  1. LOL, my memory tricked me, 2009 is like yesterday, thought it was much older than that ???? oops!! honest mistake ????
  2. because it's not solving any problem. Weeks for a transfer? in what country is that still happening? and are you that desperate for money that you can't wait 24h for a simple transfer? how is that a life threatening problem or a pain that needs immediate remedies? wait, it doesn't ???? the regulations will not go away, even with cryptos, that's why you guys keep missing. It's there to stay. There is about 50 years of legislation that will not disappear overnight, or ever for that matter. Au contraire, regulators are increasing the pressure every year, and it has nothing to do with technology or how fast you can do a transfer so you can buy your beers in Nana ????
  3. you are still spinning a story that doesn't solve any pain or a problem. Who cares if you can transfer in 5sec or less. Here is Europe I can do instant transfer under 1 min with SEPA and I don't even need bitcoins and a thousand GPUs farms to do so. You guys are blinded by your own tech BS, you fell in love with cryptos and are desperate to find a user case for it. Apart from money laundering and speculation, there is no use case. Until there is one, it will remain a PoC for geeks.
  4. Bitcoins started in 1999 or 2000 I believe, it has been 21 years already, and still not moving into anything mainstream if it had to happen, it would have happened already
  5. countries that have substantial problem with having solid fiscal policy and can't hold a government budget let's see how long this last, but it does smell desperate ???? anyway, no future as a stable legal tender, great for speculation though
  6. oh boy, swimming into the crypto Kool-Aid I see ???? yeah, all these nice and stable countries embracing cryptos, that's a real vote of confidence ????
  7. you need to snap back to reality, currencies do not have 20% daily swings ???? so using volatile cryptos to "hedge" against more stable "currencies", that's just a new level of lalaland we are reaching here in the cryptosphere ????
  8. indeed, a pure crypto credit card would be fine, but nobody is really offering to sell their product in pure cryptos simply because the price will not be stable, by the time you make the transaction, what would be your real cost if the underlying cryptos had a sudden jump or crash it's simply not convenient, and not usable, hence why it will never scale to a full consumer market
  9. it's pure BS and you know it? $1bn buying coffees with cryptos? please get real ???? read carefully, payments are made in USD, conversion are made to pay for all those coffees ???? credit card is linked, but if you pay in local currency, then it's still a conversion, that is you will sell automatically cryptos to buy USD and buy your coffee ???? it's a branded debit card that links to an exchange wallet, "The company is currently partnered with Coinbase, Circle and BlockFi to allow its cards to access crypto wallets on those platforms." gotta love PR ????
  10. LOL, that didn't address any of the issues in any meaningful way I raised but thanks for playing ???? yes, it's eco-friendly, god, you crypto enthusiasts are out of this world ????
  11. and to make things worse, Biden suspended all the money to pay for the army, and government staff no wonder they left their posts and run away, the whole system was on life support, and Biden cut them off, what was he thinking? even Trump wouldn't have been that stupid ???? and that says a lot ????
  12. I am free to do whatever of my time and who to argue with ???? what's your excuse then to barge in? and your point? none I see, thanks for sharing ????
  13. there is nothing wrong speculating with cryptos and making money on it, billionaires are like everyone else, they fall for fairy tales and scams, they are the preferred targets of criminals actually with the poor of course ???? there is however one issue for the farming, it's not eco-friendly, and it's a waste of precious natural resources (like oil and gas to produce electricity), and of course it finance criminal activities (just take a look at the operators of GPUs farms on TikTok, those guys don't come across as crypto "purists" ???? ) outside this, it's completely harmless and will not change dramatically our lifestyle (except for the waste of resources) if people wants to "dream" of a crypto world, perfectly free to do so, but when they try to "promote" their silly ideas onto others, like a religion, or the Jehova Witness, then I feel compelled to respond to their non-sense ????
  14. a lot of small traders in that space are speculating, but the big guns use it to "hide" certain transactions
  15. ahahaha, I know I will not be proven wrong on that one, it's a slam duck ???? you guys don't really understand world finance, so I am pretty much comfortable here arguing with you ???? you use headlines, I use my knowledge of the existing financial systems, and how big firms use PR to promote their firms on all kind of silly topics ????
  16. that's a simple wallet, like a debit card, they simply branded it to look cool, like I said, all PR stuff, nothing real.
  17. probably the only real value of cryptos is to be able to "launder money" and hide it from authorities in "suspicious" RL transactions, that's the true utility of it, and definitely "solving" a problem for criminals of all kinds ????
  18. if you really believe those kind of claims or click bait silly headlines, then you really are a nice mark for fraudsters ???? can I sell you a brand new bridge I have? ????
  19. are you sure? you must have missed a few posts here by members that claim exactly this, that crypto is the future for everything financials, which of course I am disputing ????
  20. Bush the idiot was for sure responsible, but he had the international community behind him after 911, and the war was won within weeks. It was a mistake from day one, but the bigger mistake was for Obama to continue.
  21. but it's PR, their system is not in place to "pay" in crypto. Try it and report back. Not one person is paying in crypto with VISA, it's all buzz words. They did the same in 2015 or 2014, go dig their Press Releases back then, same PoC <deleted>. as for investment portfolios, that's not payment, it's for investment purposes, but the SEC has just released a few weeks ago, strong warnings against investment advisors that "promote" cryptos to their clients without following a strict compliance protocol. Yeah, you can trade cryptos with most "brokerage" platforms in DIY mode, but advisors buying them for their clients are exposing themselves to major SEC compliance issue if they do. Do you really need the headache for your clients? of course not, you guys are buying a pipe dream, straight from Madoff himself with his 12% annual gains for life ????
  22. in scams, there is no small money, 500 USD or less is still good to take, when the prey are easy to get, you can get 1000 of them, so 1000 x 500 that's a nice sum of money
  23. Biden might be senile TBH, He had the power to stop this, but he didn't. Look at his VP face when he was making his silly statement. She was livid. Now that's his responsibility. He created the mess. Everyone in the international community agrees on that. He has betrayed everyone like we knew he would.
  24. that's a tough one to crack ???? Switzerland is one international hub of financial criminals, no wonder some crypto scams are coming from there ???? despite their "clean" image, stay away from "Swiss" deals and being registered in the UK by the FCA means nothing, it can still be a scam
