We continue to resist accepting reality, there's no intention to include us yet.  I suggest we just relax and save our energy for something useful.  We must wait and see what the future brings. By the way, who knows, not being able to be vaccinated could be good for us.

I give up trying to register and book a date for the vaccine.  Enough wasted time on trying to get a vaccine for a year through various channels.  The site provided by local authorities is testing my patience, after struggling for few days, I managed to register, only to find out my registration is incomplete somehow.  Just like many others who stated similar problems, I could not manage to select a date or time with any selected option.  Calling Public Health Help Centre will only confuse more as the answer to anything would be "I don't know". Tried calling a number of Government hospitals as well as private ones, Government Hospitals keep saying vaccines are only for Thai People and they do not have permission to give to foreigners yet.  Private hospitals say foreigners can get vaccines by October, and no booking is accepted yet.  By the way, I am over 60 with pre medical conditions of more than one, and to avoid adding another, I will not bother myself following fake promises, I am better off as I am.

Here's another possibility for cause of death. "Probable electrocution by lightening".  Of course, we can speculate whatever, but crime scene experts have to examine every possibility and then declare their finding.  What was stated as a cause of death meant nothing and should not be taken seriously to a point where members started exchanging unpleasant comments.

I couldn't agree more. I myself is over 60 years of age and with history of Heart condition, hypertension, and diabetic.  I have tried to contact various authorities to find out how am I going to get my vaccine shot, but nobody even bothered to reply.  I have been locked here since early December 2019, haven't seen my family back home.  I have declined to travel in a specially arranged flight organized by our embassy for fear of being infected in the process.  I even made donations towards the development of a vaccine at the beginning of the pandemic with the hope of being added to the priority list, as stated, only to find out that only Thais are can be registered.  The donation was accepted though.

Some reports mentioned that other countries don't provide vaccines for expats, but I know for a fact my country not only provide the vaccine free for all locals and expats without any discriminations, but testing, and hospitalization too. 

Are we suppose to be sitting ducks and see what luck future holds for us

Does anyone know if the online 90 day reporting is working? I have tried multiple times, and every time I hit the submit button after filling in the required information, a small pop-up windows shows requesting me to contact immigration office in my area and loops back to the filled form and again.

What OP describes is a normal city street with its annoyances, the locals dont care or even notice

 

I had 5 years in Cairo then 13 in BKK then moved to house in sticks with no neighbours!

Shifting from one environment to another requires some time to get adjusted to but some hostile environments become difficult to get accustomed to.  being in a quiet environment makes a person alert of any slight noise which the brain picks up as a warning signal.  On the other hand, if a person is used to being in a noisy environment, bad things could take place without notice not to mention health problems such as high blood pressure, mental issues, behavior, etc.

think of the blat blat blat rangadang pipe farts, as the little boy bike equivalent of what little lady does to her shoe soles:

 - putting noisy heel caps under shoes, to give plenty of warning to others... to help prevent being bowled over 

 

I guess we should be thankful for what we have. There is no such thing as living in a perfect world and no matter how bad things may seem, there are other places that are much worse.

True, I tried. I even had records of the noise level but came to dead end.  After all, we are quests here and cannot dictate or change the way of life that doesn't belong to us.

You wont achieve anything outside thats for sure, its a way of life.

I totally agree and I do understand it is how the traffic flow in the city.  But those vehicles are not producing the normal sound as they should be, I think they have been modified to magnify the sound making them sound more like HOGs (Harley Davidson's Owners) on the move.

But yes, road noises can be annoying... if you are that sensitive then maybe consider moving out of town... those are typical in-town annoyances... 

I must admit that I have not lived next to airport and yes, there is exaggerations in my statement to express how loud. Anyway, thank you for the comments

Screening passengers by means of thermal imaging equipment will probably detect those who are already infected and the virus is at the onset of symptoms.  Anyone arriving could be infected, but appear to be normal as the virus incubation period is 2 weeks.  It is those that we should look out for as thermal imaging systems will not detect anything abnormal about them.

No matter what security system you use, there will always be a way to beat it by those who are willing. It is the management and control of any system that need to be addressed.

For example, I have an annual contract with True for a residential internet package (internet, TV, data and mobile) and whatever promotion or offers I get or credits I get is routed through True wallet which requires registering and the process can only be done with a valid Thai ID number. The same thing applies for grab and few other things.

Hi everyone,

This is my first post as a new member to the forum, although I have been reading posts for the past 12 months.  I have two issues that need clarifications.

I am living in Bangkok, in a rented condo on a non-immigrant retirement visa.  Since I and all others on a long stay visa are paying taxes on everything, aren't we entitled for benefits such as free public health treatment?

The other issue is that I'm facing difficulties in various places because of lack of Thai ID card which is out of the question as my landlord refuses to accompany me to the District Land Registration and there is no other way as far as I know to go round it.  Moving out of this condo is not an option for many reasons I do not wish to disclose.  Any ideas what I should do?
