Still confused about vaccine availability / waiting times
ThLT replied to Badger18's topic in Chiang Mai
You're really not getting the point I'm trying to get across? There is a queue of 4-6 months for Moderna because there are not enough doses. Vaccines are scarce for Thai citizens. Some have not even gotten their first shot. And you want "boosters every 6 months".... in a country that you are not a citizen and that is lacking in vaccines. -

Moderna is available paid. However, there is a 4-6 month queue. But again: vaccines are scarce for Thai citizens. Many have not even gotten their first shot. "Boosters every 6 months"—while people are still waiting for their first shot—is a bit pushing it. -

You want a booster every 6 months? You want a booster? And you want something other than Sinovac? And you want it "while you're here"... as a tourist? For free? Vaccines are scarce and some people haven't even gotten their first shot. And like you, many Thai people don't want Sinovac. -
Borders aren't open. Since Nov. they only allowed tourist to come into Thailand.

What you're talking about is a bachelor's degree, correct? Because you can't teach at a school without one. You need the originals. Diploma and transcripts. You need to have your diploma/transcripts certified by your embassy. Although it depends on your nationality (but you haven't mentioned it). SETV (single-entry tourist visa), visa-exemption, or VOA (visa on arrival)? You're not saying your visa, or your nationality, or things like that. It's difficult to help you without basic information...

403,235 krathong baskets collected from waterways across Bangkok
ThLT replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
How does that make any sense? The government has a secret motive to increase the numbers of gratongs collected? ???? -

They probably weigh a few wet, and then weigh piles, or count the number per m3 by volume for example... Different way of counting. Still counting though. -
Did you read the systemic review? Find other studies. Or even better, talk to a medical professional. Yes, good for your back. Sleeping on an overly hard mattress (or door?) is probably the other extreme, though, and equally as bad. I read that overly hard surfaces are difficult for those with hip issues. Anyway, I would maybe talk to someone more knowledgable like a medical professional before investing in a $2000 mattress. But it's your choice. I just know that soft mattresses are usually unhealthy, especially long term. They just bend your spine in whatever way, based on whichever parts of your body are the most heavy. Cheers.

https://www.sleephealthjournal.org/article/S2352-7218(15)00140-0/fulltext Yeah, sure. But taking into consideration health of your back is important. If a soft mattress worsens any back issues, and you end up 2x worse in 2-4 years, or develop back issues, that comfort isn't that great. You need comfort and health.

Desperate Situation During Pandemic
ThLT replied to JaydenL's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If he would be vaccinated he could get a SETV and VE stamps at least, when borders will open. Or going back to his home country to get a METV, or a volunteer visa, or ED visa, or B visa... Without getting vaccinated, he's: 1. Almost completely screwed, or... 2. Has to do 3-4 weeks of expensive quarantines every time he takes a single step out of Thailand (that is, if he has the money) -

Avoiding getting vaccinated is what is causing everything to not work. Get off those conspiracy theory websites. They are filled with false non-sense. You're doing this to yourself. This isn't your own country. You have to follow the rules if you want to stay here. That's the reality of living in another country. There is no situation in the near future where you will be able to travel/go to an embassy outside Thailand without being vaccinated (unless you want to stay in expensive quarantaine hotels for a total of 3-4 weeks every time). Like another member said, get vaccinated, get a proper visa, finish your degree, get a job in Thailand, find ways to support yourself and your partner. And start thinking. -
I'm trying to get vaccines. However, there are issues for some people, for example: Sinovac and Sinopharm aren't accepted in many countries (so even if you are fully vaccinated, but one of the doses is Sinovac, you will be considered as not fully vaccinated/unvaccinated). Some countries don't accept mixes (although more and more are). (Also, blood clots with AstraZeneca are mostly common with younger adults.) Accepting what you are offered is not a good idea for some people and in some cases. Some would even prefer to pay for their vaccine shots, but even that seems to be difficult (with Moderna, taking a lot of time and other difficulties, for example). From what I've come across, these are some of the vaccine options in Thailand at the moment: - Sinovac - AZ - AZ - Pfizer - AZ - AZ - Moderna - Moderna (Bangkok/Chiang Mai, private hospitals, around 4000฿ for 2 shots) - Sinopharm - Sinopharm (Bangkok/Chiang Mai, paid, private hospital) What are current vaccine options in Thailand at the moment (please mention province, if free/cost)?

When will the visa runners return?
ThLT replied to misterworldwide's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The border needs to be open for two countries, not just one. ???? Right now only the Thai border is open. -
To BITE the Bullet. How many of us are, these days, biting the bullet, and just hoping that things will improve soon, before our lives are ended, even without experiencing any further pleasure, just waiting for the world to recuperate?.

New vaccine combo injects hope for Thailand’s battle against COVID-19
ThLT replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If some get AZ-Pfizer, and some get Pfizer-AZ. . . then why not simply give AZ-AZ and Pfizer-Pfizer instead?! No need for vaccine cocktails! -

Quit Job, Options to Stay in Thailand
ThLT replied to mark333's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Depends on your current visa, but I imagine you're on a Non-Immigrant B visa. Maybe you can do "extensions based on studying." However, I have zero knowledge of this. Maybe this is possible. ubonjoe or other members could confirm more details about this. This would be legal. Going from B visa to ED visa without leaving the country, like you said, would be illegal. -

The NGO visas are likely done under the table (illegally). That's why visa agents charge 20,000 THB or more for them. If you get caught, could get blacklisted. ED visa is legal, but you have to have X number of hours of Thai lessons each week. But still depends on your current visa, and you need to check/research if you can change to extensions based on studying. COVID extensions are a good option, except no one knows when they will stop. They cost 1,900 THB and need to be extended every 2 months. Continuing at your job is also a good option, for ฿ and especially for the visa. With COVID, no one knows what will happen with visas. A work visa is an insurance in a way, maybe worth enduring the issues at work.
