  1. Actually bragging about driving 3 times a week drunk. Pretty sad and this will bring you karma eventually. You actually have been driving impaired, meaning you are extremely lucky and do not know how well you are driving. If you were followed by a policeman in the states, you would be giving off hints that you are indeed impaired, and would have been arrested. many people can go from a city to their homes in the country and not encounter police or much traffic, and lucky they are arriving home intact. If you've been living here for years, it's no wonder you haven't been pulled over, as drunk driving here accounts for many of the daily deaths, and the police aren't enforcing this anywhere near what they do back home in the US. Your next driving could be your last, or someone else's, including a young kid. If my child was ever killed by a drunk driver, I would make sure his life afterwards would be a horror enfolding.
  2. It sure is, and many have been charged with murder for causing deaths. All depends on what state, country, prior charges etc. It's traditionally been a vehicular homicide but not always.
  3. They are nowhere near less angry than any other country, especially the poor ones. I lived in the US 62 years, and the people are happy, angry and everything in between there as well as every other country. Anger is seen daily here just watching the TV news. Imagine how much more there is if you see it happen daily there. Any population that has most of it's people poor and barely making it is not happy.Yes, they appear happy, but the anger and resentment is carried within, and many times comes out with knives, machetes, sticks and guns, and you don't see 5 chasing 1 down the street with the intention to beat him senseless and kick him when he's down like you do here. This isn't gangs I'm talking about but regular everyday boys. Anytime people are struggling there is anger, but the mai pen rai and fear of losing face keeps it down, at least for awhile. Strong friendships are less common here also, for the same reasons. One has money, others don't like it. Gold is shown off here a lot, and that breeds anger, even though many sell their gold when they are back in debt, which happens to most here eventually. I've been among these people for years now, and hear what they are saying, both by my ex and her family, and my girlfriend now. They hold back anger and that causes depression, and is a huge reason you see so many committing suicide here. A boring, poor country and depression add up to many taking their own lives. Thailand has many pretty hookers and good food. that's why the majority comes here. The women travel here to see the temples , beaches and food, which is all well and good, but after you've seen them there's not much left. The men will keep coming as long as prostitution is kept at bay, and those that live here are doing it cheaper than their own countries. Take away the women, the beaches and understand you can get Thai food that's good most anywhere, what do you have left? Like others have said, there are nice beaches all over SE Asia, along with good food and cheap prices.
  4. And also popular with adults that come from intact homes.
  5. I'm thinking he meant "know of"
  6. How does one know this? What would many be? Assumptions run rampant here, many thinking they can say most when they've only been with two or maybe three.
  7. What do you mean you tolerate them? Do you actually think anyone who has tattoos cares what other people think? Their bodies, their deal.
  8. But some still think global warming doesn't exist
  9. Before you comment on anyone's posts again, you might answer a couple questions I've asked before. Are you or have you been married and how did that work out, and how about other relationships, as others have told their tales. Most everyone alive has been burned at least once if not a few times. That's how you learn. Marrying your childhood sweetheart doesn't happen often. Everyone takes a chance in choosing a partner. Some marry after a week and stay together forever, and some divorce after 40 years. Most live with problems and no relationship doesn't have them. It's all what you can tolerate. As long as you have trust, no abuse, future alike plans and no neglect, most relationships can work.
  10. All of my kids have tattoos, besides the 7 year old, but when we move to the US, I'm sure she'll follow suit like her siblings, and my dad.
  11. You do realize that women without tattoos also have sex, meaning the ones you've been with, and that you are "sloppy seconds"? Not going into the fact that in Thailand you're marked as a sex worker if you have them.
  12. I'm positive you haven't come anywhere near close, as your statements show you don't know much about what goes on there.
  13. Maybe you should have stayed longer in the US to actually see what goes on there, as traveling from place to place doesn't lend to understanding what really goes on, and many only go by videos and some news they hear. You can live in one place and never go anywhere besides back and forth from work to home. Locals live here all their lives and never see but a fraction of what goes on here daily.
  14. To add on from before. I of course am not saying you can change anything here because many things are a certain way because of geographical location and climate. I'm saying changes should always be made to help all people, especially those that have been oppressed and are barely making it in life. Thailand has borrowed many things and made changes like other countries. Their justice system is born out of the English standard. Most things that people use here daily are from other countries and trade and tourism from those countries is part of what makes Thailand prosper. Democracy would do well here, where people can actually vote someone in and see them in that position. The driving ere is appalling and people die by the thousands yearly because of a lack of enforcement. This of course needs an immediate change. Thailand is a huge hub for human trafficking and extreme punishment would help curtail that activity, but where there's money to be made, people are kept as slaves. It isn't moaning wanting to live in a better and more safer place. It's mandatory to complain, and that's the only way changes will be made. Anyone who thinks things are just fine and dandy here are living in their homes and rarely leaving.
  15. Guess you haven't been there. I lived there 62 years, and never had much trouble at all. It has everything anyone could want.
  16. Many are blind to what's around them, and are content to live in a place that is wrong for them. Change takes place when complaints are listened to. Change can be good for everyone, besides those that prosper on others misfortunes and are content to keep things that way.
  17. If he says he's living a comfortable life, that's what it is. Millions here live on less than 20K a month and they seem to get by okay. Being extravagant is never necessary and only gets some into trouble. What's "normal" for him might not be for you, for a number of reasons. Some people like to stay around the house and some like to travel. If your life is what you like, you're comfortable. No one needs gold, the biggest AC unit, a BMW, beach vacations monthly, more scooters than family members, dining at restaurants that cost more but give less, drinking yourself into oblivion, or any other number of things some feel the need to have. There are many thousands of jobs people have that only take from society and take advantage of others. Those who foreclose on a family's home, making them homeless, corrupt officials who help themselves and other rich friends, people who move money around to make others rich, land developers who rape the earth for profit, big pharm companies pushing drugs that can cause more harm than good, police who take bribes to allow human trafficking, company Ceo's that make cutbacks so the top people can have a more comfortable lifestyle, these and other jobs that only take from others and don't help. People like these are living a lavish lifestyle, many of them here, throwing money around and making the locals think all foreigners are rich, which in itself causes many problems. Not something to be proud of or looked up to. Many super rich families got that way by having ancestors that raped and pillaged others, taking their land and money and sometimes killing their neighbors. These are many families now that are looked up to as being famous. Being frugal isn't wrong. In this world, it's necessary to ensure your and your family's future.
  18. It isn't being miserable pointing out what is. People like to see change where they are, no matter if it's their country or not. If you live here, you want things to be right, because there is always a right way and a wrong way, and some countries are still stuck in reverse. Changes some would like to see would help everyone.
  19. Laws on the book aren't enforced. Officials look the other way when a payout is made like most other poor countries. Although there is conservation in some places, it isn't as important here, also because it's a poor country and every man and woman for themselves. They try and protect their national parks because this brings tourism money, but their lakes are by and far netted out because it isn't a tourist thing as much here to go fishing. There are deer in those parks but nowhere else because if there were, they would be eaten and disappear overnight. The government has garbage pickup in major cities bit ignore the country areas, so the people have no place to put their garbage besides in the woods or to burn it, contributing to the pollution problem here. And yes, it's about education and enforcement, and that goes to the top.
  20. Along with the brown nosers who think they are somehow gaining favor, the ones who can't see the forest for the trees and those that are dead on with their complaints.
  21. That they usually have the top positions in other religions doesn't mean they are considered inferior. God made man the leader of the household for a reason. Women are not lesser because of this, as they have qualities that make a man better at what he's designed to do.Muslim culture also doesn't look at women as equals, but that's my point. Both areas have problems because of this
  22. Actually women and men are statistically equal as far as IQ's. Some sports women are better at, although the physical ones are dominated by men. The hardest job is a parent, and either can do as well as the other. As far as physical jobs that require strength, men usually come out ahead. The average man is usually physically stronger than the average woman yes.

  24. Culture born out of Buddhism, which to this day looks at women as inferior. Boys are revered although so many are useless when it comes to responsibility, and the women do most of the work and aren't rewarded.
  25. Speak for yourself. Others are interested in evidence and not others opinions. I also question everything I hear and read until evidence proves things. Like I said, you and others who are in denial will see what's going to happen to our earth, both by greed and global warming, which go hand in hand.
