000 food and drug researchers were independant... I don't know about you but when someone tells my what is healthy and safe and good for me...I'd like to keep conflict of interest at bay)

    A time and place...

In your proffessional opinion what would happen if the millions in research and cost of vaccines etc etc were put to good food, clean water and health (not sickness) programs.. Do you think there woul dbe the same need for vaccines???

    A time and place...
