All succinctly put and helpful - appreciated.
Whilst here - is it acceptable to live on these year after year or frowned upon ?
I would have no problem with the quarterly exit/returns with the advantage of no bank deposits or immigration so a bit surprised more people don't do this - especially the ones who claim to have such a torrid time in immigration (I don't know any personally but there seem to be a few on here)

OK the Non-Imm O multiple entry vis is for a year but can be extended to 15 months.
My quick question is, is there any risk to that or is it a slam dunk ? ie is there ever a reason to deny it the extra 3 months ?
Finally if extending the 12 months to 15 months just before the expiry, is there any risk in doing that at BKK airport or does it make no difference whether done at land crossing or air.
Thanks

There was a technical issue at the beginning of July with Bangkok Bank, therefore transfers were directed through Kasikorn.
It's was resolved shortly after and transfers continue through BKK.
TW cannot guarantee 100% that transfers can always go through you preferred choice of banking partner if a issue arises. BKK, KK and TMB still all remain their banking partners.
OK fair enough that timeframe does tie in, but its odd then that 'Nana' was completely unaware of this and make quite definitive statements.
Still as you say hopefully ok now

Last month sent 100,000 via TransferWise to my Bangkok Bank account - turned up as domestic on my statement. Annoying but I just put it down to a cog in the system getting clogged up. Sent another 100,000 to hopefully rectify it - domestic again.
I phoned their UK helpline and spoke to 'Nana' - she informed me that TW have now changed their partner bank from Bangkok Bank to Kasikorn. (She didn't give me a date but the 'now' bit would suggest recently and whilst they still will continue to work with Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn is their partner bank for Thailand with the others 'associate' banks. She was a bit vague on whether Kasikorn should be my first preference now instead of Bangkok Bank.
She was au fait on the importance of this to expats living in Thailand and said that whilst she would put a note on my account that I would like it to show up as international transfer, she cannot guarantee it (incase of a temporary liquidity problem etc).
So you might want to be checking those entries for a while.

Nice - come to a foreign area and slaughter the local wildlife for kicks !!
Lovely person !
If spearfishing is not bad for the environment - please explain how it benefits it - killing for fun is moronic.
(the sea is not a 'fishery')

High Thai Baht (which hurts the thais more than the self serving expats) affects customer service how ?
There are thousands of shops you can print something off in less time than it would have taken you to whinge about a problem that doesn't exist

The wife and I want to give back to the local community. How can we do this?

I bought my local football team their entire squad kit based on the colours of the team I support back home.
When I then went to see their next game wearing it ready to feel full of pride, they trotted out with my name blazed across the front as a thank you to me !! <deleted> up the design completely !
