  1. hi Jeff, i have true visions UBC, its great for the British premier league, I have the gold package which covers most of the footy apart from 1 or 2 matches. I usually get about 5 or 6 games to choose from on a saturday night.

  2. This Dog cage is still up for grabs if anyone wants it free! Boater didnt come to collect it so if anyone wants it send me a PM please!

This is a great cage, big enough to hold 2 large dogs. ideal if you dogs chew stuff or if they just need somewhere to stay safe when you go out. It cost me a few bob to have it made. but you can have it free.

if no one pms me in 2 days i will give it to the security guard :o

  3. i have a large dog cage made from steel and has wheels on the bottom, its about 2 meters x 1 m but it was hand made, and is designed to take apart flat pack for transportation. has 2 doors on it and easily fits 2 large dogs in with plenty of room.

Its free to anyone who wants it . item is located near heroines monument. pm me for details.

  4. Haven't used them but maybe try Siam Home Service 076 527 594.

We were quoted 8k from Andaman Shipping to move from Phuket Town to Paklok (20km) - about the same (our share of the cost of a large truck) we paid to move from Chiang Mai to Phuket!

When we stopped laughing, we hired a pickup for a day & did it ourselves.

  5. My English b/f got a 3 month B visa (same as mine above - passport was fine, thanks), now has to get another from Penang - which should then be extended for 12 months if possible.

For the 3 month visa, he has been given the same company paperwork as before & a copy of previous 3 month wp, but no work permit application receipt. Do you need one the 2nd time? And should he take original wp also?

    Thanks

  6. I lived in the North East before I moved to Thailand, I couldn't find any professional tutors either. I started learning from a book/CD from library, but didn't really get it until I came here & could speak & listen to Thai people.

Its probably best to learn from a book & practise with a Thai person - maybe try advertising in paper or colleges/unis for someone to help you. Its not ideal, as they won't know how to teach you properly, but you could learn the basics. If you're going to move here, I would advise learning to read & write as early as possible - it really helps.

Lots of good websites available too, listed on language forum somewhere.

    Chok Dee (Good Luck!)

  7. Had quite a few pm's so il just post the details here about that lake, dont know why i didnt in the first place haha. Its called toons fishing park, and its next to heroines monument in thalang, if your at the roundabout and heading towards boat lagoon (phuket town direction) its about 2 k in that direction on the left hand side. good days fishing very well stocked. i think to fish for the giant arapima is a lot more than 600 baht because the fish die when you catch them :o which sucks in my opinion. hope this helps .

Markful, i would have a ride up and watch the peeps on sarasin bridge, see what theyre doing to catch them. infact im going up too sounds good heh. Aye mai khao beach is much deeper, and is quite dangerous this time of year i hear.

  8. Hello mate. Have you thought about freshwater fishing? theres some good places here where you can go for a days fishing, and catch a big catfish, or theres a really nice place near where i live, it costs 600 baht a day to fish, and the lake is stuffed with lots of different carp, tilapia, paku, and many others including giant arapima not sure of the spelling hehe.

anyway its a great day, really pretty surroundings and great fishing with food and drinks available too. They can supply the bait and tackle too.

The beach fishing is not really good in fact i wouldnt even bother. ive tried it a few times.

if you want to go just pm me and i can give you the details

  9. I Like kamala garage on the main road next to the internet shop, good guy put a new clutch in, 2 wheel bearings, a new fan motor all for 12000 baht. took all day to do and done a good job. Not a bad price i thought and He speaks good english too.

  10. Hi! i have a Digital Pentax IST d-l 200 its a really nice camera, but far to big for me, ive only used it about 5-6 times it cost me 400+ uk pounds, and its in nearly new condition. comes with a fish eye lens which i bought seperately, and a carrybag + rechargable batts. If someone fancys swapping me for a really good small new model digital camera, that would be cool! pm me with details thanks. or if someone wants to buy it thats cool too.

  11. We had some "soldiers" from the South a few months ago, in Paklok. My girlf went to the gate & they asked several times if they could come in. She said no repeatedly and I went out to see what was happening and eventually got rid of them.

They looked more like mafia types than soldiers and were very pushy. Did not give them any money, they were not happy.

  12. Hi i just had my upper wisdom tooth taken out as it was giving me swelling and pain, at bangkok hospital im terrified of the dentist but it wasnt bad i honestly did not feel a thing, not even the injections. And he sang rod stuart to me :o I understand though that your problem is much worse but i would recommend bangkok, it was only 700 baht, with xrays and extraction and drugs.
