  1. Hi,

Any experience with getting a visa for a Thai wife to Japan? Hypothetical scenario: Intending to go for a year. Also, that would include a young baby as well, about 6 months old.

Anyone know if the process is easy?

    Any comments welcome.

    Thanks

couldnt it just be my x girlfriend got visa why hooker sounds like your proud that she had to go that way in life makes the rest of the thickos in the world think all thai girls are easy like my thai bride mmmm out of a catoulog or off the net people small minds

  2. Westerner murdered, decapitated, head hung beneath Bangkok's Rama VIII Bridge

BANGKOK: -- The Thai capital was shocked Sunday afternoon when the head of western man of undetermined nationality was found hanging under Bangkok's famous Rama VIII Bridge.

Metropolitan police officers found the head attached by plastic rope dangling under the Rama VIII Bridge. At the roadway level balustrade, police discovered a message written in correction fluid, 'CATH I WANT BUT I CANNOT CAME TO BANGKOK TO BE YOU'.

Police said that the victim's nationality was not yet clear, but suggested that he might be aged between 40-45 years old and that he had been killed less than 16 hours ago.

An investigation is now being carried out at entertainment venues, popular foreign residences and embassies to identify the victim.

  4. I'll do my best to articulate my thoughts. Briefly, in 2001, I went to Thailand for the 1st time. I was 25 years old at the time. I quit my job and returned later that year for 9 months straight and I've been back a couple of times since. I am now 33 years old and have spent about a year in Thailand made up of 5 seperate trips.

Growing up and living in a small town in England for the 1st 25 years of my life Thailand was a HUGE adventure for me. My trips have revealed a lot about my small town life here in the UK, particularlly how tedious and boring it is.

Family and Friends have noticed significant changes in me too. A friend said that I'm like a totally different person since I've discovered Thailand and my sister recently said that since returning to the UK I "Hate everyone and everything". Hate might be a bit extreme but I certainly have become averse to lots of things here. I just can't figure out why? It's like my travels changed my whole belief system and outlook.

People seem narrow and "small - minded" here. It's like I went away on these massive adventures, returned home and nothing or nobody has changed.

Although I was lucky? enough to be born in The West and should be happy with my lot I feel like I just can't identify with life here anymore.

I've develpoed an aversion towards so much that it has almost become a neurosis - Cultural norm's, values, expectations, the materialistic system, celeb culture, mortgages, cars, British women (sorry girls!), sporting events etc

I feel like one of those Gi's unable to assimilate back in their American Hometown after Vietnam - "Every time I wake up I think I'm back in the jungle"

My friend recently bought a new car and brought it round to show me and I had to fake it, I had no interest in the car whatsoever. Same with my Sister showing me her newly decorated house - not interested.

Maybe it wasn't Thailand per se, maybe just experiencing life outside of the West. I thought my travels would have settled my restlessness and that I could then just plod in with life here in the UK after getting it out of my system, but my experiences have had the opposite effect and I am more restless than ever! The thought of spending the rest of my life here feels me with dread.

    Any similar experiences??

  6. Just a thought, you'll need to check this out.

It is illegal for a Laos woman to have a relationship with a non-Laos male outside of marriage... Now that may only apply if you are within Laos, but then again the authorities might assume in your case that the relationship had also occurred in Laos and could ask for proof that it hadn't...

So if it were me, until I had checked that, I would be a little careful about announcing my intentions to marry a non-Lao that I had been living with.

Great country Laos, by the way, I really enjoyed my times there and the people. Just not sure whether anyone in authority would think to bring up this piece of legislation, even though it is pretty obviously irrelevant in your case.

i also believe that to be true even if you are wanting a relationship between 2 loas people they have to register with the council there to see if they can thank god for freedom :o

  7. hi i am currently in the process of buying a house, for me and my thai wife to live in if she gets the settlement visa (fingers crossed).

now the mortgage of the house will have a severe dent in my bank balance. will this have a bearing on my application. as come the time of the application i will have £3000 in an isa account, but 2000 in credit card debt. and after all the cost of the bills are taken in to account. i will have 60 pounds every week to spare.

my wife will obviuosly be wanting to work here and add to the household income.

all in all will this be enough to convince them to believe i have enough funds to support my wife?

also i recently took 8 weeks off work and have returned to work 2 weeks ago. my wages and bank statements only state i was getting £70 statutory sick pay per week for that time period.and not the £300 a week i normally earn. in my time off work i visited the land of smiles to be with my girlfriend. will they in any way use this against me ,as when i hand my wage slips in for the application they may not think i have been earning the relevant fund sfor supporting her and will they think i cheated the system in my time off work?

    thanks. a worried jim

  9. the government will never be able to stop the attacks.

the muslim extremists will succeed , even if it takes them 100 years , in wrecking southern thailand and taking it back to the middle ages , and their he11ish vision of a truer form of extreme islam.

within 2 or three generations , large portions of asia will be heading the same way , as will parts of europe.

holland , france and the uk spring to mind.

i agree with this as i live in london and have allready seen and tasted there ways and once they become stronger in numbers they be telling us what to do and in england we dont want to annoy so they get what they want its there human rights why cant we all live in peace
