  1. Hello,

I'm in Phuket on an Eduction Visa that runs out mid April.

My girlfriends company is looking at employing me now.

Can I get a Non Immigrant Visa B being here already on an Education visa?

A visa centre was going to put me on a volunteer visa which you have to get a similar visa.

If I can how do I go about it?

I read a blog that I have to go to a government office in Bangkok, but I'm in Phuket.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks Peter

I believe that Scottish pounds need to be repatriated through the consulate, as apposed to the bank of England, so it's more expensive to change.

My friend went all the way to cao San Road once from phuket and changed it no problem,

But that was before covid, and before they moved the street traders on.

If I were you, I would ask on the pattaya forum.

    Thanks you so much

Scottish pounds ...  Never been able to exchange them even 40 years ago.

Always made sure I had English pounds before travel. Sorry .... not much help

Thanks very much for replying. I nearly managed to change them at a money exchange at the big Tesco near Big C. But they changed their minds last minute

Try the large Tesco near Central Festival, there is a small exchange table in the northern part of Tesco building, between the gold shop, CP booth and Tesco grocery shop itself.

The exchange rate there is very good, higher than in the banks and usually better than in currency exchange cabins outside.

    Thank you so Much ????

Banks will be open, but yes, smaller exchanges offer normally better rates. I saw the one next to medium sized Tesco in chalong open. So from your way, past chalong circle road left just before makro.

    Thanks so much ????

  6. Hello,

I've noticed many money exchanges are closed.

    There's zero open in Central.

I saw one open in Chalong when I visited but they were not giving good rates.

Does anyone know a money exchange open with good rates?

I'm Thalang near the Heroine Monument.

    But open to travel

    Many thanks ????

Actually agree - they have a good selection and often at reasonable price and you can check out - mail order can be very deceiving for towel quality.  Indeed many towels here are facecloth quality at best - with no ability to absorb water.

    Thank you ????

  8. Hello,

where would you find a good quality bath towel in Phuket without paying the earth for it?

But at the same time I understand you get what you pay for, something at a reasonable price.

    If that's possible 555

    Thank you :))))

  9. I have a full valid British license for a Car and a motorcycle.

I'm going for my appointment in Phuket tomorrow.

All the documents have been stamped 3 weeks ago at the DLT.

With luck I won't have to do the Theory or Practical?

I've been trying to study a test online that has been translated by the looks of it by Google, well giving me a headache! 555

  10. Hello,

can anyone please help with somewhere I can get my car carpet cleaned.

our dog peed/urinated on a spot

I’m in Thalang near the heroine monument & tried a car wash but they just vacuumed and sprayed it with deodoriser.

I presume it will need a vacuum with a washer and more.

it didn’t smell for about 7 days after he peed there so there was no chance of getting to it early

Any suggestions anywhere on the island would be appreciated.

    thx Pete
