  1. Hi

I'd like to give you some encouragement. We have 2 cafe's. 1 is located on the beach on Koh Chang. Until 3 years ago we had desktops in there. The mobo's would corrode and die every year or so. Since 3 years we have used first generation eeePC's with 4gb SSD's and 512MB - upgraded 1 1GB of ram. We attach external monitors and usb keyboards, and we bring in a usb DVD writer whenever someone wants to burn a disk. The screens stay shut, and we have no heat issues. Have a stripped down windows XP which runs fast enough for your average holiday maker. All are still running fine, in fact are outliving some newer desktop machines in the other shop. When the time comes, we'll upgrade to similar.

Go for it, and good luck. Cheers.

  2. Thought I'd jump onto this thread, as some poster talked about vaccuum supply... maybe he can shed light and save me a trip to Bangkok... I have one of these systems on an Epson C90 - the yellow ink resevoir is obviously still 80% full, yet NO yellow ink comes out of the jet. The (hacked) sofware reports that the yellow tank is full. Is there anything I can usefully do in effort to fix this myself? ... cheers.

  3. The income does not have to be pension income. It can be any type of legit income. Any. Pattaya immigration has not been requiring money seasoning for subsequent extensions for some years now (800K method) but they changed their policy a few days ago. Now they require 3 months. As stated with an embassy letter using the combo method, there is no seasoning requirement.
My husband has been told by samui imm that although he is on his 4th retirement ext and has proof of income embassy letter for about 600,00 baht pa he still needs three months seasoning for the balance of around 200,000.......in spite of this not being written in the law. The official

said his big boss said it was easier to think that any cash requires 3 months seasoning!

Interesting, but confusing and contradictory, reading as I am due to renew (second time) my retirement extension in Laem Ngop in 7 weeks.

I have the equivalent of 500,000 in income and will get the certification from the embassy. I dont have the 300,000 in my account today, but it's ready to be moved at any time. Is the 3 month or 2 month seasoning relevant, can anyone confirm? Thanks.

  4. Hi,

Am making many international calls from our fixed line, to many different countries.

Have a CAT line and a TOT line.

Am currently using CAT 009, but wondering if we have a cheaper option. They seem to be promoting 001 at the moment.

Have searched for some up to date prices from CAT and TOT on the web, but all I've found are out of date.

Does anyone have any links to these?

    Thanks.

  5. Hi

My sister came to visit me in LOS on a 3 month single entry visa. She flies back to UK on 22nd April.

A week ago she went to Cambodia and of course the visa was cancelled on re-entering the kingdom. She was give 15 days visa exemption stay.

We seem to have 2 alternatives:

    1) Go to Penang or Singapore for a new 2 month single entry visa. That will last beyond 22/4.

    2)

    i) Go to Penang, but simply fly back to for a 30 day visa exemption stay. Then...

ii) go to local immigration for a further 7 days. Then...

iii) go to Cambodia land border for a final 15 days. That lasts till 22/4.

    1) would work but is expensive for her.

    2) Some questions...

Does flying into Thailand from Malaysia count as entering from a "neighbouring country", and as such would she only be granted 15 days?

What would be the consecutive entry count when making the final entry overland from Cambodia? I recall there's a limit of 3, but cannot find this documentred anywhere. She will have entered the kingdom 3 times prior to this one.

    Thanks for any assistance.

    Regards.

  6. I'm a UK citizen living in Thailand. Been legally married for a month to a Thai lady and we have the Thai marriage certificate. Applying for a UK family visit visa for my wife - the family we hope to visit are her new in-laws.

    A couple of questions:

Do I need to get the Thai marriage certificate translated and certified at the dept of consular affairs?

I have the bio-page of the main host in the UK (my sister). For the other people we're visiting, do I also need their bio-pages?

Have seen some comment that the answers to both questions might be yes, but nothing to confirm this from the ukvisa website.

    Thanks in advance.

  7. It seems to just another, like many commercial sites that are part of a bigger organisation.

"Siammedee Business Travel Co., Ltd. 555/8137 "

google and make your own mind up as to which sites provides unbiased opinion.
