210,000,000
and all at once that is the main problem'
health services cannot cope
you cannot dig holes fast enough
you gotta carry out autopsies
or Johnny be desperate is suffocating grandma in her bed to get his inheritance early
there are such a multitude of reasons
plus the 210,000,000 is a soft estimate
its an ethics problem
who do we condemn to death
that's why we have lock downs
the sad truth is BORIS survived if he had died its a whole new ball game
he had his chance to go down in history and he blew that too
bumbling Boris...
I would not trust figures from Myanmar especially the cesspit that is Yangon
Laos is still so under developed its easy to think that they dont have a lot of infections
even after lock down and the 'new' normal there is still the same risk
this virus is confusing the hell out of them
the report of the guy in china still detectable 2 months later
and hes not alone
of course everyone wants to blame the test kits
there is so much disbelief in the world these days
the fake news
closing the internet down on countries
who is to say there is not a few thousand web people hiding out in each countries bunkers making pages or algorithms that make pages to satisfy the masses
what is real what is not
sometime the effects on movies TV astound
we know how to make false so precisely
if the virus is a fake what is the outcome
in every conspiracy crime etc
you have to look at who benefits
so who benefits from a fake virus
so far the only winner is planet earth
the air is cleaner
the ganges is actually cleaner
has the ice poles stopped melting have they slowed
have the fires diminished in Australia
Of course for every doomsayer on here
China is the winner its about to take over the world
Its going to be the new economic powerhouse
Frankly I just get bored witless by conspiracy theory and all that goes with it and fear of who is going to be the new number 1
the fact is Donnie 'boy' 'MAGA' Trump is the numero uno head honchoand you dont worry
we are screwed one way or the other
chill take a pill
find a bit of what you fancy
welcome to the 'new' normal????????????????????????????????????????????????

well thats 4 immediate Land crossings that may stay closed

This list is useless its total infections since the start;
This data is a few days old
What you have to look at is Active cases
Japan has a lot of active casesthe critical cases are reflective of elderly and at risk population which only really show up in nations that have such care.
The data from Myanmar just cannot be trusted
& the data from India in that they have no critical cases very misleading
I think Thailand should worry more about Saudi & India rather than having Laos on its list

total garbage
he has had 3 flights cancelled he did not cancel them so he cannot be out of pocket
Ok Thailand is not doing a truck load of testingmaybe it does not have to
Of course if we look at past Dengue outbreaks we know Thailand likes to 'ahem' downplay the figures
but in General SE Asia has significantly low numbers of infection and death so its okI think the main difference is media they can print anything they like in the UK and the trash media is part of the whole UK mentality problem.
In every country there are morons
and in the UK Boris takes top spot
then their close down is not 100% sports direct B&Q etc you can still go shopping for DIY where as in SE ASia you gotta use Lazada
Id rather be in Thailand too rather than UK the viral numbers speak for themselves
they are still mulling over if the public should be made to wear a mask
out of UK & better for for it.

Thanks in advance.
the only thing about that is immigrant labor is also farang

While we were all concentrating in slagging of Thai Immigration
Looks like Vietnam was playing hardball
From March 22 until further notice, Vietnam has temporarily suspended entry for all foreign nationals. Vietnam will not be issuing visas or allowing entry to any travellers at this time, including those who already hold visas or visa exemptions.
Foreigners in the country whose visa exemptions or tourist visas have expired and cannot exit due to quarantine, lack of flights, closed borders and similar objective reasons, may ask their embassies or consulates to apply on their behalf for a extension of temporary residence for a maximum of 30 days while awaiting departure. See here for a list of documents required to apply.
Vietnam will consider penalty waivers for foreigners have overstayed their temporary residence in the country for less than 10 days due to objective reasons. Those who have entered Vietnam for business, visiting relatives, or purposes other than travel should contact their embassies, consulates or sponsors regarding visa concerns.
Maximum 30 DAYS

Meanwhile CambodiaPeople wear face masks, amid concerns over a spread of Covid-19, as they walk through a gate equipped with disinfectant spray for people entering a pagoda during the Khmer New Year in Phnom Penh on April 14, 2020.- AFP
PHNOM PENH (Xinhua): Cambodia on Thursday (April 16) extended a ban on foreign travellers from the United States, Iran, and four European countries in a bid to stem the spread of Covid-19, according to a foreign ministry's letter.
In the letter to the ambassadors, consul-generals, and honorary consults of Cambodia to foreign countries, Foreign Ministry secretary of state Sea Kosal told them to extend the ban on foreigners coming to Cambodia from the United States, Iran, Italy, Germany, Spain, and France until further notice.
He added that entry restrictions for all foreigners to Cambodia also remain in effect until there is a new notice.
"Above-mentioned measures of travel restrictions are temporary and must be continued to implement until the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization make a joint assessment that the situation of Covid-19 disease has eased," he said.
Cambodia has banned entry of foreign visitors from the six countries since mid-March and has imposed entry restrictions for all foreigners since March 30.
In its entry restrictions, any foreigner wishing to travel to Cambodia must provide a medical certificate issued by competent health authorities of his/her country, certifying that he/she is not tested positive for the Covid-19.
Also, he/she must provide proof of his/her insurance policy that shows minimum medical coverage during his/her intended stay in Cambodia in the amount not less than US$50,000.

Yes currently malaysia opens on 28 april but i can guarantee it wont. The earliest it will open is 12 may. But also being discussed is 23 may.
That will make it about 2 months of watching bad movies. Im not too bad because the gf has a letter allowing her out as an essential worker even though she only does one day a week. Im ok due to my connection with the new PM. But nothing is open anyway so not worth going outside except to relieve the insanity of boredom.
yes, Malaysia likes to leave it to the last moment to say if MCO continues
They are worried about Ramadan
then Hari RayaSO i think Thailand has finally looked at the facts by this July 31 ext its the cold reality wherever we may be right now we might just be stuck for that 3 months more

This does suggest that the borders will not open in May or June.
i know it just means Singapore and Manila at least plus possibly Indonesia are of the cards
I hope they print some data about border opening soon but for them to give such a lengthy extension date at this stage shows some realization that getting out of the country is going to be difficult -
july 31
thats huge, they must realise that even if they lift lock down foregner cannot go anywhere so your in Thailand for the next three months wether you want to be or not
doubtful other borders will open up
singapore new lockdown June 1
manila June 1
i hope they print some entry rules soon

Lockdown being lifted may not be happening any time soon
Singapore has extended its lockdown to June 1st
Manila Also June 1st
Indonesia has decided to postpone its Hari Raya Aidilfitri to Dec 28 to 31 instead of May 26 to 29. which is quite a move!Thailand has just issued automatic visa extension till July 31 which is a huge time limit so its keeping those who are here
this may be due to the fact that its almost impossible to go any where even if lock down restrictions are lifted.
Malaysia is still looking at 28th April we wait and see but don't hold your breath folks tourism is not about to kick off any time soon
Lets hope there is a lock down lift but as stated you wont be going anywherebut internal and if air asia domestic routes start

Ah the great minds of TVF solving the world with their dwindling pensions

all this projecting tourism returns is just nonsense
if all the countries thailand relies on are in turmoil doesnt matter a toss what thailand thinks or does
its a joke
south america is in a <deleted> storm but not a lot of news getting out
africa is next
sweden and japan are learning the hard way what its like to think your smarter than everyone else
its more watch this space than this is what its going to be

well of course the tourists wont be back
for starters no insurance company will be issuing covid insurance
no tourists will now take that risk
thailand has not declared if it will lift that requirement of covid cover
yes se asia is not badly hit
here comes ramadan followed by eida lot of infection numbers already displayed they originated in places of worship
it was chinese new year which helped the spread
we either accept that the virus is here 1-5% die
hope it does not mutate into something bad but usually mutations get weaker lets hope it sticks to that.
thailand unlike other se asian countries handled this whole visa thing very very badly
squeezing every last baht out of it.
sweden and japans we dont care policy is back firing
no guarantee you cannot catch it more than once
no timeline on immunity protection
only 7 billion vaccines to produce and distribute
yeah sure everything will return to normal pretty soonanyone want to buy a unicorn turd?

eep hearing it's a small part of the economy...yet apparently each of the 40 million tourists spend 5,000 baht a day...without tourism Thailand is nothing...it's rice exports have diminished as has the car industry......they don't really export or make anything else...
exactly tourism is not a small part of the economy it is a major driver in many areas
we tend to overlook that a lot of tourism is in the black economy
and it feeds other parts of the black economy
well known fact 300,000 hookers are not getting the 5000 bht
but those 300,000 take how much cash they all but phones they pay rent
they get over inflated bar drinks which helps keeps bars running
they take drugs not all
someones paying for all those fake tits and it aint medicare
they send money home to the folks in the hills it makes the shame more bearable
and thats just the hookers
we all know that tuk tuks taxis etc are famous for overcharging farang
no one declares all their illegal gains as they bow to Buddha pray for their sins and look for the next sucker in western terms go say 10 hail marys and keep your pecker in your pantsno one can really equate the true soft gdp in thailand
its not a fixed price stateits me happy you happy
so the uk has just told the public dont book any summer hols this year
no guarantee of lock down end
that said i still think covid is a cold weather virus but thailand would s till be crazy to open up
malaysia is more realistic it realises it has to rely on domestic tourism for 6 months
but in 6 months winters back no vaccine and maybe it all flares up
of course thb will not collapse it has lost 50% of its value in the past but all se asia was hit
this is different
it will be interesting though just to see if tourism does not returnyou gotta see at least a 10% correction in value
and if thats the case the junta have to address the poverty because if they dont those food queues get bigger pretty soon they are a mobthen they all get red teeshirts which dont feed them but does embolden them

The Cynic in me says BS airlines have been making it difficult to get refunds for cancelled flights instead issuing credit notes
Its impossible for AA to say that these lock downs will really end, plus its Ramadan, Malaysia is already banning bazaars that usually operate and are worried about Eid Mubarak
so the cynic in me is saying AA is just doing a cash collection and exploiting folk -
ok these are garbage compared to the extra STRONG and a second cup UURGh

How do I unlock the region code on my DVD player?Region coding can, in most cases, be removed from your DVD player using a simple remote-control code that unlocks the player.
...
Here's the best part.- Power on.
- Open tray.
- Push the info on remote once (with supplied remote). You will see numbers.
- Press 9 for multi-region. ...
- Power off.
- Power on.
or
press menu
enter
display
condition
then choose which region
1,2,3,4 or 5 by pressing that number.
then enter again.ok these are a bit of a pain this is not your model but its same manufacturer
watch

watching these two gives you the idea of how to do it
sounds like a bit of a pain though

You are looking at only one part of the equation.. you forget that western countries are hit hard too. So it evens out. I wish you were right as it would be great but guys like you have been predicting this for years and it did not come true.
Oh, Im not predicting anything
i would say at the current moment it is anywhere between 10-15% over valued
you disagree that's cool
but since Thailand became part of this kunming express deal the BHT went high stays high
it has to lose 10% alone on COVIDS hit on tourism alone and as far as their other sectors go if BHT is in tune with all other currencies that are going to take a global covid hit
so as i say im not predicting i say its over valued
and only the next 4 months will see what covid effect has on international values
i guess what i am saying is that the 10-15% over valuation will be addressed at some point if people start a BHT dump
as someone in the economic field i guess you see THB as the true Tiger in this bunch and think its performing as it should
like everything only time will tell but i think in two or three dried ink railine contacts down the line a realignment will come and those rail lines will cost LoS more than they shrewdly bargained for- 1

Some people have absolutely no economic sense at all. Thankfully you know what your talking about. The baht would fall if Thailand was hard hit and other countries not. But everyone is hard hit so your analysis is correct.
So many foreigners have no clue and keep imagining the baht going down but it has not done so and wont. I would like it too as i get income in Euros but I am not holding my breath.
i don't think its all economics if there is speculation in there to thats a money game
soros already proved currencies can be manipulated.
everyone agrees THB is over valuedSaying there is a limit to how much THB a bank can hold is irrelevant, since china is holding the largest foreign reserves and that is just the ones it declares
there is a vested interest here with the kunming express
for sure thailand has to take a hit its going to lose 20% gdp on tourism
yes uk usa eu are all bailing out handouts but they will increase taxes
who pays tax in LoS!
if tourism is hit for say 6 months THB must go down
plus the government will have to dip into those reserves and start some bailout programs

Brainstorming: How to recover files from a dead laptop?
in IT and Computers
Posted · Edited by andy72
even if the batteries dead it should power on
so no lights at the front when plugged in?
fiddle about with the jack pulling slowly to left right up down see if its just a worn connection rather than no delivery
ive found that pulling the cable tight underneath the laptop sometimes works to
could simply be the charger light is on but nothing coming out
just a few things to check before you pull the drive out
im using a 300e right now
samsung chargers are cheap
also if your windows is password protected you wont get in
if ur using it on a usb i have my old hd in the dvd space i bought an hd caddy
just set ur new laptop/desktop to the same password
also try a different cable on charger difficult as its a clover leaf shape
a figure eight also fits you dont need the earth
if your is standard rob the kettle or rice cooker lead to try
