  3. Thank you CharlieH for your reply. I did say that I am going for 17 days. I would probably have stayed a little longer but flight prices on different dates more or less dictated length of stay. So yes, I will be returning to my home country. I usually use it for internet access to book hotels, domestic flights etc. Look at news channels and You Tube. Also to make and receive calls. I would also like to be able to watch Netflix. I hope this explains what I want to do. Thanks again
  4. I will be visiting Thailand for 17 days. I have an AIS sim that I kept active by topping up occasionally. Can anybody advise which is the best package. Obviously, I do not require a recurring package. I am not familiar with the various options so any advice would be welcome Thank you
  5. Thanks for all the advice and comments. All things considered I have decided on and booked Emirates. Never had a problem with them in the past.
  6. I have been looking at return flights to Thailand in October. Checked all the usual airlines for price , flight times, layovers etc. Finally came up with a choice between Emirates and Qatar. Only €10 difference. Has anybody any recommendstions? Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you.
  7. Yes. Phuket is different. At least itwas last November. Pre booked test on arrival at airport. Transport from airport to hotel booked and prepaid. I arrived early afternoon. That evening hotel got negative test result. "Go where you like". Asked about antigen test kit which was left in room. Hotel personnel said " Do what you like with it. Up to you". No day five test
  8. I have a Thai friend who has a mangosteen farm in Phang Nga. I have visited there many times so I know that the season for mangosteen is in May. Any idea where this mangosteen originated from?
  9. Not sure where to ask this but here goes. I have a "Certificate of recovery from Covid 19". Is this sufficient to apply for Test and Go when it resumes?
  10. I got a tourist AIS sim a few years ago. I top up the balance online occarionally. Then if you want to extend the validity for 30 days you dial *500*9#. Costs 30 Baht per month. You can extend a few months at a time if you like https://myais.ais.co.th/login?returnUrl=%2Fpackages%2Fcurrent
  11. Mix vinegar with regular milk. Don't know ratio but I'm sure you can Google it.
  12. I was in Phuket last month with Thailand Pass. My bf, who lives in Khon Kaen, was able to fly from Khon Kaen to Phuket to stay with me. He is fully vaccinated.
  13. I stayed at The Marina Phuket Hotel in Patong last month. 800 baht per night. They arranged taxi pick up from airport. https://www.guestreservations.com/the-marina-phuket-hotel/booking?gclid=CjwKCAiAtouOBhA6EiwA2nLKH7i6YhMy7c8emoLJlNja1GC7IgvPKxyO92GGh1WnYjXrjx9MRX7bpBoCCS4QAvD_BwE
  14. Arrived in Phuket 16th November. PCR test at airport. Cleared by hotel that evening. One of those test kits in hotel room. Asked hotel if I needed to use it. "Up to you". Put it in bin.
  15. My Thai friend flew from Khon Kaen to Phuket last week. He needed proof of vaccination. Perhaps that only applies to Phuket entry
  16. Oh dear. Have I upset another sad farang. lol
  17. As for Chinese tourists, I was in Phuket recently and saw no Chinese tourists. Xi Jin is not allowing anybody out of China now. When the Chinese economy goes up in smoke there will not be many Chinese with money to invest in Thailand or anywhere else. Thank the Lord.
  18. I did wonder about the fact that Thailand might not have competitors for Winter Olympics. Not a lot of snow and ice in Thailand
