  1. "traditional Thai massage worker"

"Sanook who went to the scene and took a video of the closed shop were told that the attack happened Monday. They were alerted to the crime after a Facebook post on a "so you wanna be famous" site."

"The owner of the shop was reluctant to speculate on the relationship between the foreigner and the woman though he did understand that "he liked her"

So it was never reported to the police until Sanook investigates a Facebook post four days later?
    Story is bizarre.
Hoping the victim pulls through and full recovery.

A bit late now, it was about two weeks ago. Do we now have another poster who may decide to put the unelected PM on his avatar? :cheesy:

Why too late? Is the current situation the same as 2011? Honest question.

    Two weeks ago he said:
"...water situation this year "Not worrying" as in 2011"

    It was true then.

Just because I believe in honest reporting of the news, regardless of who the story is about, does not automatically make me a fan of the PM.

  3. The headline "PM: No Flood Worries This Year" is not what what Prayut said unfortunately people here keep repeating it.

In that article you linked to Prayut is saying: "Flood situations this year were not as severe as that in 2011"

His actual statements in Thai can be found on Facebook:

"...water situation this year "Not worrying" as in 2011, however I have ordered continuous surveillance until the end of the rainy season."

As the twenty-first century began, human evolution was at a turning point. Natural selection, the process by which the strongest, the smartest, the fastest reproduced in greater numbers than the rest, a process which had once favored the noblest traits of man, now began to favor different traits.

Most science fiction of the day predicted a future that was more civilized and more intelligent.

But as time went on, things seemed to be heading in the opposite direction — a dumbing down. How did this happen? Evolution does not necessarily reward intelligence. With no natural predators to thin the herd, it began to simply reward those who reproduced the most and left the intelligent to become an endangered species.

    Remember Devo?

"The name DEVO comes from the concept of "de-evolution" and the band's related idea that instead of continuing to evolve, mankind had begun to regress, as evidenced by the dysfunction and herd mentality of American society."

The worry at this level is not that Humans will be replaced, but that their jobs will be eliminated.. An that for jobs that are not eliminated the competition would be so intense  it would drive wages down.

This may be one of the reasons ganja is gaining in popularity with governments legalizing the manufacture and use. A cheap and easy drug to produce that pacifies and numbs ambition. Ambition in the future will not be rewarded the same way it is now.

But, but, but - He said no flooding !!!!  Wasn't mother nature listening to the great omnipotent cha cha ??

When did Prayut say "no flooding"?

His translated comment that I read:
"water situation this year "not worrying" as in 2011"

If you have a link to Prayut claiming there will be no flooding please post it.

This makes sense to me and actually makes me feel better. I have to move in about 18 months for work and we have been planning on going together. Maybe I have the problem with the bumpy patch and she's past it? Thanks for the replies.

We use the Cheetah app and device.

If that translation makes sense to you why did you bother to post in the first place? You clearly had already used translation software that gave you the same  translation.

But the real question I have is are you compensated for generating traffic for this site? Each view must be worth some baht paid for by advertisers.

Or maybe it was all just to plug an app.

After being excepted I was never contacted again.  No email, no SMS, nothing.

I got some good advice through this forum and called Khon Kaen Bangkok Hospital.

The Khon Kaen hospital manually put me in.

I registered through ThailandIntervac.com and the 2nd jabs are done by Bangkok Hospital on Oct. 3 at Central in Khon Kaen.

Have you tried this site to check your status?

    Also:

The father [male] is a buck

The mother [female is a doe]

and the family is called a herd.

Rather than the "human' terms used in the post.

And plural for deer is not deers.

But in fairness there is a more complete article in Thai. And in Thai the term ลูก (luke) is used which the Thai use for offspring, humans and animals.

The Thai article uses ลูกเก้ง  which is literally 'baby barking deer.' Paste ลูกเก้ง into Google translate and you get cub.

There are not enough people completely fluent in Thai and English to do all the translations that we read so we should show some patience for imperfect translations or we can learn to read Thai.

*1.  One post?  My guess is it will be a post and ghost.
*2. But if legit?  Wouldn't this be better in the Thai Language forum.

I agree that this should have been moved to the language forum by the moderators to begin with. But a topic with potential drama in the marriage and divorce forum is sure to generate more traffic than the language forum. 1.4K views at this point, not bad.

The Thai in the OP is not that great either, possibly created by a non-native speaker.

I guess jpg format is not that stable and not easy to recover from small faults.

I think you're correct that jpg does not handle small faults very well.

It sounds like your issue is different from the OP in that he appears to have some kind of a permissions issue.

  12. 1 hour ago, WorriedNoodle said:

if you open the jpg in a hexadecimal viewer you can see the contents are not correct standard for jpg so the files have somehow been corrupted and are lost forever.  How this happens but the file explorer still lists the filename correctly is an unknown to me

The filename and other information is stored in the Master File Table separate from the jpg file so even if the file is corrupt you should still see the filename.

From the OP: "Right clicking Properties/Security tells me I have to have Read permissions to view the properties."

Have you tried right clicking to check Properties/Security tab for one of the corrupted jpgs? In theory the security information should still be intact in the MFT even if the jpg is corrupted.

Can't she just declare with proof like bank statements that she really can't pay anything and wouldn't they understand that there you can't get water from a dry stone.

If the bank or finance company accepted her as a co-signer for the loan she must have had some assets or was it because of her position at the hotel?

As far as the bank is concerned the fact she hasn't any money in her own bank account doesn't prevent her from taking out loans from friends or family or selling off assets to cover the debt she is now responsible for.

It's very good news the truck has been found and recovered(?) the buyer should be in that area too if she wants to try and track him down. Personally I think she needs to negotiate what she now owes and put an end to this because the longer it drags on the more expensive it will likely get for her. The lawyer she will be going up against is probably well paid and very experienced in this type of case and she will end up paying that lawyer's fee as well as her own.

Maybe that free volunteer lawyer can provide advice as how to avoid going back to court, negotiate and settle instead of trying to get out of paying the debt.

My friend has a 2nd court date next week in province court - during the first date in July the bank's lawyer told her they will try to find the truck and the buyer.

I wouldn't put much faith in what the bank lawyer said, the lawyer is your friend's adversary. I doubt the bank will put too much effort into locating the vehicle since they have your friend on the hook for the money and already in court. I think your friend needs to put a lot of effort into locating the truck buyer and hopefully the truck too.

The buyer must have some kind of online presence your friend is aware of like Facebook or Line. Check out the potential contacts/friends/family via the online apps. Thais aren't very good at being loners and disappearing.
