  6. What a bunch of dim-witted censorious moralists!! You actually seem to think that the mere carrying of drugs is evil, and that taking them is terrible, and that this poor woman deserves this sentence. You obviously think that prohibition is sensible and right.

The "war on drugs" is an idiocy that has created most of the criminality in the world today and cost society untold billions and untold misery. Drugs should be decriminalised and state-controlled, with support and care for addicts. That policy would be an immense improvement on the current state of affairs worldwide (except in a few enlightened European countries), costing the whole lot of us far far less in taxes and suffering.

People who support the current drastic penalisation of drug-takers and drug-traders are simply out to lunch.

    you are a clown

    No, actually he is right.

The C.I.A. get their money from G.O.D. Gold, Oil & Drugs and under the Taliban there was no heroin exported from Afghanistan, now the taps have been turned fully on. It’s been going on since the Chinese drug wars. The ‘Drug War’ is only rhetoric as it’s an integral part of the US economy the same as most if not all of the other, so called, wars.

War = money = profit, we are all slaves to the tax man and those that he misses pay in other ways like drugs and having our land stolen by oil companies.

  7. //bangkok.craigslist.co.th/cas/1004077668.html

I'm guessing it was from this craigslist ad. I have been wondering how long it would last......

I have seen that posting for a while and sometimes it includes photos of some knarley old skinny falang in a hot tub with his face blotted out. I kinda wondered how long it would last before they got busted.

The bib always have a camera at the ready so I suspect it will not be long before photos appear somewhere.

I know that Knarley old skinny falang and out of friendship and FEAR I would not call him that to his face. :D

That said, reportedly, the police were quite friendly and were looking for drugs which the did not find.

Knowing my pal, they were herbal viagra, these old crocks have to watch their hearts. :o

    ON ON

  8. anyone else getting this frequently?

i even have the biz connect and my modem is synched. im allowed to get my ip address.. but theres no net.. its like the only connectivity i have is with the central, and its blocked from there..

    for hours at a time

Yea my TOT line has been off and on more often than a bar girls knickers. Maybe if we all demanded a rebate on our next bill they will do something about this crap service. Just dreaming out loud.

  9. TOT Internet Chalong.

For a week now my internet connection via TOT has akin to a bar girl’s knickers, off and on off and on and more often off.

After phoning 1100 everyday not much has happened to improve the situation.

If the same is happening to everyone else, as I’m led to believe, does anyone think:- if we all demand a discount at the end of the month this might improve this situation, or do we just go T I T?

  10. Looks like parliament can just vote him back in (legally)

It will be interesting to see if he wants to be voted back in or if he is going to look at this as a way out without losing TOO much face.

They all don't care about face...just about money.

Reminds me of the three little piggy story – By cook and by crook I’ll blow your house down. :o

  11. Why did he anchor on the west coast of Phuket during the south-west monsoon? Anchoring on a lee-shore was very foolish of him.

Why is he broke? Yachts cost money to run, what was he planning to eat? Isn't he insured?

Anyway, I hope he gets his boat off, very worrying having to sleep on Patong beach. Trouble is, if the sand has got hold of the keel, it'll take more than man-power to move her.

    ELEPHANT !

  12. These crazy priests, protesting and demanding Thailand stays a Buddhist country }-

Don’t they realise Salman Rushdie has just been given a gong by the Queen !

Where’s the brains:- us ex-pats must have em all ! :D:D:o

    --------------------------------

Got a verbal description begging mail this morning. Which I thought amusing.

Allegedly from our old pal Mr. Toxin, the mail states he’s your friend, has lots of money in the bank, which he will give you a large percentage off. All he needs is your bank details “so he can money out of the Thailand” your honesty, and preferably a Manchester postal area.

    Anyone got the original ?

  13. One more thing.

I've this afternoon received a PM from another respected TVer who tells me he was similarly drugged recently.

Perhaps it's more common than my cynicism will allow me to see.

I hereby accept that the whole premise of my argument could be wrong, and if someone will fetch me my sword, I shall happily fall on it.

But only after I've finished wiping the srambled off my face.

    Mea culpa again.

Bendix, I take my hat off to you.

Not many people on this forum admit that they "may" be wrong.

Same. Same me . used to be big headed :- perfect now

  14. What an intersting question. I certainly wouldn't have ever considered the law in relation to catching fish for my tank. I would have been thinking more logistically - how could I get them home without fatalities?

Why not go down to Cape Panwa to the Dept of marine and fisheries and ask them. The man I once spoke to whose name I forget (he has a little dog if that helps :o ) was extremely fluent in spoken English.

Good luck and kudos for being responsible.

As you know, there are ways and means to getting, anything done here in LOL . including the fatalities.

No guess's - I am friends with people who actually eat parts of the reef.

Why not let them do what they have done for centuries? I have tasted "what I will not name" and its great.

Why not descourage them? How, by giving them a decent living. EG by letting prohibited fish be caught?

They do it anyway, often its accidental, AND they throw away and destroy many good specimens, by dragging a hook out its mouth and throwing it back, annoyed, with no care.

It could easily have been brought ashore for sale, alive, healthy.

World wide there is a great/profitable trade in these fish, but they are caught, buy all the horror stories you have heard.

This is different, they just casualy throw them back, mostly dead.

I love my friends, and with a bit of luck, May alter their thinking, BUT IT NEEDS HELP!

What do I get? A good feeling and a couple of fish :D

    BKK

Co-incidentaly these fish are the food source of all the big fish, which we the hypocrits have almost eaten to extintion, even here.

Sorry cant find spell check :D

  15. I am about to put a large fish tank into my bar and was thinking of stocking it with marine fish I catch at sea.

I have had conflicting advice, one saying certain reef fish are protected, with stiff fines and the other saying, as long as I'm not doing it commercially it's OK. I have kept fish most of my life and always dreamed of a marine tank. Now I don't know what I can put in a tank and what I can't.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
