So, just for public knowledge... the font used by the Quebec Vaccination QR document is Deja Vu Sans and the one on Canadian Vaccination QR is Liberation Sans...

Just got my Thailand pass QR-code for entering Phuket on the 6th of November. Applied for it today at around 09:00am Berlin time. Took from application till approval around 6hrs.
Uploaded following documents (got jpg through making screenshots of the pdfs):
-
Printed Vaccine certificate (yellow book: 1st page and page with the covid vaccines) as one jpg file.
You can place that on one page with MS Word - EU digital vaccine certificates (exported pdf files for the 1st and 2nd shot via CovPass app)
- PRE-PAID SHA PLUS HOTEL CONFIRMATION. Entered the SHABA-id in the booking no. field
- Health insurance policy with sufficient coverage in Engish
- Passport as jpg file
Helpful tool to convert pdf files to jpgs: https://www.adobe.com/acrobat/online/pdf-to-jpg.html
To circumvent the api errors i started google chrome on my macbook through a terminal window with the following command:
open -na Google\ Chrome --args --user-data-dir=/tmp/temporary-chrome-profile-dir --disable-web-security --disable-site-isolation-trials
See here for other operating systems: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17679399/does-disable-web-security-work-in-chrome-anymore
I had to add one blank behind my passport no. otherwise the system rejected me (no. already in use).
Now having a ????
Quite lucky since I haven't even got my coe pre-approval yet.
Did your vaccination certificate have passport number?
If not, did you manually add it?

The Thai Canadian Embassy called back... they are saying it should work even without the passport number on the vaccination card...
Her answer "Of course Sir, not all information will be on the vaccination document, if your name and date of birth is enough"
I will try to send it normally and hope for the best I guess... I do have a handwritten paper with vaccine information here, I could just write passport number on it as it is a pretty non-useful document for Quebec/Canada...

This allows me to submit my details but I got an error saying 'Passport already used', so I went back and added a space at the end of my passport and it worked!!!
Also got an email confirmation but I'm bloody travelling on the 7!!!!
They have been saying for a long time now to allow for 7 days of processing time, I hope for you they will be quicker than expected... the whole process is pretty stressful to be honest, between lack luster information and convoluted process, they are really pushing the the tourist will to travel.

I called the Thai Embassy in Canada about that issue, waiting for them to call back, we do not have the passport number on our vaccination certificate either...
What a convoluted system... need all that info, so you need airline, hotel, certification, insurance and you do not know if Thailand will accept... so you basically roll the dice and hope it will work and if not you are screwed with plane tickets you cannot cancel on most instances and if you need to re-schedule you will have to redo the whole process.
They ask too much for the PASS... remove the dates, remove the flight number, just verify if people are qualified and then ask for more information later... what is wrong with them.

Except Indians have been faking vaccine certificate and covid-free results for months... no one should trust documents coming from India...

I am insured from a Canadian insurance company for $1M, it includes Covid-19 related medical expenses, it is pretty deep in the documentation though, how do I prove to the immigration agent that I have coverage for Covid-19 ?
Do you guys have any idea? I am guessing the insurer will not accept to write a letter, I will talk to them tomorrow but it seems complicated to say the least. Oh, and here (Quebec) they charge around $200 for a PCR test and only in big cities... lovely.

If infected persons were found among STV tourists, the operation will not proceed to the second phase, or even the third phase that would allow tourists to travel freely, if they are proved to be free from infection.
This is nonsense, if all tourists are Covid free, why are you requiring the quarantine and the multiple tests? In my opinion, if tourists are found to have Covid, it would indiquate their protocol during this pandemic is the right one... Why are they asking for insurance if they will just scrap the whole thing if a tourist have Covid? The government should have a protocol on how to handle tourist with Covid right now, do not wait until you have one... penalizing everyone for 1 tourist is such a knee jerk reaction.
"Do not worry we will handle the situation if a tourist is found to have covid during quarantine, it will not disrupt the future of the STV project" is a much better message than "We will stop everything if someone coughs, so don't plan coming here"

Quarantine is fine, better safe than sorry, everywhere the second waves are pushing everyone back inside, Thailand should stay careful.

I don't understand this forum, why are everyone so salty ? All of Asia is closed down and the only country opening to "some" tourists is Thailand, they are not looking to resume mass tourism and it is 100% understandable, I would be glad if other countries would do the same protocol as Thailand and I do hope Thailand can show the way to other neighboring countries. The 90 days minimum is a bit weird for me but I would love to quarantine in Thailand and be able to travel in neighboring countries after that time.
Thumbs up Thailand, you are doing something no other Asian country is doing : Trying.

I would go with HSBC which have a big Asian / NA presence.

Thai hotel body should work on a plan to house quarantined people for a reasonable price with the government. Look at the Philippines, not saying they have the best way to deal with Covid (far from it) but tourist (long time visa holder) get tested, sent to their hotel for 24-48h while they get their test result. Tourist have to make sure they "can" stay at hotel for 2 weeks if someone in the plane test positive.
Thailand should try to cater to long-time visa (90 days+) travelers, they are the one who will not mind staying 14 days in quarantine if they need to... If they want mass tourism of short stay, that will be spell doom on re-opening the country.

Wow, for a newbie, you've certainly got all the old Thai Visa cliches off pat.
It is the same all around the world, you either follow the law or you get the boot. Sure the TAT may be stupid on a lot of rules / laws but overstaying and breaking the law is not the way to make thing go forward or helping every other law abiding expats.
-
Play by the rules or risk getting caught, you are a guest in that Country, Thailand does not owe you anything more than a limited stay. If you are not happy about it, find another place to visit / stay / mooch.
-
My problem is that they can outright refuse entrance to the country if I do not have the return flight ticket (or outbound ticket) within 30 days. Depending on the flight I catch, I could leave BKK at 1:15 in the morning on Dec 1st (could easily check my baggage before midnight) but the immigration agent could just outright say NO, it is 31 days... I guess it depends on how friendly the agent will be.
-
So my date of arrival would be November the 2nd?
-
Hi, I am planning a trip to Thailand, I am from Canada, based on my research I can stay 30 days without a visa.
My flight would be arriving at BKK on the 1st of November at 23:55; if I wait until 00:00 to get over the immigration process, will they date it as arriving November 2nd?
I plan to stay until the 1st of December, that would be 30 days if they date the arrival the 2nd but 31 days if they date arrival on the 1st of November. The difference in airfare price is around $500 dollars or 12 hours layover in Shangai so the dates are pretty important.

Not bad but your font choice is not the right one...
edit : After inspection, it is pretty close, I guess it is only the last r from "passport number" who looks a bit weird but should be close enough...
