  1. I was just talking about this with my wife today. In a situation like this where lives are literally at stake they should have called in outside help to get things done correctly.
  2. Might be why I haven't heard back since I selected Pfizer too. I assumed it would be like other places I've been reading that you show up for a jab and they give you what they have on hand. The site certainly could have been clearer about the selections. "...you can register for the first dose. (AztraZeneca) by filling out the form below." On the form below that I selected Pfizer and right next to it the date for jabs would be Aug. 21. I think I'll just become an anti-vaxxer and wait for the Thai government to pay me to have a jab. The site I started from: https://thailandintervac.com/
  3. Which site did you use? thailandintervac does not require the extra documentation. https://expatvac.consular.go.th/ https://thailandintervac.com/
  4. In that video the phrase เป็นสินค้าที่ไม่มีวันตาย is used in the sense that mamaa noodles is a product that's never going away, they are immortal.
  5. Yes you can reformat any infected drives and restore data to them. Keep in mind that it may be possible for your cloud data to become encrypted depending on how files are synced. If changed files sync automatically to the cloud your ransomware encrypted files on your computer could overwrite your cloud stored files. Safest is to connect your portable hdd to copy backups to and immediately disconnect it from the computer when backup is complete.
  6. That looks like it will be the second round of per-registrations. It would be nice if they would make contact with the first round of registrants (includes me) to confirm we are scheduled for a jab to avoid adding to the confusion. First round registrants are supposed to get their jab Aug 21.
  7. From the OP article: 'At a certain threshold of heat and humidity, “it’s no longer possible to be able to sweat fast enough to prevent overheating,” said Radley Horton a professor at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.' BS. When doing hard physical work on hot days here producing sweat is no problem. The evaporation of the sweat is what cools the body but because of the high humidity here the sweat doesn't evaporate fast enough to cool down the body, the heat just builds up. I take frequent breaks, maybe every 15 minutes, and use a portable fan to force the sweat to evaporate cooling down then get back to work.
  8. Nothing in this article confirms the doses will be Pfizer. "It is understood" synonymous with "it is assumed" Nor does the article confirm that 150K doses will be for Expatvac registrants. Lots of wishful thinking going on.
  9. My prepaid TrueMove-H for 2 baht extends 30 days. I don't know if there's any limit on it. *934*30#

  11. Thanks for the link a worthy but painful read. "Before that, in September, the minister committed to buying just three million doses per month from AstraZeneca...." "Instead, Anutin’s ministry placed a belated vaccine order with China’s Sinovac, paying on the high end of the private vaccine maker’s sales price range, according to the same sources. It has been lost on few local observers that Sinovac is 15% owned by the Charoen Pokphand Group, among Thailand’s richest and most politically influential “five family” business groups." https://asiatimes.com/2021/08/covid-blame-game-spreads-like-a-virus-in-thailand/
  12. 400 million doses + the Astra Zeneca doses for a population of 70 million?
  13. Headline from the Thai Rath linked article: Anutin reveals that Thailand has ordered an additional 10 million doses of Pfizer for delivery in the fourth quarter of this year.
  14. Well done. I might go for her if properly depeniled (thanks bk6060) and she didn't talk. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuT1cMsUe4o At 2:00 in.
  15. What does your radar tell you about this one?
  16. I believe this registration is not associated with Expatvac. Visit https://thailandintervac.com/ Which ultimately links too https://it-nurse.bkn.co.th/Registation-VaccineEx.php
  17. It wasn't me that got the jab. That was a copy and past from twitter Tanee Sangrat (Spokesman for MFA) @SangratTanee
  18. Maybe Loei. @SangratTanee Chris Buck Has anyone not in Bangkok, who registered through Expatvac, received an appointment yet? The Englishman Yes I live in Loei and has my first injection last week. My 2nd is scheduled for 26th August. I think just be patient. As an aged priority I waited just 4 days after registration for the call. Good luck. 7:24 AM · Aug 12, 2021
  19. I said: "Using an agent to bypass the income requirement is more or less harmless" Your overreaction to my benign comment that was not directed at anyone in particular and the need for you to come out and say your income is "is well above the stipulated amount" is quite interesting. A skeptical person would be calling BS. You should read through this topic carefully and maybe you'll get a handle on the context of why I made that comment in the first place.
  20. You are in fact using an agent to bypass the income requirement.
  21. Straying off topic here. The men can certainly be lazy when given the chance but when they do start working they can work for hours in brutal conditions that would have 99% of farangs quitting within 15 minutes.
  22. Thanks. I registered for Pfizer now awaiting an email.
  23. All villagers are aware that returnees must contact the Puuyaibahn via phone to make arrangements prior to their arrival who in turn contacts the 'doctor' who helps to assess the situation and level of quarantine required. It would be a rare case that a returnee did not have contact with a relative prior to returning to know about the requirements. I wouldn't say that everybody knows everything about everybody but in normal times in a close knit community like an Issan village I would guess that at least 25 people, neighbors and relatives, would know when someone returns and with the current level of paranoia word would reach the Puuyaibahn very fast.
  24. Be careful of backups left connected to the network especially if 'the family' includes several people using Windows PCs or laptops. Ransomware immediately goes after network shares to encrypt them along with the files on the laptops/PCs. Backup to the NAS for convenience but you should also occasionally copy important backup files to a removable drive.
