  3. Chuchok, What can i say ? The All Blacks were the better team in the last game.

Im just hoping that with our best possible team in today and on home soil we can be a bit more competitive.

Not wanting to take the peee,but...we just won again!! :o

Dont get too cocky. Not very much in either of these 2 games.

Just keep those handbags swinging. :D

Still won tho.Have to admit that the aussies were much improved and the game could have gone either way.Looking forward to next weeks clash. Can't see sth africa winning but the should be more competative this time.

  4. I have a tt&t maxnet 256 /128 connection at home and was using bitlord to download some freeware files off the internet. The first few days it worked well although slow at about 6kb.Then it seemed to suddenly vertually stop. Now when i set to download it goes down to bytes per sec and is so slow as to make it useless.I was wondering if this is a standard problem,do I just have to for go using torrent or is ther a way i can still download this way.Telephone connection is in kathu phuket. Thanks anyone, some help would be appreciated. :o

  5. Have a similar problem here in Kathu, any bills or letters from thailand always arrive(anything with a window),but letters from overseas seem to go missing.Last 2 times there was $5 sent to my son from his grandmother, the letters actually arrived but with no money in them, the first time I thought she must have forgotten to put the money in,but now I think there is definately someone screening the mail. She is sending again this week as 1 final try,so will report back, but there is definately something going on.Problem is you can complain at the PO but the will just say it was'nt here.Another one I met last year was recieving no mail for 2-3 weeks then having 6-7 items all arrive on the same day!!!

  6. Hi,

can anyone here give me feedback on TT&T quality in phuket? is it better and TOT (both 256k)? becuase i'm thinking of changing from TOT to TT&T, they say it gives you 3 weeks of high speed time then slows you down to 56k speed?

and also they tell me the network is down right now so i can't install it, is it true?

    thanks.

ps i've already brought the TT&T 256/128k package now.

Have the tt&t 256 package at home in Kathu.Have been connected for 6weeks now and am impressed with it.Is up and running vertually all the doime, down short period about 2-3 times.Hav'nt tried tot but am quite happy with speed,Download speeds on thaivisa bandwith meter of up to 55kbs in morning slows down a bit during busy periods of the day but at a minimum 10 times the speed of the previous dail up

  7. The only beef on earth is Kobe beef.

But where to find in Thailand?

    alex

Is available in Phuket ,in the supermarket on the ground floor of Central department store, can't remember the price, but was enough to put me off my food.

  8. Go in and see the official first, preferably with someone who is fluent in your language and Thai.A representative of your builder would be a good start.Or see if the person who drew up your plans can sort this out as often is a clause in the architecture stage, architect draws plans and organises building permits.I have built here three times now, once the builder organied permits ,once the architect organised permits and we did it ourselves once.On the occasion we did it ourselves we were called in the office, was a bit worried about it but turned out all he wanted to do was sight our faces and say what a good service they are doing.

Also bear in mind that this is Thailand and anything we do as falangs costs more than Thais doing the same, the kick-backs will always be more as we are persieved to be wealthier.(I don't men to the tune of 2.7mil tho)

  9. I have not received any help or replies from Jsat, so I would guess they may not be the best to try to deal with if they cannot answer queries by email, in this forum and by PM.

    Same here,

I repeatedly had this communication issues with Jsat and decided now not to buy a product from them . If they can't reply to emails how will their service be in case of any Problems/malfunction...

    rcm :o

I presently run a visionnet reciever at home connected thru a adsl connection and think it is great. The E-Box is a new and yet unproven system tho may be okay.Visionnet has been up and running 9months now. With either of these recievers you have to be aware that when the net connection is down you loose your reception but apart from that I would recommend the visionnet.

Do a websearch,I would recommend www.satthaitv.com ,did good service for me but there are other dealers around just make sure there is adequate back-up for software updates, and that the reciever is prorammed to be able to change servers(most of the Thai dealers don't make this feature available)so that if server is down for any reason you can change and still have tv.

    Good luck with your search

  10. Hello all together ,

I posted here before with some questions related to housing / tax and so on.

I am still living in Sinagpore , but I will move to BKK by end of the year...if I really move. After intensive research , I am not sure anymore that I can survive on the package offered by my company . 300.000 bath/month plus car is a good deal in Singapore, but with 37% tax in thailand , it is not as much anymore. Renting a house for me and my family cost me around 100.000 I guess ( after browsing 100000 websites ) , school for my doughter is around 400.000/year . Adding health insurance and other small things, there will be nothing left .

I just want to check with some of you who are in BKK with a family, are my calculations right ( that means , I will not take this job) or am I making a big mistake somewhere ?????

Don't come to Bangkok, it's full and you can't afford it.

Hope my estimation is'nt wrong as I reckon I can live well on 40-60000 per month(phuket)That doesnt include rent as have own home. :o

  11. No pet market here as such, the weekend market on (called chatuchuk)on first road on way to chalong(running between the two chao fa rds)has the Phuket pet shop.Their shop is near saphan hin on the road that follows the klong, opposite side of khlong from where viehicle registration is.Is nearer to town tho.If they don't have what you are looking the go to Bangkok weekly and may save you the trip

  12. Yes both are real businesses,up and running.I bought some gear of satthai last month and was favourably impressed by the service.Believe they are opening a showroom shortly

  13. I installed an adsl connection on my line in Kathu last month(tt&t).It is the cheapest,at 600bt a month, and I am favourably impressed.Download speeds during the day(checked by this website ) at up to 56kbs and slows down in the evening to12-15kbs,i rate it quite high as it is 10 times as fast as using the normal tt&t internet service.Seems to be reliable, used to drop out with the free modem they supplied but is great now I upgraded to a d-link wireless router.
