Yeah sure. The Spanish Inquisition, forced conversions, repression of knowledge, education, science, selling "absolution" to the rich, support of feudal hierarchies and divisive class systems, haven for sadists and sexual perverts, anti-semetic, etc etc etc.
The Catholic Church enjoyed good relations with Nazis, Fascists and still enjoys them with tin-pot dictators in South America and Africa for a reason.
They might give you personal "freedom to sin and repent" for a price but collectively they repress and extort.
You forgot to add drugs and radioactive materials smuggling
under the cassock. .. 555
I am not a pious person, I have not been to the church for yearsbut learning about different cultures and observing the world
I did a significant shuffle in my opinions and I give credit where credit is due IMO.
I'm a bit surprised that people who are ex-pats in Asia and know the worldmore than the average person still can't connect the dots.

Religions create cultures.
That is why citizens of nations built on Christianity have the mostfreedom and they are individuals, not just masses to grind .
This is especially true for Catholics because they have the opportunityto confess their sins and be forgiven...
and with a clear conscience they can begin to sin again 555There is no religion that gives more freedom than Catholicism!

One thing I do notice in all areas of the City be it Central Pattaya, Jomtien, Naklua or across the Sukhumvit is the number of empty premises with For Sale/Rent signs up. I've lived here a long time and it's not something that's been particularly visible in the past. I think it's as good an indication as any of a slowdown in business generally not just tourist centric.
Half of southern Phuket is for sale / rent
it is a low season ... but it has never been so much,
Whereas in District 1 HCMC I haven't seen a single premises for rent. -

And children from such marriages are also fake for visas ?

I suspect many may be. Look at the number of newly married retirees since the 800/400k thing came in. Maybe that created demand will soak up all the ageing fatties in Pattaya and open some young hotties. Win win.
My God ... I hope that all possible resources will be directed
to this front ... including submarines !

How does the Bhutan retiree visa policy compare to Thailands? I'm sure there ill be many retirees looking to relocate to a lower cost country in a cooler climate. Bit off topic but not really.
There is probably no such visa in Bhutan or it is very expensive
so they don't lament like the Thai people all the time. -

Tourism is good for every country. Importing elderly , relatively poor people is not so good. It may have made sense when Thaksin introduced the 50 yo thing..but that was a long time ago. Not so relevant now as many are finding out.
Thailand should stop complaining about how aggrieved it is with
all these white foreigners ...The Thai people brought them here ...
no one forced them !
I am for Thailand to introduce a tourism model like in BhutanAnd stop lamenting .
"In 2014, Bhutan welcomed 133,480 foreign visitors.[106] Seeking to become a high value destination, it imposes a daily fee of US$250 on tourists that covers touring and hotel accommodation"
I won't pay this but at least things will be clear !

Get up and move away. You are an adult aren't you? Or say something. You are a man aren't you?
Were they smelly and obnoxious? Drunk...trying to pick a fight with you. No of course not. they were living their culture as is their right on holiday. The fact that you don't like it is irrelevant. They were doing you no harm. Get up and walk away to somewhere more suited to your sensibilities. They, like you, are merely visitors. they , unlike you, are probably not bigots. Understand one thing. You CHOSE to live in Asia. Asia is Full of Asians.
Ask yourself how a Thai person feels when a bunch of football loving English drunks arrive at their normally quiet restaurant?
Please realise the world of the retiree European in Thailand is a relatively new phenomenon. Thailand was not put on this Earth as a playground for elderly pensioners from the northern hemisphere to use as a plaything. Thailand DOES not NEED immigrants unlike the USA, Canada and Australia to build their economy.

Beach ... no one within 100 meters...just me.
A group of a dozen or so Chinese walks up and they choose to sit down
3 meters away from me. They are talking,,screaming just behind my back
when there are hectares of empty beach to choose from.
It happened to me a few times and I wonder why they do it ...
What are the reasons for this behavior?
Since they can sit wherever they want without disturbingsomeone else ... I find this kind of behavior rude .

Despite the fact of the chinese government is triyng hard to keep feeding the tax system (As every government in the world do) he should probably not be able to stop the ''black money'' flood outside of the country, it was the meaning of the ''chineses'' i was talking about in my post, not the officials but the one with the pockets full of money to ''wash and clean'' , they now buy already a big part of the condominiums in Pattaya (With some thais and indians for the same obvious reasons) but it's not probably enough for them.
And I am writing that the Chinese government will not agree
to Las Vegas in Pattaya..in my opinion .
and these condominiums purchases will end just like previous waves

Somewhere it could be someone with a ''plan B''
when all the actual business will really be at the bottom of the hole
it should be the good time to introduce the ''rescue solution'' of Pattaya as a special zone in Thailand
where Casino are allowed, and the chineses are probably already working hard for that option....
Wait and see
"....despite China’s draconian ..money is illegally fleeing in increasingly innovative ways."
yeah .. Im sure the Chinese government is dreaming of one more big hole in this bucket.

As for your, IMHO illusion, that Nazi Germany had any liking, even any respect, towards Poland, I'm sorry to contradict you, none such, at the time, already, the usual 'formulation' was: 'Slaven sind Sklaven
You know that the Ribbentrop Molotov Pact was signed with the most
hated communist Slavic "state" and there was a wonderful friendship
for 2 years... so you contradict yourself.
Of course, it was about agreeing to be a vassal country
in the bloodbath and genocide in the east but such effortson the part of Hitler were.
Don't have to be a genius to know and understand
that if Poland agreed, Hitler would conquer Moscow..and he know it too.

10,000 baht for a piece of paper with your signature on which it
is written that the person presenting this document is exempt
from paying any fees for one year for tourist visas, non O etc.
in embassies, consulates and immigration offices.
And at the border an immigration officer is obliged
to stamp this person's passport with a smile and a wai .
I know ,I know ...too stingy and selfish to do that !
