  1. Yes, that's well noted. I live 4 hours from BKK, i would drive home and enjoy the freedom of my house etc then return for day 5, being careful to avoid crowds etc to remain free of Covid ( maybe ). I agree, the expense is noted if you have to 'hang out' in BKK for example. Hopefully day 5 gets dropped soon.
  2. Link pls. You're the only one disputing what i saw or do you think i don't know what i saw?
  3. But no one is gonna come for 5 days so your % theory is flawed.
  4. IMO as someone who has done 4 x 14 day quarantine and 1 x 7 day quarantine there is no comparison, this is much much better. Not sure how you can say not much better than being locked up in a room?
  5. I work overseas and have no choice to return home. Yes, it has not been fun!
  6. It was something i saw on the news, several times. Do your own research if you don't believe me.
  7. Has it happened yet? Is this similar to the points system they've spoken about? I, and many others, clearly do get away with it. See above RE getting away with it. 20 years, not one accident in Thailand so i 'm clearly not at fault for any of the road kills during that time.
  8. I believe you're allowed to self isolate now. OK for long timers with their own house but yeah not good for regular tourists.
  9. I don't need the capital in my properties, unlike you by the souds of it. Whe did this become a topic about rental and properties btw? When you off back to Blighty? Bradford / Leeds? AKA Karachi. Enjoy, i'll stay in Thailand ( chained ) thanks - lol.
  10. Perfect, like the other 39,599,999 you won't be missed by me. Thailand is my home, are you chained to your home? ridiculous hoops - it's the easiest it's been for 24 months, i can understand you must be one of the many that find uploading a couple of documents to a website too difficult - lol. Why am i looking at a brick wall, did you miss the bit about quarantine no longer being required, if that's what you're referring to. You must have some interest in Thailand judging by your frequency to this forum, perhaps it's becoming to expensive for you?
  11. Can you walk about freely in quarantine, nah didn't think so...... It's up to them, did you not read my post where it mentioned it's likely not going to appeal to short term tourists? Long term expats would probably go home and be cautious of where they go between day 2 and 5, right? I'm not apologising but for someone that has returned 3 times under CoE and twice with Thai Pass things are most definately improving, you cannot deny that. OR Are you one of these people that are an expert without even having travelled in the last 24 months?
  12. It's positive that all these other countries in SEA are removing all entry restrictions, it can only mean that Thailand will not be long after.
  13. No, there are a few that milk this. Does not need to be from a Thai company. Agreed, for regular tourists it's stupid but for long term expats that travel regularly, it's not the end of the world, much easier than CoE and much better than either 7 or 14 day quarantine.
  14. I also thought that the Highway dept and the DLT dept were completely independant, hence the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. But i may be wrong?
  15. Totally agree, won't here me complain about how they drive, it's pointless anyway coz it'll never change.
  16. Like wise, when ( very unlikely ) there is any correlation between outstanding fines and insurance or license renewal i'll have no issue paying my fines but until then there's no chance.
  17. The days of being considered a tourist for me a long gone. As i say, if you can't beat em, join em.
  18. I don't pay the fine coz hardly anyone else does and also coz their is no consequences for not paying. I don't consider myself above the law, i don't like wasting money tho.
