Yes it can be done at Jomtien.
You need at least 15 days remaining on your 30 day entry or the 30 day extension of it when you apply for a 90 day non immigrant visa (category O) entry at immigration.
Not complicated if you already have the 800k baht in the bank with proof it came from abroad or proof of 65k baht income.
What if the 800k is savings in Thai bank from previous employment in Thailand and not from abroad?
If a fresh 800k from abroad is required, would it have to be seasoned or just deposited day before visa conversion.

I flew in with 30-day visa exempt stamp from airport and did my 90-day non-O visa & 12-mth extension in Jomtien, Chonburi
Is it possible to come in with the 30 day exempt and convert to non Imm O retirement in Jomtien. How many days before expiry of 30 day can you do this? Is it straightforward or complicated?

I would recommend utlizing the TM7 PDF beforehand, printing it (double-side, not two separate pages), affixing the proper style photo.
Can anyone confirm that it the downloaded form from TV has to be double-side and not 2 separate pages?
Thanks

That is for a work permit cancelation not a extension of stay. You were asking about a form for the extension cancelation previously.
Your employer should complete the work permit cancelation form.
This is the one I posted. work-permit-cancellation.pdf
There is no form for an extension cancelation.
Thank you for clarification!

That's great. Thank you.
Btw, was informed by others of 2 methods and a required "Form for Work Permit Cancellation"
1. If done by Employee, require the form (plus copies), work permit, and Power of Attorney.
2. If done by Employer, same as 1 plus some company documents
It appears there could be a form? Googling the name shows a form, but not sure if that is current?
Just to reply to myself, I found 2 websites including an old thread on TV which show a "Form for Work Permit Cancellation". Could someone kindly confirm if such form is still in use and if the procedures below are correct?

includes form

shows a procedure and a form

If will start from day your current extension was canceled.
You will need your bank book updated on the day you apply showing the 800k baht has been in the bank for at least 2 months.
Here is sample bank letter from Bangkok Bank. bank letter.pdf
That's great. Thank you.

There is no special form for either of those.
For the cancel you go to immigration and request the cancelation and show your termination letter.
You will use a standard TM7 form to apply for the extension of stay based upon retirement. You are not transferring any visa category.
The bank should know what you need to prove the 800k baht in the bank. Most banks have branches on the ground floor of the immigration building at Chaeng Wattana.
Thanks to all for the advice and helping clear the stress and confusion.
Will the extension of stay be granted up to the current extension of stay date or is it a completely new one with a "fresh" 12 months?
The reason I asked about the bank letter is that it would be from a small city branch, not from CW. It is usually easier just to show them a template. Also is a stamped bank statement for the last 12 months needed or just the letter?
Thank you.

Your extension of stay based upon working will have to be canceled at the one stop center before you and apply for one based upon retirement at Chaeng Wattana.
Have you got the financial proof needed for retirement ready. If using the 800k baht option it will have to be in the bank for 2 months on the day you apply.
If the one stop center would post date your extension cancelation by a day or 2 would be easier for your do your new extension.
It would be possible to get the cancellation done early morning and then the new application afterwards as long as you got a queue number before 15:30 at Chaeng Wattana.
Does anyone know the form name/numbers for:
1. Cancel work permit
2. Transfer visa from nonimm B to nonimm O retirement
3. Template for bank letter.
Much appreciated.

800k in bank for 1 year. Is photocopy of bank book needed, as well as stamped and dated balance statement from bank. Can this be done the day before and is there any special format.
Are they any other special immigration forms to fill out (with download link if possible).
Thanks again.

Question is at end of employment contract with WP/extension of stay from One Stop in Bangkok, convert to retirement and stay on.
Basically need to know which forms, procedures and bank info required.
Have heard must cancel WP in morning at Chamchuri and convert visa(or extension?) at Chang Wattana in afternoon? Is this even possible?
A bit clueless here, so all advice welcome.

the consulates in Penang and Savannakhet have gotten a bit more flexible now for the proof of retirement.
Thank you. In practical terms what exactly does this mean in terms of documentation for "proof". Does anyone have recent experience?

If your extension was issued at the one stop center that is where you have to TM30 report.
I have though seen reports that they are not asking for them there.
Thank you for your response. I had never heard anyone mention doing this at One stop before, only at CW, so was confused. Could someone please confirm what documents from landlord are required to do this?

Could someone please update which documents are required for foreigner renter to file for rental unit(owned by Thai national)
Also what is the maximum fine?
Is it possible to also file this form at One Stop Chamchuri if visa was done there, or does it have to be filed at Chaeng Wattana?
Thank you

Thanks for information, along with what documents are required.
If possible prefer Penang, but is proof of retirement necessary for any of these places, and what exactly is proof.
Ideally prefer easiest documentation, such as 800k in Thai bank plus bank letter.
Thanks again.

Looking for the best overall in terms of performance, comfort, interior, looks etc.
Will primarily be used as family vehicle, commuting, and not for hauling heavy loads.
Currently leaning toward the Ford Ranger Wildtrak, bi-turbo 2l or Toyoto Revo Rocco 2.8l.
If there better options out there, please share.
