  1. Have just heard [23rd Aug] a very good friend of mine has died in Thailand..he was last heard of in the Kanchanaburi area...he had been out there for many yrs

His name was ALAN NICHOLSON..he was 69yrs old..and an electrician...he came from England ...the Chessington area...along with myself his many friends are in disbelief .

IF ANY MEMBERS KNOW OF HIM  COULD YOU PLEASE GET INTOUCH...AT THE MOMENT WE DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS ETC.

IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFO...PLEASE GET INTOUCH

THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ THIS...AND ANYHELP YOU MAY HAVE.....................THX

  2. Damn foreigners. If they didn't complain then we wouldn't have these problems. Don't they understand Thainess? It's our country and you must accept that this is the way it is here. Curse you foreigners. blink.png

Oh really...where would Thailand be now if it were not for foreigners/tourists...up the swanee WITHOUT a paddle...thailand is a 3rd/4th world country and thats the way it will always be untill the get rid of Thainess....with comments like that...whats your trade..?...Merchant Banker..?

  3. I have read all the comments on here...NOT one for Samui....with VERY GOOD REASON...I have been a Samui man for 30yrs now[live in Lamai]...the scams are getting worse by the day taxis/beach vendors.shops/bars etc..do your self a favour give it a widw berth.

I would not have been saying this 5/7yrs ago..its a shame & breaks my heart to say it now,but its true.

The reason for this...95% is all the scum from ISSAN have descended on Samui...they think it's TREASURE ISLAND...bar girls/shop workers in particular...I could go on & on...any one who wants to know more...PM me

  4. On Samui you need a "Proof of Residence" from Immigration, signed copy of passport, for both the seller and buyer, and the transfer form. It is apparently easy to do yourself but I used an agent located near the DLT office at a cost of 800 baht including the DLT fees. They did all of the paper work, except PoR, and took the bike for the inspection. The green book was ready the next week.

Good post this is...i did exactly this same in DLT in Lipa Noi ....proof of Res immigration 500 bht...take abt an hr...

  5. Might be easier for your wife to get a loan if it was in her name as she could use the car for collateral, don't know how it would make it easier for you though. It's easy enough for a falang to get car insurance, don't see any advantage of putting the car in your wife's name.

What ever you do...GET IN YOUR NAME ONLY...trust me...your money..your name..OK....protect yourself...dont listen to her friends, they will be "batting" for her....OK

  6. there are some nasty wretched things in those bars.

Yep. Cheapskates with flip flops, cargo shorts, tats and singlets. For a white man to argue over 30 baht is pathetic when it could have been a genuine mistake, maybe you both should have paid the higher price and maybe you humiliated the girl and got her into trouble.

    serves her right

thais think money grows on trees in western countries....it does if you own the orchard....clap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gif

F the sin sot , it's out of date old fashion a waste of my hard earned money, which I could be using for the future . Why Thais think that money grows on trees in western country's is beyond me...

  8. Don't want to sound..well organised...but had you known about your trip & extension req before setting off on your trip you could have booked firefly well in advance...I also have a dble ent tourist visa..i knew my dates etc and got a return from Samui to Penang for 3500bhtbooked well in advance.

But you best option would be rent a car & go to Sadeao...can do in a day but over night is prob best for you & family....Good luck
