The laughing emojies and some of the comments, absolutely pathetic beyond words.

Here is a hard working person, who worked all life, built successful business, made enough money to buy nice cars and now selling it all just to stay afloat, but some idiots find it amusing. PATHETIC

She is one of very many who lost everything or on the way to lose it all and will have to start from 0 again, only at the age of 50 it is not as easy as it was at 20.

It is so sad and discouraging to see, but apparently some pathetic beings find it funny and amusing

Spot on but you are forgetting the modus operandi on here is to hate everything Thai

I think many on here do not seem to understand what this is doing to the elderly expat community - and by that I mean anyone over 55 on retirement visas/extensions.

If average life expectancy is say 85, it means about 3.3% of all expats in that bracket living in Thailand will die each year. I doubt many expats as before are coming to live in Thailand during this pandemic, some but not the same amount. If the expat community loses 3% a year, by end of next year, the expat community will be down near 10%, near 16% ish if still closed in 2 more. It will take decades to replace the loss of these people.

Many expats keep businesses afloat. I think Thailand should open immediately for all those over 55 who have been vaccinated.

The argument will always be 'if we do not open now, then when' !

How on earth in any country can it be economically bad that old people die sooner rather than later ?

it’s a blunt uncomfortable truth that old people cost!

    How do you know this?

Google Moderna Bloomberg Thailand - there was a news item on there.

Also there is a mechanism to buy vaccines which starts with a draft contract - the Thai minister for health himself last week has said he hasn’t even seen a contract for Moderna and that would start life on his desk!

One more ? The government have published their expected vaccine purchases for 2021, there is not 1 Moderna vaccine on it.

  4. Absolute con - there is not a cat in hells chance Moderna will be in Thailand before March 2022 AT BEST - and that’s according to Moderna ! By which time a few other variants will no doubt have appeared!

Draft contracts haven’t even been drawn up yet - anyone paying a ‘deposit’ are simply padding savings accounts for hospitals that haven’t a clue if they can get it at all let alone when !

The authorities said they were following Center for Covid Situation Awareness directives.

Huh? Why on earth would you follow the directives of these clowns? The 4th grade science students know more about Covid and disease control, than they do.

All provinces should revolt, and set up their own plans and openings. And their own responses to the dumb, sadistic and draconian authorities.

The time for civil disobedience has arrived. Just say NO! We are opening now!

You own a bar ? Or you just want others to go to jail for you ?

besides there are more bars open in HH now than closed ! Either go around the back or take your own mug.

    Nice setup for Hua Hin.

Im so glad I didn't buy land around there.  Thai garbage includes broken cell phones, car batteries, general toxins.

In few years the water supply for miles around will be deadly.

Anyone close buy will have virtually useless land that nobody will buy.

Who’s a proper little ray of sunshine then ?

Aside from that 10 years ago it was 100k a rai 5 minutes from town - now it’s 4-5 million!! and most water is from Pranburi not HuaHin apart from central ! So you’re talking garbage anyway, excuse the pun

At some stage you have to make an example of people. This wave, which has killed 80% of all Thai victims of COVID, came from the same area.

People all over the country are suffering immensely, their lives ruined, people dying from disease and desperation, economy which started to recover was shredded by the drunken ldiots mortal desire for entertainment.

Whatever is the sum of all harshest penalties for each of their offenses, let them have it. If that involves public execution, so be it.

You are charged with drinking a bottle of beer therefore you will now be EXECUTED!!

    Get a grip !

I took my daughters to the water park the eldest can swim the younger 12 yrs can't so I gave her a life vest which after one ride down a tube was taken off because it slowed her down!

Absolutely no fear of the consequences or the dangers the vest was only put back on under the threat of being taken home!

It seems the Thai love of water overrides the dangers!

12 years old and can’t swim ? As a parent have you thought about lessons ?

That's absolutely the point being made, there are no people here, because everything is closed.  And everything is closed because of COVID and because of this governments inept and laissez faire attitude to dealing with the crisis i.e. not thinking ahead and planning a vaccination scheme, because they thought they had it licked.

Really ? Every bar I’ve ever drunk in I can go into tomorrow. May be behind a shutter for some but many many bars are blatantly open - where do you live ?

Golf courses are empty - sheer bliss !

    Covid has a silver lining

Absolutely correct, it should be based on age and medical condition regardless of race.  There is no differentiation between races in the two countries I am connected with,  the UK and Australia.  But with regards to that being a racist decision, yes I guess it is, but racism is something farangs encounter every day of the week in Thailand, so it becomes normal and we either have to get on with it or get out.  There will be no changing the Thais.

    I’ve never encountered racism ?

    attitude adjustment needed perhaps ?
