  1. Ok I will do this. For sure if I exit and come back, I will have issues, just hope not face the same issue from within Thailand.
  2. Ok I see what's going on. I just checked this departure card was put in my passport in my previous visit. But it's exactly 30 days after my last entrance, so it's a coincidence. Because I can see the enter date on this card matches my previous visa, not the current one. It only matches the current one by 30 day exit. In any case though, I still wonder if immigration can give me problems inside Thailand because she seemed like she entered a lot of info about my 30 day of stay and leaving before stamping me.
  3. It shows 22 Oct to 5 Dec 2022 and it says visa class: W30 (45). Is this ok? There are no custom notes but maybe she put something in the system? Because she took pictures of my return ticket, etc.
  4. Now certain countries are eligible for 45 day visa exempt upon arrival by air I assume.
  5. Hi, Basically last time I fly into Bangkok, I was asked how long I will stay, and show ticket which I did for 30 days, so my departure card shows leaving date of 30 days after the enter date. But my visa is for 45 days. If I try to extend this visa at a Thailand immigration office within 45 days, would the date on the departure card be a problem? I am not sure if conditions can be attached to a visa or in the system so that the visitor is not eligible for extension within the country? Thanks in advance.
  6. Agreed 100%. From what I gathered, basically they make the visa requirements easy for old people because the kind of people who retire in Thailand don't have the kind of money to get wealthy pensioner visa for example. By far the vast majority of these people can't muster 80K USD per year. That alone is a livable actual salary for most in their home country. Neither they have 1M USD net worth. So I think that's why Thailand wants these people who don't have as much to spend but towards their EOL to spend whatever they have left here. If they could extract more money from them, then they could. Otherwise why not get these retired people to also prove they have 80K income as pension for example, because they don't have it. Many retired people don't spend much though. From what I experienced the biggest spenders are short(er) visitors so they just spend a lot to enjoy.
  7. Yes but those people choose to live in sg coz of tax not visa. I am just saying they are missing out on some demographic. Not everyone wants to shell out 500k for visa is what i am saying. It should be the same for all people regardless of age. More money = more privileges, not more age
  8. Thx but aren't retired people pay less than younger ones for visa? The retired are supposed to have more money but they pay less for the visa. For example showing 800k in bank account is cheaper than spending 500k. Not to mention agents allow retired people to not have 800k in their bank through other means.
  9. And what's that got to do with visas? You need to go back to school friend.
  10. Why lock your money when you can grow it faster than real estate.. many people here don't understand the concept of investing it seems. And not everyone plans to have kids.
  11. I was talking about 500k usd as the post i quoted you need to invest that much in the country. Usd as post i quoted mentioned that as a requirement. Yes i have many friends who have several million dollar net worth in Singapore which is where i live. Singapore is one of the most crypto friendly country with 0 tax so can't beat that. Even vitalik buterin is there.
  12. Have you heard about the concept of renting? Look it up mate..
  13. I didn't know this but investing half a million in the country breaks the deal. Some people prefer to stay liquid or have assets in stocks, crypto, etc.
  14. Hi, I mean they require minimum age for retirement and wealthy pensioner visas. Why is that so? Why can't people retire much younger? Or why do they assume you have to be a certain age to be wealthy? There are many young people who don't have to work or young people who have enough money to do whatever they want. Are these requirements based on the archaic work life where people used to retire at 65 or above? I mean these jobs still exist but there are also a ton of new tech jobs where people stop working on 30-40s to do other things. Why doesn't immigration recognize this? Thanks in advance.
  15. I didn't know they were different. I thought if you are visa exempt, then what you get was VOA. Is this not the case? For example for Canada. The officer told me, if you don't have proper visa the officer might reject your entry. After asking why I am not applying for visa.
  16. I used regular lane. When i told this to her about 45 vs 60, and how much work you get to do for 60 and the wait time that requires more planning she couldn't say anything. But i didn't know there was no limit to VOA.
  17. I also got questioned yesterday. So what happened was I was in my queue at suvarnabhumi airport and then another agent came and said he will take me. So after looking at my stamps he asked how long i will stay, I said 30 days. Then he said how long I stayed last time. I said 15 days because I did cambodia visa run. He said you only stayed there 1 hour. He said he will call the supervisor so he pressed the yellow button. Then supervisor woman came and brought me to another place for questioning. She asked what's my purpose of visit. How long I will stay? What's my work? Because my work is public she asked if she will find me there if she googled my name. She did of course. Then she said where I will stay. Address of that place, and if I paid for the stay. How long I paid for. Also asked return ticket which I had. She took photo of the address and the return ticket. She asked why I didn't apply for visa but she didn't know visa was for 60 days, instead of 30 which I corrected her. She also didn't know it was 45 days not 30 days which I told her. I basically said just for 15 days more, it seems a lot more hassle to apply for visa and outside the country, which you need time and planning. She said VOA is for short term visit. Then she took me to another booth to stamp me in, it says 45 days extension, but I wonder if with all the info she collected, she flagged me on their system in case I actually didn't leave after 30 days (per ticket) to cause issues for extension inside the country or the next arrival to Thailand.
  18. "Your friend" apparently lied to you. I just went there today, they said they don't do visa runs anymore, their email doesn't even exist anymore. So much misinformation on this forum.
  19. i asked this company, they said they dont do it. They gave another contact so I will see what he says. If not then could try Ubon Joe's link.
  20. Hi, Anyone knows a good place in pattaya that does border runs? I don't know if there are any here, but would appreciate any advice. My visa is set to expire on Oct 8. Is that enough time? Thanks a lot in advance.
  21. I think OP seems like a good benefit on paper and also it might be better to have it when young and potentially drop it when old but unfortunately if you have one of the higher tier plans and very wide coverage area like worldwide or worldwide excluding USA, the premiums combined with IP was around 30K USD at age ~80. This is too expensive to maintain. Another thing is, I don't know if the insurance will be very lax if you wanna go see doctors anytime you want and basically get over-excessive checkups. For this insurance the biannual checkup allowance was like $200 which is nothing, so the way I see it, it's not an empty cheque for anything medical.
  22. Yes but April OP costs a lot more than that. I see it 100K for this year alone if I had to pay due to my zone of coverage. It would be hard for me to hit that.
  23. Thx a lot. The use of operating room makes sense. Endoscopy is a good question i will check with them. My assumption was they weren't covered since they are some kind of diagnostics but if they give something that needs operation then they would be. But the out of pocket OP expenses are still tiny compared to buying it in insurance.
