I don't know how people justify this. It's just another nuisance to travelling turning people away. Most people have been vaccinated and Covid barely has an impact on the vaccinated. So why are we pushing this on people still?

So much negative comments. I think it's a great gesture.

I've been reusing the bubble wrap in the packages from Shoppee to send to overseas. The amount of plastic is pretty high. But there are ways to reuse it.

A lot of people here are missing the point. Same thing with depression. Just because it is not happening to you, doesn't mean it isn't happening. Short sightedness of some people..

Maybe if the streets weren't horribly designed it could be a good tourist city. Driving there is a nightmare.

As a foreigner, you can use the Mor Prom App since a long time if you have had your vaccinations in Thailand. The passport number is not entered, but a 13-digit ID number that is on the vaccination paper. e.g. 6 0000-12345-67-8
I just get some message in Thai that I have to press ok and IT does nothing. Guess I'll have to chase up a yellow paper at the hospital.

Great thanks for the clarification. That's great then. Now just hope it is accepted in other countries.

If anyone has access to the Mor Prom App, like many foreigners due. The vaccine certificate is easily found on the App. It's the same as the vaccine passport which is not electronic but a yellow book you pay 50 baht for. The Digital health pass on the App also has a scannable QR code which shows the person scanning it your certificate....
You mean the app that needs a Thai ID number to use? Useless to foreign expats..
Or do they allow foreign passport ID's for us on Mor Prom now?

I'm waiting for Johnson and Johnson so I only need 1 vaccination. The idea of boosters every 6 months doesn't sound fun either.

The tax disc you refer as a blue square could be within date but your insurance might be out of date.
Oh okay. To my original thought what does compulsory insurance look like? How do i find it?
-
Okay thanks everyone.
Will check the blue square on my window. It should be linked to compulsory insurance right?
So i don't have to worry until i need to renew that. Now just have to figure out the Thai dates.
-
Trying to understand how they do things here in Thailand.
With the blue car book. You pay the car registration, road tax etc. correct?
So is the compulsory insurance and car tax a different document, or do they normally do this all at once?
I am renewing my voluntary insurance at the moment and it says excludes compulsory insurance. So just trying to get an idea what all these things look like.

I use Deemoney to transfer funds from THB to my AUS bank and use 'Wise' (Transferwise) if i need money transferred from AUS to THB.

Just check the type of drinking water you are buying - if RO filtered it is fine (only thing better is distilled at much higher cost). Almost all minerals are removed with RO filtration. Most of the normal bottled drinking water these days is RO.
Tesco has 1 liter bottles of Distilled water for 16 baht.

To top up the cooling system you should go 50/50 antifreeze and water. Don't use distilled water or tap water as advised previously.
You can use boied water as it's pH is pretty neutral. If your engine is using water obviously you need to find and rectify the cause.
So I stopped at a tire shop near Tesco, garage guy came over with some coolant. Was like okay thanks. He proceeds to want to fill the coolant tank, I said it was hot. I was thinking shouldn't I wait for the car to cool in a couple of hours as I just drove it.
But he still proceeds to open it (I thought he knew what he was doing). The coolant tank made a hissing sound as the pressure came out of the system. He then fills it up. I was like this isn't right.
Today after driving for 10 minutes. The coolant hose going into the engine had a hole in it, could hear it hissing and coolant pissing out.
In short, these clowns at the garage had no clue. So angry right now. Coolant tank is completely empty now. Sigh.

Hmm, where can i buy premix. Any big car shops in Thailand that would sell it? My Thai isn't so good, so it is hard to explain to the clerks.
The car has been a problem honestly. Had it repaired 3 times this year, more trouble then it's worth.
-
That's what i thought from doing some research. I will look into the distilled water at Tesco, that's what i was after.
I bought some coolant mixture. But the instructions are in Thai.
My Chevy eats the coolant, it's quite problematic. I recently got the radiator replaced so trying to be carful with it.
-
Not really a car expert, but been reading to avoid tap water (of course). But it says to put in the coolant tank soft water. Will bottled water like Nam Tip be good to throw in there. I couldn't find any premixed solution here in Thailand either.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

@Bangkok Barry My Thai partner said they have been using rubber bullets.

Thai drivers never expect to have a reaction time to things like this the way they drive... Tailgating and swerving through traffic lol. This video is no surprise.

To apply for a new extension of stay (it is not a visa of any kind) the normal procedure is that your new employer would apply for the work permit and get a application approval letter. Then it would be used with supporting documents form them for you new extension after the old one is cancelled. Then the new one would be issued after the old one is canceled.
Ah i see. That is why the employment office needs the work permit cancelled and a letter from the old school saying my employment has ended.
The new school said they cannot employ me until this has been done.
So looks like i am on amnesty for a little while.
Thanks for the info.

Yes and Yes
Awesome, thank you. I was stressing out about it.
Does my old school need to cancel my work permit if it expires today? Or can I start a new non-b process starting tomorrow?

As soon as your permit to stay ends you would be under the amnesty until it ends on the October 31st now.
Immigration mya not of known it was approved yesterday by the cabinet.
Whether you will be able to apply for a new extension later when you can formally cancel your current one is unknown.
So this would mean no 'fine" correct?
Also, this seems like good news as I will not be illegal under amnesty correct?
Are universities open to accepting enrollments in January?

Or when do Thai universities generally study from. In my country March is term 1.
I was looking at studying to get a permanent teachers license, diploma of education. Approved by Krusupa. The university I am looking at said that applications closed in August. So my question is, can I only apply to universities in general at this time? Does that mean the start date was September or something like that?
Any info on this would be appreciated or anything in general about getting a degree for Krusupa
