They forgot to mention you also have to pay for your covid tests which is about 3000 baht. Pay for the expensive resort room. Pay for covid insurance. On top of that stay quarantined in a room for 14 days? Total waste of money. Nobody wants to come to Thailand that bad. Only ones will do that are the ones have family there.

Their cases are low because no farang are there except expats and most Thais have gone back home to the village because there is no work as a result of the COVID-19. Most Thais will wear masks also. So I halfway believe they're in control of it just based on who I talk to there and the fact I know they all have gone back home. Also, a lot of Thais go to free government sponsored hospitals and I am not sure if they test or report cases there.

This is why I hate how they force you to use caddies there.

Why do people compare Thailand, with no "alleged" internal cases for 33 days, with a country pretty well ravaged by Covid-19 ? It just doesn't make any sense at all.
Are you sure that is true???

We all know what the problem is,lack of education and infrastructure to handle the waste. These coastal communities that rely on tourism should invest in some beach cleaning equipment with some funding from the government. Thailand has some beautiful beaches, but due to the lack of cleaning they are terrible. Get them out there before the tourists arrive, clean up the beaches and make them beautiful. We can all blame someone else for our problems. But in the end you need to do what’s best for you and the community you live in. Arrived in phuket for a holiday, first beach I pulled up at was Karon. Driving along the road looking at the shops and restaurants, getting glimpses of the ocean through the small sand dunes was really nice. Decided to pull over go for a walk along the beach and then grab a meal. After walking to the beach took one look at it and thought is this it,absolute <deleted> for a beach in a tourist area. Rubbish everywhere, logs, branches, plastic bottles. Did a quick you turn and <deleted> off,the amount of money the phuket authorities must have made over the years must have been huge. Yet no real thought or planning went into maintaining one of their best assets.
Thing is they don't have anyone to clean their beaches. It usually ends up being volunteer expats.

It is extremely dangerous driving a motorbike in Thailand. I myself was in a bad accident and left the hospital losing 400,000 baht in medical expenses. Sometimes accidents are your fault, but 90% of the times it's not your fault no matter how good you drive. Reason being most people do not stay in between the lines on the road. Taxi drivers always racing and crossing over the lines. If you're driving a car you have to always have a 360* view around your car for motorbikes passing you on both sides. It honestly is never a question of if you will get in an accident, its when you will get in an accident. Whats worse, if you're a farang and you hit a Thai personal, get your wallet ready. You will have to pay the police for responding to your accident then the Thai person you hit.

The so called Chinese tourism only pays off when they come in huge masses. Anything less than that and this becomes not profitable. Don’t see the Chinese coming in masses soon.
They will. And when they travel it's always in the masses. But they never spend money on local Thai businesses so even if they come only the big companies and government makes out on it and not the regular thai person.

They always ban alcohol, this is nothing new. If they regularly ban alcohol, then there is obviously an alcoholism problem in the country.

No, it makes perfect sense as many people there like to sit around, eat and drink. People are less likely to party as much without alcohol. Beer or Hong Thong is the first thing I ask about before getting together.

In the States it's not something that's ever been done till now. So people are slowly adjusting. But makes it worse when the president downplays the pandemic.

Didn't 150 Thais just fly in from overseas to Bangkok and ignore the orders to quarantine for 14 days?

How do you know that. The rate of reporting is based on that country's ability to report or lack therof.

Okay, so if I buy a doctor's jacket, wear sunglasses while working indoors, and put my hand on the table in a methodical way, then I must be a professional and you can believe my lies.

Truth is they don't care if you're stuck or don't come back. They don't like foreigner's staying there for extended periods of time. I haven't figured out where the disdain comes from but it is just how it is. Starts from the top in the government and trickles down to the immigration. One thing I will say is they do get a lot of shady people that come there and do bad things while they are there so maybe that's why. I lived there for over a year and thats just how it is. Just know when you're sitting there <deleted> off because you overstay and its out of your control they're are laughing at you.

Not only was it stupid, it is selfish of them to go on a cruise when you know many other cruises had been grounded because of the virus. They would risk infecting everyone else when they get to their destination just to go on a holiday then play victim when they get stuck. Not sympathy from me.

Can't compare them to Japan. Japanese follow rules. If government says don't go out they won't. Has nothing to do with a strain or some concoction of a reason to blame someone else. Keeping your borders open, no social distance and your late response is the reason for the spread.

Can you for once stop with talking BS about this country. There are loads of people who have a good education make a good living.
But he's right. The average person makes about 10,000 baht a month. If your rent is 5000, that leaves you with 5000. Then they have to send money back home, usually 2000 every month. So that leaves you with about 3000. Then after bills you barely have enough to eat.
Thailand's entire tourism industry will collapse if foreign tourists are not allowed back, industry leader

I doubt many people will want to come to Phuket, pay for an expensive hotel that they are forced to stay at for 14 days, then pay 3000 baht for COVID-19 tests. Lets not forget the COVID-19 insurance you have to buy as well. Most locals in Phuket don't want foreigners there because they're afraid of the COVID-19 spread.
